  1. Have they already started to pay back? I checked my account (tataindicom.com/myaccount.aspx) and found that on the 'Outstanding Amount Due (Rs)' count there is an entry of '-30.25'. As I'm a regular bill payer ( I always pay the exact billed amount), this amount must be something from TTSL end that I'm getting rewarded. If it is true, then it will be some compensation for the call drops I experience.
  2. Still it is better than Reliance's PPC considering the short Local/STD call for 25p even if it deducts Re 1/day.
  3. Configuring Gmail on WM is easy and scheduling for auto-SEND/RECEIVE is also possible. I'm using it (I've scheduled it for connection after each 30minutes)on my ASUS P552W and getting new mail notification automatically if there is any new mail. Reading new mail (with attachment) is very easy and the mails get downloaded and get stored for future offline reading. However, could not configure rediffmail.
  4. Idea Delhi's New Sms And Tt Offer

Yes, a much lower number of SMS for a lower price would be helpful. Reliance's offer is by far the best.
  5. Where is the tariff reduction, Kesav? They have hiked it. It is a big blow for me. I'm using the unlimited plan, now I'll be charged more. So bad!
  6. Htc Plan To Launch 4G Supersonic Phone For Sprint

I'm using BSNL 3G for a period of little more than one month, not using any video call, only internet on my ASUS P552. Loving it (3G data speed).
  7. BSNL is the best now. I've an EDGE connection on postpaid (Rs 199/month) and at our place 3G is available. I am using 3G data unlimited on my ASUS P552. Quite fast. GPS on google maps is really good experience. Aircel's tariff is good, but dialup speed is dismal. And while roaming, data is unavailable in many places. So it is better to avoid Aircel GPRS if you don't have much time to waste in waiting. AirTel's this tariff is very high.
  8. Never used RCDMA or MTS, so cannot take part in this poll. I'm a very old subscriber of TataIndicom and is going on using it because I use the on-net free add-on facility, besides there are other advantages also.
  9. Tm-Xxxxx Sms Menace!

Same experience here. I am a DND registrant for a long time. Still receiving TM sms regularly.
  10. I am also using it for last few months. I type in bangla in many occasions and now frequently use bangla e-mail. I can type unicode bangla very fast.
  11. Bsnl Data One Which Plan Is Better

Something must have gone wrong with your friend. BSNL never does this. I used DataOne for a long time and ended with 500 Combo Plus. I used auto rebooting of computer and rasdial to automate the downloading from 2am to 8am. I use premium account of rapidshare and I'm a heavy downloader. Finally when EVDO was launched at our place, I promptly grabbed it, leaving my DataOne connection. I surrendered bFone connection. Now I'm using the EVDO and enjoying roaming on my laptop. If this service is available at your place, this is the best one. Have it within tomorrow, the tariff is going to increase from new year day.
  12. Nice analysis. This voucher is not a good one. Even existing plans are better.
  13. Bsnl Data One Which Plan Is Better

You are in Mumbai, how would you get BSNL there?
  14. DoT puts on hold 11-digit plan Govt Examines Alternate Proposal From COAI THE department of telecom (DoT) has put on hold its plan to get all the 500 million-plus mobile users in the country to adopt a 11-digit cellular number from 2010. The DoT had recently prepared a draft notification in which it sought all mobile users to adopt a 11-digit numbering plan by prefixing ‘9’ to their existing cellphone numbers. But, the department has been confronted with stiff opposition from all leading operators who said that it would be “next to impossible” for India to move to 11-digit mobile numbers in 2010 as this would involve making massive technical changes to both softwares and mobile network configurations. They also argued that the process could take up well over a year to implement. The DoT, in an internal note, has now pointed out that moving to 11-digit mobile numbers has serious security concerns and, therefore, the move should be put on hold. The government is now examining an alternate proposal from the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the body representing GSM operators, which had suggested that levels ‘7’ and ‘8’ should be vacated and allocated to cellular services. If this proposal is accepted, then mobile numbers will continue to have 10-digits, but will begin with ‘7’ and ‘8’ too. COAI has pointed out that opening up of these levels “will give 2,000 million more numbering resources” while adding that “even with 60% efficiency, this would cater to 1,200 million more subscribers which is sufficient to meet the requirement of the next seven to 10 years”. Also, on the cards is a move to examine if more levels such as ‘5’ & ‘6’ can also be opened up for mobile telephony. The ‘95’ sub-level of telephone numbers, earlier reserved for trunk calls or STD dialling within a telecom circle, is now being allotted to cellular operators. The DoT also plans to ask telecom companies to vacate the STD code of ‘89’ so that this also can be used for cellular services. The existing numbering plan was fixed in 2003 and the DoT had expected it to be in place till 2030. This is because, based on the 2003-projections, India was expected to have 500 million mobile customers only by 2030. But the country has reached that mark in 2009 itself. India has been the world’s fastest growing cellular market for the past three years, surpassing even China. Thirteen mobile phone firms are jostling for space in the Indian market, which most analysts say can support only four to five operators. India is adding an average of 15 million new cellular customers every month. Four more companies are due to launch services by next year. Source: The Economic Times.
  15. Samsung Corby Speed CDMA Launched

This Corby Speed is an OMH, which means the CDMA phone can work with any of existing CDMA operators who support OMH SIM cards. The handset has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, SNS support, 2MP camera, 80MB internal memory, microSD card slot, music player, FM Radio and comes in three color options – White, Black and Yellow. It will sell for Rs. 10,400.
  16. TataIndicom has launched CALL INDIA 149 Plan. Although, this is not available in the list of 'current plans available' in the official website. As usual the 'Value+ Packs'siteremains ill-maintained as usual. I was using the 'New Tata Platinum plan' for a few months with unlimited local Tata2Tata pack, SMS All India Pack 1000, and Most dialed STD lite pack (call & sms @ 25p/min to one Tata number nationwide). I wanted to change the plan to one of the available Indi150 plan yesterday and as usual the customer care executive didn't have the info that the Indi150 plan has been withdrawn on 25th Dec (it is still available as per the official website, go and check it). Today, one TataIndicom executive called me from Bengaluru and offered me the CAllIndia149 plan. It has local call rate of 30p/min and STD at 50p/min. It gives 149 number of free sms (local & national) but no free calls. I chose it. In my account the name of the plan is showing, but you will see that there is no such plan in the official website. Exasperating. TataIndicom is taking little care in maintaining their official website uptodate. Their cc executives are equally ill-informed. I don't understand why on earth they design plans where most of the Value+ packs are not compatible. People are ready to pay of an add-on pack, but it will not be available with his chosen plan. In the website itself, it is nowhere mentioned which pack is not compatible with which plan. In Pay Per Call plan in post paid, one has to pay Rs 149 as rent to have the facility of Re1/10min local and Rs3/10min STD. But this facility is available for a daily deduction of Re1 i.e. Rs 30/Rs31 per month. This is very much irrational for the post-paid customers to pay such a high rent for the same facility.
  17. I'm using mobile phones for more than a decade now. At the beginning I was on prepaid, when only Reliance Smart GSM was launched and incoming calls were Rs.4/minute After that I switched to BSNL post-paid for its unlimited GPRS and I started using it before it was officially launched in our circle. I used to use O2 MINI-II with Windows 2003 SE OS. Post-paid was always advantageous as only in post-paid plans 'Friend&Family' pack was available which was unlimited at that time, also there was 15 sec pulse. Also roaming was available to post-paid subscribers only. We, the post-paid users used to enjoy seamless mobile use in the trains while we travelled to Kolkata (it was considered to be roaming region at that time). Our pre-paid friends used to switch-off their phones when they reached Kolkata or any other roaming region (as they do in Assam or in Kashmir now). Days have changed. Operators are considering these old customers as burden. We are no longer privileged subscribers.
  18. Tata Indicom Per Second Plan

Wait & watch. Everybody has to come to the competitive terms, otherwise they will perish.
  19. It's important. I'm contemplating buying a new handset from Sadik, so this information is really necessary.
  20. BTW, while we are waiting, we can have a time-pass by exchanging the views among members which network we are going to grab leaving which parent network and why? Let it be clear, why we all are so eager for this ensuing change.
  21. Dual Sim Qwerty Handset

Best solution for your problem is to go for a touch-screen phone with either virtual or real qwerty keypad, albeit it will not be dual. The only decent dual SIM (CDMA+GSM) with Windows OS (Windows 6.0) that I know is Spice D1111.
  22. Hey, Its Snowing....

    Yes, nice feeling.
  23. Tata Indicom Per Second Plan

What about postpaid? No plan announced yet in the tataindicom.com site.
  24. Motorola Launches Droid

When can it be expected in Sadik's stable?
