Good/cheap Postpaid Plan For Vodafone
sougatadc replied to coolminilife's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Good, Cheap and Vodafone are contradictory words -
Local offnet video call tariff is useless because there is no other operator operating in Delhi or Mumbai (MTNL area).

Idea Offers Lowest Tariff At 40 Paise For All Local Calls And 50 Paise For Std!
sougatadc replied to Arun's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Idea Cellular enters Kolkata, West Bengal market Kolkata : Idea Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group company, launched its GSM mobile services in Kolkata and the rest of West Bengal yesterday. With this Idea became a pan-India player with 98 pc coverage of the telephony potential of the country, claimed the company. In keeping with the recent brand campaign, Idea brand ambassador Abhishek Bachchan came in 'Walking and Talking' to the launch ceremony here, in a symbolic gesture to flag off the services. 'The launch of our services in Kolkata and West Bengal marks near completion of our mission to become pan-India operator by 2010. Idea is the fastest growing mobile operator in India and I am confident that our high quality network and services will enhance mobile experience for the 'City of Joy' and the rest of the state,' said Ambrish Jain, Director-Operations, Idea Cellular Ltd. The under-penetrated region of West Bengal with mobile penetration of just 24%, in contrast to the highly competitive market of Kolkata metro with a high mobile teledensity of 73%, has been identified as a strategic market by Idea. According to Jain, Idea's initial network of 1,150 cell sites will progressively grow to a network of over 2,800 cell sites to cover more than 8,200 towns and villages by the end of March 2010. Idea's 2.75G EDGE enabled network will cover 8 major districts-Hoogly, Burdwan, Murshidabad, North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Bankura and Purulia, during the launch phase, and will be expanded to cover 22 districts of West Bengal and Sikkim, before the end of current financial year. 'We have made an investment of Rs 600 crores in the current fiscal for the Kolkata and West Bengal chapter, and will invest Rs 1,200 crore in the next 3 years to strengthen our GSM services here,' Jain said at the launch. As per the company plans, the Idea service network will comprise of over 29,000 retail outlets and 156 showrooms across the state by March 2010. Idea is also introducing two billing plans for its subscribers. 'We are the first operator to offer billings as per customer choices. Subscribers can choose either 1p/min or 40p/min billing for 365 days without paying for any power vouchers or tariffs,' a company spokesperson said. Idea Cellular has a subscriber base of over 51 million across the country. The company has recently launched services in Jammu and Kashmir and will soon launch operations in Assam and North East, thereby making its presence felt in all 22 telecom circles in the country. -
Celebration Plan Prepaid
sougatadc replied to hritik123's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
WRONG... Mumbai, Maharastra & Goa circle is not comparable with rest of the country both for prepaid and postpaid (sans some exceptions of Jammu & Kashmir) as TataIndicom has two entities- i) Tata Tele Maharastra Ltd (TTML) and ii)Tata Tele Services Ltd (TTSL), their names show where they are operating. They have different share holder base. They are offering different facilities e.g. Pay Per Call (Re1/10min for local and Rs3/10min for STD) is not available under TTML area, whereas there are some postpaid plans like Double Value 300 or Triple Value 500 which are exclusively available under TTML area. -

I agree with Amit, Reliance's offer is by far most lucrative. -
Now, Pay Per Call, Talk As Long As You Wish..... Tata Did It Again..
sougatadc replied to siva1983in's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
But post-paid TATA has got some advantages over pre-paid: (i) conference calling. It is not available on pre-paid. (ii) every call details on itemized bills. If you opt to pay through e-payment and do away with hard copy of bill, you will get itemized bills for free in yours mailbox. (iii) STD at reduced rate. One can avail STD (and SMS at 25paisa) to one TATA number anywhere in India @25 paisa/min on a monthly rent of Rs.25 (iv) SMS packs work for national SMS also. prepaid SMS pack is for local SMS only. (v) National roaming incoming calls can be free for 750 minutes if anyone opts for Business Silver plan and activate Business Silver Roam before the billing cycle starts. This costs another Rs. 150. This facility is unavailable in pre-paid. -
Which Is The Best For Evdo Now?
sougatadc replied to vishalsheth's topic in Other Broadband Discussion
465 kB/sec = around 3.6 mbps. BSNL EVDO is using Rev.0 which has a maximum download speed (technically) of 2.4 mbps only. So I am not sure how that was possible? I get a steady speed over 1.5 MBps always. I shall always vote for BSNL EVDO, for its best part i.e. it is unlimited. I easily download over 70GB in a month, which is just impossible with TATA or Reliance. -
Now, Pay Per Call, Talk As Long As You Wish..... Tata Did It Again..
sougatadc replied to siva1983in's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes, I saw it a couple of days back on the site. However, the tariff is quite high compared to prepaid Pay-Per-Call counterpart. With Rs 249 monthly rent payment the user gets only 50 local calls free, i.e. Rs. 50 or max 500 minutes of local calls (if anybody can talk like that, by exactly calculating the call duration). While in prepaid, with one-time payment of Rs. 254 (yes, one-time, it was Rs. 96 at its launch) a prepaid user gets 3650 days' validity and the same call facility (Re 1/10min for local and Rs 3/10min for STD calls). With this, the subscriber is also not required to go on recharging at least Rs 200 every 6 months like life-time validity. TataIndicom is doing it unfair for the post-paid users like me. -
Tata Docomo Postpaid Plans
sougatadc replied to iammanuarora's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
This figure is "40%" on an average according to a study as mentioned in Times of India the day before yesterday. So there is a possibility of more saving with Tata DoCoMo. -
My Dear Sanjeev, With the same settings in PPC (username: wapuser and password: wapuser) internet is now chargeable. My friend is using HTC Touch on his prepaid connection and he is finding it not free anymore. My sister is also using prepaid on her NOKIA 6275 and she is also experiencing the same (internet is now chargeable). Really a sad story now.

It will take time to be launched in our area, the eastern part of the Country, I think. However, plese let all know about the quality of service, the billing (is the "call @ one paise/minute anywhere in India" tagline properly maintained?), and more importantly the internet service (they are projecting i-mode to be launched, if it is there, it will be a sea-change in mobile internet), internet tariff etc. Also please let us know whether they are allowing easy migration of existing CDMA subscribers into this new GSM service keeping the old number unchanged. Is it prepaid only or postpaid also?

Tata Tele To Launch Gsm Services Soon
sougatadc replied to vmsanghrajka's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
No, Mukesh it is yet to be launched. As per TATA DoCoMo's press release today, it is going to be launched shortly by this month (press release attached). They will invest 2 billion US dollars for pan India GSM network which will provide 3G, mobile payment and other advanced facilities those are available in Japan like i-mode, LBS and LTE. We all are waiting! TATA_DoCoMo_press_release.pdf -
Yes, it is available at Rs. 185/month for unlimited usage in prepaid and for Rs. 199/month for the same in postpaid. But, very few towers boast EDGE connectivity and you will spend more time on waiting for a page to open than in surfing. The speed is dismal in many places.

Yes, as required. Proxy Server IP = 172.23.252.15 Proxy Server Port = 9401 Actually, the password 'wapuser' is not getting saved. Hence, it is giving error message 'username and password' are wrong.

I have upgraded to the latest ROM from HTC Touch site. Everything is working fine, except my wap on Tata network cannot get connected. Internet modem is working but when I try to connect through wap, it is giving error message that the username and password are incorrect (I have used username and password as 'wapuser' as earlier before upgrading). Actually the password is not getting saved which is making the problem. Can anyone help on this? Will editing any DWORD in registry will remove the problem? Please help.

Fennec is the code name for the alpha release (initial version) of Mozilla's mobile Firefox browser. According to reports, it will be surfacing next week. The newest mobile browser will first be available only for the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet, which runs a proprietary open source platform based on Linux. It will be alpha version for now and it won't reach a beta state until sometime next year. Windows Mobile will get a version of the browser, too, though there is no word if it will get an alpha version or a beta version of the mobile browser. There was no word at all whether or not other platforms, such as Symbian, will get alpha or beta versions of Firefox for Mobile. By releasing it to the developers, Mozilla will find out soon enough where the browser's faults are, and will have a good opportunity to receive feedback from those most likely to adopt the browser in the future. Fennec relies on the same backbone that the regular version of Firefox does, which is an HTML rendering engine called Gekko. It will support JavaScript and Ajax as well.

This is a problem which is experienced with Customer Care executives with all the operators. I've bad experience with TATA officers many times. While they didn't know the answer, they tried to act smart by baffling me into wrong information. Now I have resorted to writing e-mail directly to the Nodal Officer. This helps. Actually, the Customer Care executives are not from the company directly, but are outsourced. They are poorly paid, don't have any credibility, and can be fired from the service by the company at any moment.

My dear Kamal, Your motive was good, but it is quite difficult to find the thread and post a message as this thread goes into oblivion when new posts in same category come into picture. Actually the thread of Kyocera 7135 is a dead one, the last post was on January 14. This occupies space in the main page and deserves deletion now. This category may be merged with `other handsets' category. Regards..

Here are few cab files which can change the dial pad backgrounds. Change the look according to your mood. However, one cab file will be installed at a time. You cannot install all the files and select the dialer skin from a drop-down menu. I've kept the files in the storage card and installed one of them in the card itself. After installation, you will be required to soft-reset the phone. If you want to change another skin, the earlier will be erased and new one will be installed. Here is the rapidshare link where I uploaded the skins. http://rapidshare.com/files/129379419/Dialer_Skins.rar.html

Tata Indicom Has The Least Congested Network
sougatadc replied to @ksh@T's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
That's right. Being a Tata Indicom subscriber, I experience very few congestion and call drops. But this news is quite an old one, featured months back in newspapers. -
Yes, I'm still getting 500KB attachment limit. At least, it shows that the `Max single upload size: 500KB' is there. When I wanted the screen shot of my browser (the image is 969KB), it showed the message - Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space. But on Call blocking software thread in HTC/ UTStarcom/ Audiovox, Sanjeev Sharma could attach a file which was 1.34MB.
