Raja Seeks Mobile Tariff Cuts
sougatadc replied to coolrajiv's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Yes, this COAI,`the GSM gangsters' never slashed tariff on their own. Only when the CDMA operators brought down theirs, they were compelled to cut the tariff. Only what is attractive in GSM is the variety of handsets. Other than this, the GSM network is worse, tariff structure tends to hide subtle costs and always lags behind the offers made by Reliance and Tata. Despite enjoying better bandwidth in spectrum, they are always nagging for more from the Ministry and vying for slapping higher tariff on the customers. So, let us hope that Minister doesn't succumb to the pressure from COAI. Regards. -
Did you know? BSNL giving unlimited net through their cdma land phones for just 250 pm unlimited net with the speed of reliance netconnect more than 1K pm less than reliance offer BSNL CellOne mobile postpaid connection offers addon of Rs199/ month unlimited internet with decent speed. Any handset with EDGE and bluetooth can easily be used as external wireless modem. Does BSNL have edge network there? in normal GPRS we will get only upto 50 kbps With EDGE upto 100 in cdma 1x technology we will get more than 100 kbps steady speed BSNL is offering EDGE for quite a sometime now. I think since last 3 years. Although all BTS nationwide are not EDGE enabled, good cities cater this. Not all things of BSNL are bad, Man!

Please Recommend A Good Handset - High Budget
sougatadc replied to glovalize's topic in Other handsets
Go for any PPC, Man! You will simply love it, will find difficult to live without. -
Samsung is yet to launch its open-market sale. Guys in this forum are telling that Samsung has started selling, but their website says differently. The exclusive CDMA handset site for India, http://www.samsungcdma.in clearly says that "Samsung CDMA handsets are currently available through Tata Indicom Outlets."

Samsung has decided to launch its open sell in India for CDMA handsets. When it will actually be launched, they will definitely advertise. Then CDMA handsets will be available in any retailer shop like any other GSM handset. Now, with the Champ bought from Tata source, it will require mending for unlocking.

Anything chinese is a product avoidable. Follow this thumrule, and save money in the long run. We have no alternative in case of accessories offered by Multi National Companies that are Made In China. This is happening because they have opened their assembly line in China only to reduce production cost. Like any HP Laser Jet Printer now sold in India is brought assembled / manufactured in China or any sort of charger / battery eliminator of any gadget is now from China only e.g. Nokia or Nikon charger. You don't have any option. But when the question comes about choosing any pure Chinese brand, it should be big NO. For example, these big-screened, touch-screened handsets are highly unreliable, batteries are of dismal quality; spares/ accessories will be unavailable.

Battery of Haier sets don't last. These cheap handsets are not good. I wonder why a person who is ready to pay even 15,000 to 20,000 rupees for a GSM handset looks for sub-1000 rupees handset when subscribing to CDMA. The same person remain contended with cheap and not-so dependable handsets when question of CDMA network comes. This is the reason, the handset market in CDMA is confined within a few handsets only.

Tata Indicom Offers North Corrider Pack
sougatadc replied to coolrajiv's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes, it should be immediately introduced nationwide. At least, a new offer should be there, in which against Rs.75, one will be able to make Tata to Tata free NLD calls. It is still confined within local ambit. -
Hi Raj, some laptops comes with in-build card reader. So if you want buy a laptop, just ask the vendor about in-built card and also what types of cards it reads and writes. In laptops it is always in the right side. I have a Compaq 3137 and it has card reader on left hand side. Yes, the card reader may be located in the front panel also. I have seen in some high end HP desktop models, there are built-in card-reader.

The display on my Nokia 6275 suddenly developed very fine horizontal lines. The resolution got worse with it. It is more apparent when the camera is on. The picture it displays is very bad, looks like a picture through a vga camera phone. Although the snap it takes is of same quality as before. I tried all types of software resets but to no avail. Can anyone please help?

I will try to send the set to any service centre as soon as possible. The problem is the lack of openness of CDMA handsets. If it was a GSM connection, I could have borrowed any handset from one of my friends for the time being and use it, but procuring a new handset only to send the faulty one to the service centre is a costly proposition. Anyways, as there is no other alternative, I will have to have at least an old handset for the time being. Thank you for the suggestion, my friend 'Honest'.

I had been to Sri Lanka recently. I found Lenovo handsets are available there. But here in our country, no one even heard about handsets made by Lenovo. I don't know why these are not available in India.

Yes, I know they both are non RUIM handsets. I want one. When I used to use GSM, I was a die-hard Pocket PC user. But I switched to TATA only for attractive tariffs and free wap. Any person, not craving a Pocket PC, will find TATA very good. They offer only one touch screen PPC which is too old using 2003SE Windows OS and bulky besides being too highly priced (almost 30,000 rupees). Moto Q is not a PPC in true sense. Now, Hetal bhai, please let me know from where can I buy a Touch or Mogul and if you don't mind sparing me some time for configuring the same, I am ready to come down to you. Please reply. My phone number is 9233445566 on which you can leave me an sms or you can write directly to sougatadc@rediffmail.com Waiting for your reply, Hetal bhai.

I bought my 6275 from Delhi. I was in a hurry when I bought it. The vendor took the opportunity to befool me. He did not provide me the micro sd adapter which was bundled with the free 256MB card. I had to buy another card only because I wanted that adapter.

Thanks a lot. Although I use wap dictionary, I will use this dictionary now on which will not require me to log on each time I want the meaning of a word.
