Well Reliance Passport is really a very good option.. I have been suggesting a combination of Passport & World Calling Calling card for all my friends on this Forum. Take a temporary UK SIM when you go to Swiss.. (its possible to use a UK sim there) Mention this number in your vacation mail.. Incoming per min. for you - Free (Daily rental apply though) If possible re-charge a World Calling card with plan 2250 in a Rel mobile/LL back in India. Some of the Symbols are only a visual treat but not practically simple to pen down. I chose the simple hindi alphabet.. Simple to make & in our national language.

Both plans are still available.. Go for it now ! Especially the 20 GB plan is most tempting.. after all HSD/EVDO has announced a max of 10 GB Data Limit for their cards. Lot of ppl who have taken 1GB/2.5GB on EVDO might suffer badly.. It spoils you & makes u download more than required.

Hi guys.. One of my friends (belonging to the IT Industry) has both Rel EC-325 & the new Huawei EC168C HSD Data card. He was wondering whether he could apply a program to the device other than the default 'User Interface' that comes with the drivers. This program could command the Data card to connect to the net, send/recv files and automatically dis-connect. Can this be a possibility? Searched RImWeb but couldn't get any similar threads.. (Topic/Post updated for both CDMA 1x & HSD Cards)

Its seems he is from programming background & knows the significance of erasing " !-- -- " Full Credit to you for this.. to the forum dear friend. BTW.. For dear Rimwebians, you can also reset the statistics by right clicking & choosing reset. The 'Download meter' will then start from that very moment ! Amazing work !

^^^^ Handset rates unfortunately vary from WW to WW. It could be procured @ 1300 Max. Im not sure about the revised rates for CDMA LT connections.. it could have been revised after GSM LT coming @ Rs. 50 ! As the LT pack contains already contains a RUIM card, need not separately buy it.

Probably another joke after the 'Unlimited Tariff' option in HSD cards. But seriously, Arun is it GPS compatible too? And thanks Arun.. Activate button really helps and certain start-up/connection errors have reduced.

Its surprising that they have provided an 'external antenna jack', but its a good thing. Although ppl are paying 700-800 more for this HSD compared to a normal 1x DC, they're expecting the moon as far as speeds are concerned.. & surprisingly this time, RComm is living up to our expectations with this product. This external antenna should help in areas with weak signals.. but how to source it ? As you mentioned there's no jack in ZTE, Huawei is also clarified, then how will the same data card get converted to Voice/Data after 3G license ? I doubt it.. they are probably not even allowed to sell voice enabled devices !

^^^^ In which way would it be better ? Atleast from those reviews.. 1) Tata website has fake info.. they have mentioned it as 3.1 Mbps whereas REV-0 by nature gives Max 2.4 Mbps. 2) Upload is like CDMA 1x. 3) Available only in 5-6 citites compare to RComm's 35 + cities.

^^^ Yes.. one of my known sources went to Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi & enjoyed the services. But on reaching Pondicherry, he had problems.. i don't know whether *355 (DC helpline) has got a crash course in this subject & whether they really could help him get over it. But there's an option in settings: HSD/CDMA1x/Hybrid. For some ppl getting errors during connecting - jugling with these settings is helping.

^^^^ I didn't get the actual reason why you asked for a password. Are you talking about the User id & Password thats behind the box & did u mis-placed that ?

^^^ Is that activate button really there for a reason ? Never did that as it seemed a blank box & above all since the number was already provisioned in the HSD. It worked each time without the above, with new cards.. although i did get my own share of error messages.

Its just covering a screw.. If its torn - means someone has tampered with the phone.
