^^^^ I too felt that the Dept. granting this patent may have been at fault as he just patented the idea and not some specific technique/process. But in that case, why are these 'Biggies' not able to do anything about it ? Surely he has taken the right route or maybe we in India have weak 'Intellectual Property Right' laws. We all have mixed reactions.. But it would be wrong to accuse him merely on the basis of him conceptualizing an idea. Intellectual property rights has its own place in the legal system & around the world. If others do the same & make money, why not him.. although i dont know the intricate details. Anyways, its not just about supporting an Indian.. As far as buyers are concerned, it will not hit our pockets much. Here 'the early bird caught the worm' - you should have had the knowledge & willingness to file a patent if you could forsee this 'multiple connections / Dual technology' thing.

^^^ I guess its little incomplete.. 1) First ask your friend to take his own back-up on R-World or if youll have a Data Cable, do PC Sync. (FYI.. when i tried it once, it only uploaded, downloading kept giving errors. So warn him before hand with R-World) 2) Since both have numbers on RUIMs, its gonna be very easy.. after his Data is fully uploaded/copied, delete his full contacts as space will not be enough & contacts will get mixed up (Only 500 contacts in 6275). 3) Now insert your RUIM & download the phonebook from RWorld. (Hope it happens well) 4) Transfer it either to PC or use the "Move contacts" option to move it to your RUIM. 5) Turn by turn, copy this to your W299 phone. & keep clearing the RUIM for the next set. 6) Remaining is self explanatory.. Note: While doing transfer to RUIM card, the contacts break-up & the same name might appear 4 times if it has diff contact info like mobile, fax, office, email etc. No its not Samsung 2On. I tried looking up http://www.samsungcdma.in/ but no info on W299.

New problems with EVDO is it ? Any member who has posted this problem during roaming.. or any such news?

^^^^ Takes 2 mins to register after you insert the first time & then the setup screen appears. 10 mins to load the drivers.. Another 2 mins to recognise the hardware. During this time.. dont interuppt it anytime midway.. Then put the MDN no as User ID & Pasword.

I too saw the website & very surprised too see it mentioning 3.1 Mbps http://www.tataindicom.com/HSIA-photon-usb.aspx Since this is in writing on their official site i.e. legally acceptable, can the Customers not sue it for misleading them? Atleast put a star & say - "Actual bandwidth upto 2.4 Mbps" If RComm can get away with "Unlimited", why not them no matter how stupid it sounds? It mentions Coverage at the end of the same page (link given above) "This service is presently available only in select areas of Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir & North East States" but which NE states ? What non-sense. Any info on TATA website with regards to their technology i.e. Rev 0?

1) I think you made a mistake here - Unlimited Data 2) Can this also be done with Offices having Wifi.. i thought that was easier as suggested by fellow members. 3) Diff betweem Micro SD card & Flash Card ? Just another type or some fundamental differences. ^^^^ Same goes for you buddy.

Its a killer plan this TATA @ 9 PAISA. Nothing seems to come close to this for local calling. As far as RComm is concerned.. My Hello 275 plan is better than this new Hello 299 plan. All calls @ 50p flat. No free talktime but atleast peace of mind - no jugling with pulses.

^^^^ Actually your RUIM has a problem. Try it in other Old/New CDMA handsets.. it may not work there too. But sometimes, these 'problem' RUIMs work in older phones. @ choombak - I too really like the looks.. perfectly described.

Why not instead take GSM postpaid if available in Delhi.. Add STD 50 pack to make calls @ Re. 1 Add STD 249 pack to make calls @ 50p.

The one million minutes free is for calls within the network Thats fine.. but 1) Is it for a single user or what. 2) Period - Within 1 year ? Thatys why gimmick suits it.
