Tata Blackberry Excellent Plan
ACS replied to P. K. Daga's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Totally agree with Vikas Mahajan/Vinayak Pai's views.. I just loved his idea about STD Booths using it, which makes a lot of business sense. Only flipside is that they will have to make ppl talk on Speakerphones (Privately) to avoid layers of multicoloured earwax on the expensive phone! Else, im sure we have a few techies who can help the PCO community in 'somehow' connecting the Tata BB to their usual LL's.. If Tata's read this, they will surely withdraw this plan or put some restrictions on general public use. Its basically a 'Killer plan' if it's really going to be a reality, although only 2-3% ppl fit this calling pattern. @VinayakPai - need not fear of a roller coaster ride as in Postpaid, you cannot change once you commit a Tariff Plan. Only issue is 'voluntary' tariff migration for which RComm is infamous.. Tata's won't involuntarily migrate you to a diff plan. <unless they really feel something fishy (STD Booth type) is going on or they genuinely f**k up> @ksh@t - I fully respect all senior members, but i'm only giving info. @Sadikk - I think that u hv previously had a bitter experience with other calling cards. In RComm's Calling card we can simply dial *345..followed by the no, unlike airtel/BSNL where everytime you need to feed data to the IVR. You can save the number itself as *345001456789 and dial by name! Not too sure about the downtime as you mentioned. But the Rs. 2250/- 3 months validity plan would be great for you with cheapest rates. Cheers ! -
Don't know about BB 9500; But my friend, you have launched yourself well at RIMweb!

Is this also with Samsung 2On ? All CDMA RUIM enabled sets have a pretty simple copy option including the 3000 series. Why is Samsung acting like Gmail? Gmail lacks basic functions like no sorting options in the webmail.
-
No clue about pricing.. n no clue about availability. What a pre-launch.. as if its an iphone!

This thread is in the wrong category.. There is no reference to Samsung here. It should be in general discussions or something similar.. Request mods to kindly do the necessary.

Tata Blackberry Excellent Plan

You should be using the World Calling Card to get the best rates on ISD Calls. Reliance has exeptional rates for US/Canada on the world calling card. But in Europe & other few other countries, Only ISD LandLine calling is relatively cheaper. See this link:- http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communication...m/Rm/rm_rwc.jsp -
The service centre guys again called him & again replaced that instrument with a new one. They had to do this cause they were not able to retain his old number. They are still struggling..

Hmm, Spice may be full of issues.. But they are smart, they give 2 batteries. Atleast a person needs Dual with battery life if not anything else.

I think the Treo 775p has stolen the thunder from this thread. All members are sitting in the Treo room no 775p. Its simple, this phone doesn't seem worth talking about although it seems more advanced - model number wise.

Ok.. It successfully works with Vista. We need to dowload the Drivers, which strangely runs the Setup as D88 ! Anyways, the dialler needs to be created & you are ready to go. However, the default 'Auto-Disconnect due to inactive state' option of 'Never' - Never works. The phone by default gets dis-connected in 2-3 mins, whether active/inactive. Set it for 5 mins & you can trick the phone. Probabaly this phone has another inherent Chinese manufacturing problem..

^^^ Dear member, I think you are right here. Regards. He..he.. Of course, theoretically the Ad explains it all.. you both are right. But my point here was, the advertising agency needs to start thinking beyond work/play concept. In general, this concept will sell to general public who are happy to combine 2 phones into 1. But, does a person take 2 phones for work & play respectively? Majorly, its due to benefits derived from difference in Tariffs/Network coverage/Overall service etc. Its difficult to change old mobile no's & carry multiple accessories of 2 phones... therefore buy Dual. Not 9to5 work & 5to9 play !

Yes, on paper, C 810 is anyday better. But then, its a Spice which has to have issues. Lot of complaints regarding Speaker/battery/firmware. But once rectified, its ok. Lucky if u get a problem free phone.
-
Is this available in Bangalore? Also, why does the AD say Living-CDMA & working-GSM ? This topic itself is worth starting a new thread.

To push its Data card Sales, RComm has resorted to cheap tactics by publicly declaring & publishing that their Data Cards are 4 times faster than Dial-up. Now the general perception we all have is that both are having similar speeds; just that u get All India mobility in the Data card. But by putting such advertisements, could they have entered a Danger Zone ? It may be wrong to publish such statements without the * conditions apply clause. But they might just get away since they didn't mention which Dial up..

Talking about Tata.. Its a general notion that Tata is a better performer than Reliance. Since they both work on the same CDMA platform, whats the big diff.. Is it low subscription in Tata, so lower traffic ?
-
@ksha@t.. The service centre will do a free software recycling/upgradation once u convey your issues. But be careful to take a back-up of your contacts on the Memory card or PC.

But it doesn't seem to be ergonomically designed. Just look at the 1.5 inch piece of metal on the rigth side. Can you hold it comfortably and type with 2 hands ? -
In my opinion, never rush to buy any new/upgraded model of whichever Brand especially Spice (with a relatively weaker backgroud). Wait for atleast 2-3 weeks, read reviews for such phones on this Forum. Many newbies join, express their views & ask for help. Based on that.. most ppl decide what to buy. Bsides, almost all phones are nowadays made in China but it seems that Spice still has quality control issues especially in C& D series. All new models tend to have issues which takes these Brands time to address & rectify. (eg. Nokia N95) The new batches then start having lesser problem but at our expense & feedback. Even the ppl who rushed for Apple i phone experienced some drawbacks.. but the after sales service is different in U.S.

Google search the forum.. These discussions have happened and answers have already been reported.

By its very nature, GSM is slower than CDMA where Data Card are concerned as my friends too have righty pointed out.. Ppl complaining about CDMA Data card; could be due to Bad Network/Signals or some software problems/conflicts with System. Last possibility is that Data card could have a mnfg defect. Saying this cause a lot of Top Corporates prefer Airtel for mobile connectivity in Bangalore.. but Data cards have to be CDMA.

Started RIM Webbing few months back.. Now, its difficult to give up RIMWeb.. its my favourite habbit/hobby/Pastime. Not to mention a great place to interact & share views about RComm. Always around...

Hi.. there are issues recently with LG 3000/3100 phones especially with the micrphone.. 1) Some crackling/breaking sound is present throughout the entire conversation. (Only 40-50% is audible). 2) Only sometimes during the day, the voice (mic.) is clear & both ppl are able to communicate freely ! 3) Problem persists in all locations/areas in Bangalore and not just a tower location. 4) Its not an issue with any particular batch since phones bought few days back or even months back have the same problem only off late.. i feel there is a problem with the MICROPHONE coupled with NETWORK as complaints are pouring in to ASC's since last 7-10 Days only. They agree that a lot of ppl are coming in with similar complaints.. Regards, ACS

Anyways.. Both these phones will now missed since the new avatars in the 3K series are finding it difficult to visually impress buyers. But.. Hopefully LG 3510 should do a good job for LG & Rcomm, keeping in mind it is not dogged with defects.

Firstly, if that is your only back-up, you will need to find someone with a Ruim enabled handset having RWorld phonebook tranfer option. (Posibilities have come down after Ruim based sets are introduced) If you call up *333, most probably they will tell u its Nokia 6275, in the recent times. Transfer that person's phonebook to RWorld & delete the original Phonebook.. Transfer your Ruim Card to that phone & download your saved phonebook with the password thru RWorld. Transfer your phonebook from that phone to the Ruim card - use the move option during copying. Now load back his old phonebook.. We leave it upto u; how u get hold of someone with this phone temporarily. Cheers..
