I was told by a reliance store guy that when a connection is taken a base pack is automatically added like 100mins talk time, 100sms and 2gb data. Apart from this for lyf owners they activate another unlimited pack is also activated. The base pack could be used with any phone but the unlimited pack works only with the phone we bought.

You can try OpenWRT on your router. I had read somewhere that it supports usb tethering on android phones.

I own a Moto X Pure Edition. No update for MXPE too till now. Technically MXPE supports VoLTE in US but here when I inserted rjio SIM, it said VoLTE is not supported. Wondering whether an update is required specifically for rjio.

Not completely sure about TN. I am from Kerala, As per the latest information from here the migration might start from July (This includes Karnataka & TN as well). We can assume that it will be delayed further but anyways not before July for sure. Now the problem is, since migration has started in Northern states and they are shutting down the CDMA network, people like me can roam only in South India. What a pathetic situation till the migration is completed for everyone.

I am from Kerala circle. So far haven't received any SMS regarding upgrade. I was just wondering what happens to their customers who are in international roaming?

Is this different from the new One World SIM they were sending out to the CDMA IR users or is it the same?

Dear Friends, I got a brand new Moto X Pure Edition from US. Theoretically it is supposed to support all CDMA frequencies. Unfortunately, when I tried putting in my Reliance CDMA SIM, it was not catching Reliance CDMA signal. Any idea what could be problem? I tried an Airtel GSM SIM and that worked. So, I was suspecting it to be problem with wrong band or due to locked bands. And the worst part is, I played with phone testing and unknowingly set the band to USA band and now it is not even hooking on to a GSM network. Somebody please help me. Thanks Nibin

Nope. I am still on 1x. This is a great phone otherwise. I love it. Hope somebody would figure out a solution for this issue.

I couldn't get hold of a precut nano SIM. So, I had to get a Mini SIM cut into nano. Unfortunately, its the same issue with the new SIM as well. Only 1x and no EVDO. Strangely, if I go to the testing menu and change preferred network type to "EVDO only", the phone connects to EVDO Rev A but the no calls and SMS work (only data). Now I have switched it back to CDMA Auto PRL and its back onto 1x network. So basically phone supports 1x and EVDO, just that its not connecting to EVDO for data while the network type is set to CDMA Auto PRL. For the time being, I believe that I have to live with 1x until someone cracks this issue.

I tested my SIM card with another handset HTX Desire XC and to my surprise both 1X and EVDO worked in that phone. Also, I tried another SIM in my Moto X Pure Edition and it also connects only with 1X and no EVDO. So, now we can confirm the issue is with the phone and not Reliance. Infact, in the About menu where we can check the signal, it is showing only 1x signal and no EVDO signal. Can somebody tell me if there is anything I can do about this? The phone specification says that it supports CDMA 800 / 850 / 1900. It should be supporting both 1x and EVDO right?

Thanks babaji. Infact I have already tried *222 and instacare app but in vain. They all have closed the tickets after 2 days saying that there is nothing wrong at their side. I have a feeling that there is indeed some incompatibilities w.r.t EVDO between Reliance SIM cards and Moto X Pure Edition. I am yet sent a mail to appellate authority as Satish had suggested; as I wanted to confirm that the issue is with Reliance and not the phone before sending out the mail. So, until we have a solution, I do want to warn all prospective buyers of Moto X Pure Edition about this EVDO issue with Reliance CDMA.

Sorry for the late update. I was out of station for a few days. The whole issue was with the SIM card. I tried with my another OMH SIM card and it was able to connect to the network in 1x mode. Strange thing is both the SIM cards are RECRUC06 series and my original OMH SIM card still works with my Motorola Droid Maxx. But still I am not able to connect with EVDO data with the new SIM card. Data is working only with 1x mode. I tried sending HSD to 55444 but it says that my request could be processed at this time. Can somebody help me with this ?

Thanks Parin Bhai. I can do that. Just a new piece of information. With phone testing tool and multiple trial & error I got it connected to 1x network finally. But still it's refusing to connect to evdo network and also no data. Also, I noticed that the connection is lost when it switches from current tower to the next one. I thought that Moto x pure edition is completely unlocked and work out of the box with our CDMA networks. Motorola support was saying that it works only with CDMA networks in U.S.

Motorola Droid 4.4.4 update locks cdma ruim support, Do Not update.

Nothing to worry about data and SIM compatibility. The new update is just a small security patch which fixes a few security flaws. So after the update temporary rooting with KingRoot will stop working. -
I have noticed a peculiar problem with a few Verizon CDMA phone on RCDMA network. The problem is we cannot send international sms from those phones. I have tried with both 00 and + as prefix e.g: 00441234567890 and +441234567890 I am getting an error message like "Message not sent" At the same time I am able to send national messages (i.e. within India) with both 00 and + prefixes as well as without prefixes. The phones on which I have tried this are: 1. Motorola Droid Razr M 2. Motorola Luge 3. Motorola Droid Maxx Can somebody throw some light on what could be the problem and/or any solution for the same.

Can somebody reply if you are able to send international sms from you Verizon droid phone?

My issue is bit more strange. I am able to send SMS to all over India with and without indian ISD code prefixed (0091 and +91). But I am not able to send any SMS to a foreign country for e.g UK number with +44 or 0044, I get this error message "Message not set"

Hi All, I am unable to send out international SMS from my Motorola Droid Razr M. At the same time I am able to send out local and national text messages. It's so strange that I get a "Message not sent" error message when I try to send out an international SMS from my phone. A quite interesting fact is that, I tried the same with my father's Motorola Luge phone and I get the same error message. Is it that with Motorola phones we cannot send out international text messages ?? I have tried with numbers prefixed with both 00 and + but same result. The OS version in my phone is Kitkat 4.4.2. BTW, my father and myself are on Reliance CDMA. Thanks Nibin

Does that really matter as long as apps and basic functions works smoothly? Does any iPhone user bother about free memory? I do not think we should be bothered about memory management much if the phones works smoothly....

Motorola Phones: Reliance CDMA Data Issue On Android 4.4 Kitkat
nibin replied to vakharia's topic in Motorola
I can help you with data on your device ..u need to pm me with your build version and your apn window screenshot. Are you willing to share the details? Thank you for this input. I will ask my dad to change the SIM, but probably he won't be able to obtain a micro-SIM since he has a pre-paid connection. Anyone else who has tried with micro-SIM? Please post results here. BTW: I have not been able to make any progress with Motorola so far. I had faced exactly same issue with my Motorola Droid Razr M after the update to kit kat. I bought a new OMH SIM card from reliance store. It was a normal sim but they cut it to micro for me. After inserting that sim, I got an option to add apn in the apn screen with a + button. I added an apn called rcomnet with username and password as my mobile no. After saving it and selecting that apn, in a couple of seconds my mobile got connected to evdo network and data started working. Also with my old sim I used to get a message saying that my sim was from an unknown source after power on. With the new sim, that message had disappeared. So I suggest you try a new sim and add rcomnet apn.- 64 replies

Hi Vijay,Are you going to post the step-by-step instructions to enable DATA back on Reliance CDMA for Kitkat users? Hi, I had the same issue after upgrading to kit kat 4.4.2. Simply, to try my luck, I went to reliance store a bought a new OMH sim for Rs 4/-. To my surprise when I inserted the new sim, I got an option to add APN. I created a new rcomnet apn and gave my mobile no. as username and password. After a few seconds I was connected to evdo network. To my surprise, with the new sim, wifi tethering is also working without any Verizon subscription check.
