Anybody got their security deposit amount from Rcom? Or is it a very high hope expecting money back from them in a time like this?
-
Not Chotta Mallya. He is a 5x Mallya. Mallya had only 8K unpaid loans but Ambani has 44K unpaid loans. God knows what will be effect on this 44K bad loans on the banks.

Hope that helps customers who are on international roaming if there are any.

Just a doubt. Ain't this figure looking so huge because of VoLTE and video calls too? Of course, free data also contributes to this number. So, once the interconnectivity isssues are solved the usage would be still high compared to other operators though it may not be as big a number as 16K TBs.

If you are not going to pick up the incoming calls, you will not be charged for sure. But be prepared to pay the monthly rent of 150rs for IR service.

Incoming SMS is always free even with the base IR plan. You have to be careful when roaming in US (only in US). You will not be charged for incoming missed calls. But beware if you are latched onto AT&T or T-Mobile network, all outgoing attempts are charged irrespective of whether your call was picked up at the other end or not.

Jio working even in 2G using RCOM
nibin replied to balac_m's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
I just now tried here in Trivandrum, Kerala. It didn't work for me. My JIO sim is connecting only to LTE network. Maybe in your circle they are testing integration with RCOM 4g network. -
Yes. You are right. I just tried now and it didn't work either on my home wifi. So, it requires you to be connected to Jio network either through Jio 4g or Jio wifi I believe.
-
Does this mean that I can use JioJoin overseas as well and using Wifi i can receive and make calls? An alternative to expensive international roaming?

JIO SIM without LYF handset
nibin replied to vishalgupta171's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
My brothers company is a construction management company called Sparrow construction management. It looks like somebody from Rjio directly approached them for connections. Don't think they are from reliance digital stores. -
JIO SIM without LYF handset
nibin replied to vishalgupta171's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
What I heard is they are giving postpaid corporate connections to companies with 90 days unlimited offer. In my brother's company they had given sims to all employees yesterday who submitted the id proof along with company ID card. But their connections are yet to be activated though. -
Mmm. That's weird. Your signal bar also shows that you are roaming. Are you anywhere near the border?

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
nibin replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Any idea whether we will be able to use jiojoin app outside India to receive and make calls/texts? An alternate solution to expensive international roaming. -
That's good news if RCOM starts volte. Otherwise there's no advantage to stay with RCOM. Any idea whether they will have some solution like jiojoin app for non-volte phones?
-
Reliance 4g working for me and my wife too. Trivandrum, kerala circle. Getting 7Mbps download and 2Mbps upload at my place.

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
nibin replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
For those who have completed the 90 days preview period by now. Others may have to wait till they complete the preview period. -
This is very important. Unless they implement VoLTE, it doesn't really make sense for people with 4g handsets to stick with RCOM. At least in states like kerala where they don't have 3G network at all. Moreover, the voice clarity is below average in my place at least. One thing I heard from one of the old employees of RCOM is that they are currently concentrating on the Aircel merger not on any network expansion. In fact he also told me that though it is projected as a merger, it's more like selling RCOMs wireless business to Aircel and most of the key positions in the company would be taken up by Aircel employees. Not sure how far this is true. But I believe it to some extend with my experience of sending a mail to RCOM appelette authority and I am yet to get an acknowledgement or response of some sort even after 3 weeks. It seems that RCOM doesn't really care about their current customers. They are busy selling their company to Aircel.
-
Then what will be RCOMs value proposition once JIO is launched. Why would somebody use RCOM?
-
+ Those wanting to have better coverage would choose JIO over RCOM. I have both RCOM and JIO connections with me. Last week on my way to my mother's place in central Kerala, I found that JIO has better coverage in remote areas than RCOM for voice at least. RCOM I found coverage almost nil at many places on the way.
-
Now if we go to the 4G page at rcom.co.in we can see all the 21 circles listed in the selection box. Anyway nothing really interesting to see there but probably that hints at 4g launch at all circles immediately. maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow?

Ya.. I searched network manually and saw all networks except Reliance. Since I was on roaming, I thought it might allow registering on other networks like aircel or tat docomo. But none of the networks allowed me to register with their network. I don't understand why they want to exist for name sake.
-
Don't say that they are going to provide better coverage . Last week I was at Bangalore International Airport and I was very much surprised to find out that Reliance has NO coverage at an international airport.
-
Exactly. I had a terrible experience. I was roaming in Japan while the migration to the new 4G SIM happened. I lost signal in phone without any warning. They should have at least informed me about the switching by SMS or calls but that never happened. Since I had carried my 4G SIM also along with me, I tried contacting the customer care and asked them to activate IR on my new 4G SIM. They said they will do it but it never happened. I kept calling them and they showed no interest in helping me. I was left with a SIM and Phone with no signal and also lost significant amount of money making international calls to these idiots. This shows how irresponsible they are. They don't even care or bother about the hurdles faced by their International Roaming customers.
-
Is there anybody who has gone through the upgrade while roaming internationally? I have the 4g sim with me but roaming on the old one world CDMA sim in Japan? Any idea how I can know when to switch and how? Have sent a mail to customer care but no response yet. I am from Kerala circle.

Yes. since one month or so for me instacare app does not connect to the server while on mobile data connection. If i connect to internet through WiFi, then insta care app works.
