  1. ^ Great !. And its more or less true. Samsung should actually start advertising like this.
  2. Cloud Services

otixo is quite good. You can just add do 'map network drive' on any OS, point it to https://dav.otixo.com & give your otixo login/pass and all the cloud storage services appear inside that drive. No client required to be downloaded.
  3. I haven't used this specific model but sometime back i had to use a number of such dongles for sms in a industrial automation equipment and one Quick & dirty method I can suggest is to install wammu/gammu http://wammu.eu on linux and if its sending sms successfully then do a ps to check the command line options it is using to send sms and then use the same in your app. Or you could download the hardware manual for the micromax model which should be on huawei site (or what ever rebranded chinese equipment micromax is using) and then do it the proper way. Is the micromax dongle able to send SMS from its own dialer etc ? Because not all dongles even support sms. check http://wammu.eu/phones/ to see the capabilities of specific models. If the micromax/huawei dialler doesn't show SMS option (but dongle actually does support sms) then you can use "huawei mobile partner" - search on google for it as its not maintained by huawei anymore but one good gujju guy selling 3g modems has it hosted on his site. If its sending sms from HMP then maybe you can see the port its using. You'll also have to try various permutations of the baudrate & other settings if not evident from HMP. I have found its faster/simpler/cheaper & more reliable to just check wammu site for supported model and buy only those models rather than trying to get any random model to work. Many of the chinese manufacturers have undocumented quirks in their hardware which needs some strange initialization string or something. EDIT: I can see that it does seem to support sms. see if HMP or Wammu/Gammu are sending SMS.
  4. Even i am interested in buying 1 credit if the price was a little lower. Maybe if 5-6 of us want to buy together ydiddy can offer some discount for rimweb ?
  5. I have found that JellyBean has Absolutely great battery life AS WELL AS performance. Though i was initially skeptical of trying out JB having just done ICS few months back but at least his JB ROM is great > CM10-20120723-EXPERIMENTAL-crespo4g-burnsra from xda. This is the first version where i find android GUI is as smooth as iphone. Otherwise in all earlier versions including ICS there was a lag/flicker sometimes (not always, but enough to make you feel your phone is slow) when moving between screens or opening multiple apps or if you had live wallpaper. This rom has just the minimum required additional things and no bloat. Only thing is you have to replace the boot animation since that has a CM icon (some sort of kiddish alien logo which i hate). Just flash the JB bootanim file after flashing the ROM and GAPPS. On ICS i only like peteralfonso.com roms (bugless beast) which doesn't have any funny extras like all the other xda guys and has good battery life as well as performance. But no Project Butter as in JB.
  6. This is in eBay deal of the week. Last day today. 29 already sold so far. This is an excellent 40" LED. I have seen this model personally. It is sold for 51-52k with bill & warranty. http://www.ebay.in/i...em=170888354312 This is with dealer's warranty which is as good/bad as no warranty but because of ebay system, you can take it as testing warranty. Even if you personally go to Thailand to buy this LED TV, it is going to cost same or 1-2k more. Today the same TV is in Ebay Wakeup Deal with 1 Year 3rd Party ONSITE warranty for Rs 36,999 >> http://www.ebay.in/i...#ht_4354wt_1139 On reading these Seller's negative rating comments i am not feeling very confident about ordering this. Don't know, maybe its normal to have some negative customers. Has anyone here ordered this product or any other product from one of these sellers ?
  7. Thanks Kamal bhai. BTW, the box signup link we get in our email (after signing up with hellosign) can be used multiple times. In fact, no need to even sign up with hello sign really if you don't want to - just go to the link and sign up https://www.box.com/.../o/hellosign_25
  8. Thanks a lot Parin - that was really quick. Good that you have given the screenshot with reliance settings. I was wondering if I should buy 1 credit and go ahead with trying this. Will do so now. Seems simple enough. I have few queries though: Do I need to be on iOS5 for this ? If yes, then anything to be careful about ? since many people have sms/call etc problems. And obviously i'll need to get EVDO activated first on that number. How do I do that ? And, thanks Majrul & Yanky for finding out about the tool even before its launch.
  9. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Somebody PM me the name of the ^ app. I am getting unbearably curious and don't want to waste time digging around the interwebs
  10. Filing Income Tax Returns

Digital signature is around Rs 1000/- (if you need a usb token then its little higher) or Rs 1400 for 2 years. I use www.e-mudhra.com/ but you can get links of other digital signature providers from the income tax site FAQs: https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/faq.do click on 'digital signature related questions > providers' - https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/faq_signature.do#DCQ4 You need a Class 2 personal certificate/signature (DSC). But if you don't use the DSC for anything else then its not much use to get it only for IT return. You might as well send 1 page form by post after filing the xml online.
  11. Filing Income Tax Returns

^ I always file directly on income tax dept site. ie https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in - without digital signature for last few years and maybe i'll do with digital signature from this year. Just download the excel ITR applicable and fill it up and generate xml (after validate & calculate buttons) and then upload the xml to above site. Either digitally signed OR print & sign a 1 page form and send to IT Dept by snail mail.
  12. Best Of Internet

^ Believe me some people have NO CLUE on how to search. Especially the really young facebook twitter kids in schools. Some of them actually click on 'I am lucky' and if its not answering their problem then they stop. Some of the better ones see few things on first page of google and then stop and come back saying it can't be done or it can't be found etc. I have never clicked on 'i am lucky' - not even to check what it brings up. For most difficult issues i still go through 5-10 pages of google links - reading and checking out all promising pages and opening links from those pages etc. And this after probably refining search terms 5-6 times by adding removing words & operators in each step to ensure useless stuff doesn't appear. Offcourse, on rimweb I do a quick search and then I just ask Rajan ! shamelessly. Its much better than all the artificial intelligence Google can build in next 10 years.
  13. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

^ Yes, even I could never get ICICI mobile app working on CDMA phones - neither on BB nor on Nexus. Keeps saying 'checking gprs - ok' and then says 'sending sms' but never really manages to go beyond that. Works fine on gsm phones though. Has anybody got ICICI working on ANY CDMA phone ? (mobile App. NOT ICICI web page - that works ok)
  14. Very sensible advice from Rajan. Please don't buy things unless you really need them. Remember, that most electronics will fall in price or increase in capacity every quarter - so it might be better to buy it when you actually need it. Apart from the waste of money, its also a big waste of TIME in keeping, maintaining, using those things just because you have them. Off course, some mouth watering deals in Rajan's topic are irresistible
  15. How To Enhance EVDO Signals?

use this radio D720SPRLC1 from here: http://download.peteralfonso.com/crespo4g Install Rom manager from market first if you don't know how to flash ROM/Radios. You can also use this ROM: crespo4g_2012-06-09 from this page: http://download.peteralfonso.com/crespo4g/rom (its the last one on the page). Its quite good for NS4G. Anyone has any fix for the poor WiFi reception on Nexus ? Mine only works when in the same room as the router ! While iphone/laptop/BB all work in other rooms and even outside the house.
  16. ^ ...and will the earlier meid based username/password for EVDO keep working OR do we have to change it to net/net now ?
  17. ^ the pdf mentions 5.0.1. Is it essential to be on iOS 5.0.1 ?
  18. Anyone has any idea what's the best place to get a good deal for ipad3 ?
  19. Transcend Class 4 speeds seems to be much better than most other brands - wether they are class 4, 6, 8 whatever. If you are comparing between Transcend itself - ie Trasncend class 4 vs Transcend Class 6 or higher - then the higher class might be better - i really don't know. I boot some embedded systems from microSD, so speeds matter a lot; and after Rajan's great SDCard review i found Transcend class 4 does actually give the best performance so i never buy any other ones. Even for my Blackberry i can see a difference when opening files from microSD or running apps storing their data/parts on the microSD
  20. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Does it mean it won't work on WIFI ?
  21. Run the memory check in BIOS. If its OK then Boot with a livecd and see if it still reboots. See if you have a disk check option in bios, if its there you can use that instead of livecd. These 2 things should tell you about any memory / hard disk problems.
  22. Its showing me Rs 706/- for 3 x 8GB pendrives ? Do i have to put any discount code or have they increased the price by now ?
  23. Can someone tell me whom to contact for getting Data on iphone 4 cdma ?
