Wow, that's really a good price for a dual core phone. My wife wants to buy Samsung Galaxy S (gsm). Is this better in every way than that ? Also, does it have gorilla glass ?

Thanks shripal. bought it. Good deal. This model has a very small usb bluetooth adaptor so i had been looking to buy it since some time. Though i had to buy 2 extra Rs 49 coupons since while using 1st coupon code i got an error on payment step but on retrying again it said coupon is already used up. Then, while buying 2nd coupon the transaction went through and hdfc deducted Rs 49 but sosasta said error and didn't generate any coupon. Have complained. @manujgupta: The voucher box comes on the next screen after checkout. left hand bottom.- 6,376 replies

Here is another infographic on the law suits in telecom/technology sector :

There's also Palm LifeDrive which 'inspired' apple:

It seems apple is suing mostly over trademark look & feel of the hardware and software UI & some Design patents - saying that galaxy phones/tabs are flat with rounded corners and rows or app icons etc all of which look like apple products ! ! No great tech invention patent or anything. This looks quite desperate on apple's part. Here are some images from their lawsuit:- images are from here & here

Finally, proof that Android & Samsung Galaxy are now really successful. Apple can't beat them technically or with its great marketing so it now upto the lawyers !

Yes it is Rajan. You are amazing. I have been searching for an hour on ebay, ebay global, letsbuy etc. but never found anything below 16K. Thanks a lot. BTW, have you bought anything from adexmart ? Anyway, i think i can safely go in for the Cash on Delivery option. Can open the box & see before paying the guy if anything seems doubtful.- 6,376 replies

Select upto zoom level 15 (ie 1 to 15). Beyond 15 the number of images/size becomes too big. upto 14 its hardly a few thousand images. Usually you won't need to zoom in beyond 15. Initially you can even do only upto 14. then once its working properly go to 15 or 16 if you need. NavIT gives a 3D type of view like the GPS navigators in cars. maptool is like google maps etc. NavIT also has voice directions etc so its technically very good. But i never used it too much. You can install both and try them out for some days. You can copy the navit maps by connecting pre in usb drive mode.

Actually, I think the only reason people buy iPhone in India is because its expensive and so a status symbol. If it was not expensive, there would hardly be any reason to buy it. At least here in India. In fact most people i have seen with iphones (except a few youngsters) hardly use anything except calls/voice. The people who use all features apps etc go in for slightly cheaper but better android phones.

BlackBerry, Skype, Gmail and now 3G come under the scanner of Indian Government
ami1 replied to faizone's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
That's why they have been trying to push the responsibility to Telcos to offer decrypted real time tapping. But even if RIM nokia Skype Google etc give the decryption keys to govt whenever required, people will start using their own encryption programs - and specially the bad people - which telcos or manufacturers will not be able to decrypt. So unless the govt sets up huge GPU clusters decryption facilities like NSA there is no solution to this problem. Plus such Govt facilities in India may or may not be actually efficient. So its easier to keep harping on either banning services or asking others to provide 'understandable' interception. It doesn't matter that the baddies have their own highly advanced encryption suites and will not be affected by all this security theatre. Just a waste of time and money. Its like having licenses for guns. It never stops or affects criminals - only law abiding citizens who wouldn't be doing illegal things anyway. -

ami1 replied to faizone's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
I heard that DOT has told Home Ministry that it should have its own decryption infrastructure, like agencies do in other countries, since its not feasible for service providers or manufacturers to provide decryption as end users may be using their own encryption methods. -

Maybe Offtopic but, I just saw this - Some chinese guy was selling external hard disks which actually had only a 32MB flash pendrive inside. Some of them edit the File allocation table & write a big capacity there like 500GB so that OS will keep overwriting file and cycling through same 32MB. Some others actually have a IC which does this work so even if you reformat the con still works Some time ago I had bought a 32 GB pendrive from a guy in Santa Cruz once - for Rs 700. Checked to see it is writing 20 GB but didn't think of copying back the file. Few days later i realized its only 2GB. if you copy beyond that it won't copy back. Unlike ebay etc i couldn't get refund as guy had vanished. Felt really bad getting conned like that even when i tested in on laptop. Guy told me he is a driver and found few packs of the 32gb pendrive left behind in his truck so he doesn't know how much its worth and is selling for 700. My greed got better of me and i bought one. But, I gave it to my daughter who has luckily not yet reached 2GB with her files since last 1 year ! So she's happy she has BIG 32 GB pendrive to show off in school- 6,376 replies

Complete Tutorial: Webos 2.1.0 Bypass Rom And Adobe Flash On Palm Pre! *simplified*
ami1 replied to cooldude9848's topic in Other handsets
I am getting the error message that my hardware/phone does not support webos 2.1. I have a sprint PRE (not pre plus). Should i follow the other tutorial to install it on my PRE ( i am assuming since u made it for verizon pre+ so the script for sprint pre wouldn't have run) ? Another unrelated problem: when i put pre in diag mode with mpt d userial qxdm/cdma wksp/qpst etc say that phone is in download mode so they can't connect. What is this download mode and how do i get out of it ? -
^ But, I actually love it. Had been waiting for its launch for quite some time. Its the only BB with a good GPS and browser (if you are on OS 6). Offcourse, i am on R CDMA.

Complete Tutorial: Webos 2.1.0 Bypass Rom And Adobe Flash On Palm Pre! *simplified*
ami1 replied to cooldude9848's topic in Other handsets
@cooldude: Am going to upgrade my Pre to your 2.1 bypass ROM tomorrow (once i get new battery ; current ones dead - doesn't even work with charger connected!) I want to know if all the games & apps etc will work on the new OS version or do we have to download them again ? If we need to download again, are all/most of them available or do we have to wait for developers to upgrade the apps/games ?
