After waiting for months for MNP, I am losing my patience, and my current Classic 101 handset is threatning to render me useless by its horrendous radiation heat, I have finally decided to buy a CDMA handset. My requirements (first needs and then wants) are as follows Needs: 1. Average to good battery life 2. reliability 3. Price around 1500-2000. MAX 3000 but not above. 4. FM Wants: 1. Something like moto w362. I love the specifications of that, but the online reviews have scarred me enough to not think about it. Is it really that bad or should I take chance? Because as per specs, that's the perfect phone for my needs (except point 2, it seems). User reviews requested. 2. Unlockable. I would prefer to have choice of service providers. It's not a deciding factor though (is LG3610 unlockable)? 3. Standard charger: This pretty much rules out samsung ones. But I am open to samsung if there is a good contender. Is motorola radio moto c210 still available and unlockable? How is it? I had a good experience on motorola, so like that company. I have a LG3500 at home, so if I get LG3610, then it would be good in a way because we will have 2 sets of chargers, handsfree etc. Loud FM, with FM radio is must. Therefore, brothers, please fire away your suggestions

I have a number on RUIM card, and a blank handset with no ruim slot (LG5130). How can I transfer the number from RUIM to non RUIM? HCC was not working on RUIM card, when I used it in LG3500. Also, if at all the HCC works, then what happens to original RUIM? Blank or does it go to waste?

This weekend, I roamed around for looking for CDMA options. Here's the rundown: 1. Samsung Guru Muzik: Despite what samsung advertises on the website, this DOES NOT have 3.5mm audio jack, which is really surprising. I had high hopes for this, but seeing that this uses the proprietary samsung jack is a turnoff. Couldn't get chance to test its '17 pi' speakes (can anyone tell what is 17 pi, and is it really loud or just ad gimmic?) Feels very sturdy and rough n tough in hand. 2. Samsung Mpower/mpower muzik: Both handsets look very very fragile, so they are out of the list. Mpower muzik rear panel looked like nokia 2865's, ever ready to take scratches from keys/coins etc. The 3.5mm in the mpower muzik is uncovered, so it leaves a big hole to see thru! 3. Spice 5300. This is a new phone from virgin, looks ok in hand, and have many features to boot in around 4750rs. If it is unlockable, then only will consider this. 6. LG 3610, couldn't get a chance to see this. So the competition now is in LG3610 (because of the price), guru muzik and C5300 (same range, diff features), and if unlockable, then vJazz. Will keep the community updated about my findings. Comments are welcome.

This is what I don't want to do. I don't want to block my sim. WHat the WW girl did is, first she reported you handset is stolen and then she recovered the number on the non sim phone. But in this process, the sim got blacklisted, and so you can't use it again. 100 + 25 Rs gone

If it is RUIM based, then other operator's card should work, because Nokia's RUIM handsets are usually network independent.

Any updates on the phone? I read there is an offer going on by Tata, of 500rs extra talktime. Any information on that?

Can someone please advise me on one thing? I am postponing buying a new cell just because I am waiting for MNP. I read it was due in september, and therefore am holding out on a dying CDMA handset. If MNP comes in September, I plan to change to BSNL, and then buy a decent GSM phone. But if MNP is not within 6 months or more, I may go for a CDMA handset now, because the number is important to me. Experts please voice your opinions.

I remember, that in Taj hotel, Mumbai, the bottled water was for 90rs/liter! 9000% hike! I wondered what exactly they did to command so much premium. At this cost, if I buy the bottle, I won't even touch it. I will expect some beautiful lady to come and pour the water in my mouth Duniya zukti hai zukanewala chahiye, nothing else. They are charging because people don't give a damn, that's the truth.

Wow, so the original RUIM can be used! That's great news! I'll try it again today WIll keep the community updated. BTW that idiot Webworld told me that the RUIM will be locked forever, even after the number is gone, and so my 100rs are wasted. Good to hear that's not the case.

The other method is to report the card as stolen, and then have the Reliance World ppl to restore it in your non RUIM handset. However by this, the RUIM card will be useless.
