Nokia 3500 is good. Nice keys, good display, FM, MP3 and 2MP camera. Battery life is less (BL4c). Price around Rs.5500.
-
Honest, you mistook the color black with black market? Seems not everything is honest about you huh? just kidding It's ani_meher, not anil guys.
-
@fortimepass: LG6600 is not available in black. Only color available is silver. N6275 battery is quite weak, we have a lot of complaints on this forum. Read that thread through before finalizing. Besides, cost of N6275 is double of LG6600.
-
Damn Too good to be true price. Then the 4550 must be dealer's price. And for original poster, LG 6600 for <5k is good, spice c810 is supposed to be good at 6k.
-
LG 8000 is for 4550! wow! I'll start planning to get one for my wife. Is it freely available, coz I'll have to replace her N1325 first.

Does any pune shop offer such discount? Many nokia handsets are capable of taking tata as well as reliance cards. Does any pune/mumbai shop offer such discount? Many nokia handsets are capable of taking tata as well as reliance cards.

Thanks everyone. If I may, let me quickly explain the settings of aperture. Aperture means how much the lens should take in, in crude terms. If the aperture value is small, then only nearby objects will be in focus, and far objects will be out of focus. If you are shooting portraits, small apertures help. If you are shooting nature scene or some gathering where everyone/everything has to be in focus, go for the largest aperture. However, objects too near to the camera will be blurred. In the above pic, cam was in Av mode, ie I decided the aperture and camera did the rest. Initially when the focus was on hand, it was much brighter and background was not turning out so well. When the aperture was set to max, background was given the priority, and the shadow effect was possible. Try it out. Looking for tips from others too. Let's learn together.

If you are paranoid about giving out your cvv number, and if you have hdfc account, you are in luck. You can create virtual credit card of predefined amount, and use it as valid CC for online shopping. It is a free service.

I would like to know if any one here in this forum working for any bank. Why I want to know is because when I was working for my earlier office 2 yrs back I had an HDFC salary ac for 1 yr I worked in that office. Now I moved to another office which has been 2 yrs and I have an ICICI salary act, so my HDFC act I dont do any transaction. When I asked the bank people they say to maintain atleast 5000 rs as savings in order to operate. I have my debit card and cheque book and everything. I want my account back without putting 5000 in that bank. Can this be happen, can any one from this forum working for HDFC can help me out? I certainly am NOT working with HDFC, but I can tell a few things abt the acct. Salery account is the best you can have for comfort, but once you leave that organization, your account is converted to regular savings account, where you need to keep 5000rs as minimum quarterly balance. If your don't keep atleast that much, you'll be fined 750Rs per quarter. It's ridiculous, I know, but that's the way it is. I thing the best option now will be put 5000 in that account so that it is started again (if it is locked), and then fully close the account withdrawing all your money. If you want plain savings account, search for any other bank. Bank of India has Minimum quarterly balance of Rs.500 I guess, and as it is nationalized bank, you'll get human service, and not strictly to the rules service. If you want all the comforts of HDFC and not willing to put 5000 in the account, then there is no way out for you.

^^^Actually, i guess it's u only who posted that CHDK can support optical zoom in videos right? that's what decided my choice finally.

HDFC bank is good too. I have it's lifetime free card, and so far, so good.

Not expert yaar! I am learning photography. I loaded the CHDK drivers on my a570, but couldn't explore much as my damn batteries went down. Will be testing it today onwards. One advise I can give you is, avoid using AUTO mode unless you are in hurry. Take your time learning Aperture and shutter speed, along with exposure. It will substantially improve your photos. For example, this photo was not possible with AUTO mode, the camera was in Av mode for this: Also, if possible, don't take photos while holding the camera in hand, even if the camera is IS (Image Stabilized). If you are taking group photos/party photos, then OK, but if you have a chance, always put the camera on 2 second timer, put it on some firm surface if no tripod is available, and then click. it will take photo after 2 seconds where there is no vibration at all, and the photos will be very sharp. Another thing, while going anywhere where you know you'll get to shoot nice photos, keep a bag of 100/200gm rice with you. that bag can take any shape with your fingers, so you can put your camera anywhere without fearing that it will fall/have a scratch. As for tripod, I myself am on a lookout for one, but on a shoestring budget. I may make a DIY tripod for timebeing, and then move on to good ones. You can search on google for DIY tripod, some are really good ones.

You can go for CHDK drivers. Search for them on google. They provide lots of onscreen info like live histogram, battery level info etc. Also, as you start learning photography (if you don't already know it), CHDK offers great control over the camera.

Good choice, a720. I recommended a570 because 2x zoom for me didn't justify the premium of 2k over a570. Enjoy your camera, and if you want to learn more about photography, start shooting in P, Av, Tv or M mode. the more you read and experiment, the more beautiful photos you'll get, and a720 is capable of that (unlike others that don't give you full manual controls.)

Higher optical zoom means you can get closer to the objects. Optical means the optics, lens actually moves in a way so that the object is drawn closer (think binoculars), and digital means only the photo is stretched so that you see more area in your actual photo (pretty useless, coz u can get same effect if you zoom in the image on your pc). If you are using digital zoom because the objects are not as close to camera as you want (like in zoo), you can try one trick. Click photo at the hightst optical zoom level and highest MP. then crop the rest part on PC so that the final image is smaller, but zoomed in on those objects.
