No way to add on 5130, except from R-World. Just few hours ago, I sent an mms to a 5130, and learnt this. There are no slots for saving outside images or ringtones, only R-World Tones. Ringtones/wallpapers from mms CAN NOT be saved on 5130. So be content for the given tones, or pay Rs10 (yep, no more Rs.7) for sh**ty R-World tones.

We live in a world of gadgets. From morning to evening, we are in constant touch of technology and gadgets. But we hardly know any facts or reasons behind those gadgets. The questions about them can be so simple, that it can be actually time consuming to search on internet for their answers. I am starting this thread, so that, we can post our questions, and get answers from the knowledgeble persons. For example, if you are staying in Mumbai, and travelling by western line, then you must have seen, that the indicator displaying the arrival time of train, also shows the minutes remaining. Many of the guys I have met didn't know how it is measured. It's actually very simple. If you see on the railroads, just next to the platforms, you will see a black box ON the railway. This acts as a counter for next stations. You can always confirm this, just see the engine of the train passes over the black box and enters the station, and immediately the minutes counter goes to zero. I will start with this question. In small mp3 players or mobile mp3 players, we have an outgoing socket, in which we can insert the pin of external headset, and listen the music. What will happen if I connect huge, 600-1000W speakers to the mp3 player? Will it still produce small sound only? Why? Also, if we connect the small speakers of a walkman to a 1000W system, and play it in full volume, what will happen at exteme cases?

Sorry!! It was a writing mistake. Obviously, by 'own powersource' I didn't mean it will be generating it's own power, but it has different electric cable for itself. My bad. OK. This question is very nicely answered in both detailed and simple ways. So here's the next question. About electric shocks. I've read number of times that if you are on wood or wearing rubber soles sandles, then you won't get electricity shock. And the reason is, as you are insoluted from ground, the electricity doesn't 'go in' (is the word right?) ground ie earth contact, so no shock. But I've got shocks even when standing on a wooden stool, wearing soles and other similar cases when I thought I was insulated. So am I an electric man or am I missing some concept here? I have also met some persons with literally 'electrifying personality'. Once, while a man was handling me a cd, I heard some spark sound - very subtle - and next moment I was getting shock FROM the cd, as we both were holding it. Even he felt it. He later told, that he usually gives such shocks unknowingly. What is the reason behind this?

ie along with increase in RAM Use Firefox or Opera for browsing internet, ditch IE. Use either Nod32 or F-Prot antivirus (don't know any other low memory AVs). Stay as away as possible from any product that has manufacturer name Norton. If you are using XP, then search on the internet tricks to improve the net speed from system itself. Even that is quite helpful. I don't think those external speed boosting softwares work. But you can try those also. And last but not least, get a firewall installed. Do the computer speakers have built in amplifier? And how to see whether any speakers have built in amplifier or not? Is it like the speakers with built in amplifier will have own power source?

I disagree. I have not much experience of Nokia, but I am using LG phones since long, first 2330 n now 6130. The only upside of nokia is the battery life, and that's it. Compare any LG phone with Nokia phone in any price range, n you will see that LG offers much more functions than Nokia, who is just happy to give bulky prices at unjustifiable prices, only because of brand name. Even I was eagerly awaiting for the newly launched 6255. But after its launch, I have become very reluctant of Nokia.

the price slot is perfect. Can anyone tell the accesories it comes with. Surely it won't be having any memory card at this price, but does it have the data cable? I am sure this phone will beat the hell out of sales of Nokia6135, who has just fm in comparison. Let's see where the prices go in a few days.

At Rs.8000, I feel this phone is way better that Nokia 6235, with addition of mp3 expandable memory, and video with sound(don't know whether Nokia 6235 can capture vids this long n that too with voice). You will miss out fm, but the other features are very good. Wish the screen as well as camera were upgraded, viz to 262K colors n 1MP each. Then even with a price tag of Rs10000, it would be worth. I am really waiting for LG to launch a flip phone with expandable memory. All the nokia flips are so bulky :shrugs:

Damn, I need to retake math 101. 450/365 is NOT <= 1 :whacking myself: . Right. But still, it's quite a steal. I have got a hi speed net at office, as well as my brother's office. So we don't need any hi download limit for us at home. Even if this offer has some cap of few MBs per day (but certainly not 1MB!), the small fee should justify it. Don't look at it as a downloading delight scheme. look at it as a browsing+mail checking at rediculously low rates.

6235 is a feel good piece, with hardly any spectacular feature. My suggestion is, wait for further 1-2 months. Even if the LG6230 is not lauched by then, it is likely that the 6235 will be available at lesser price.

I think only one ringtone can be sent per mms.about pics, i m not sure, but mostly 1 only. if at all u r successful in sending n receiving multiple tones/pics, then u'll be charged for ONE mms as Rs.3 per mms sent.

I m sorry, but it didn't occur to me to see the group sms feature. Rest phone is very cool. The 5050 price was at thane, at a big store, and not just a little sideway shop. If you tell them you want to buy right now if given a good price, I think you can get it at 5000 also. Do post your views abt this phone.

Yesterday only, I was looking for cellphones for my friend, and we saw this beauty. Lookwise, it's stunning. All nokias seem so bulky in front of this sleek cell. It's sceen too is good, with 65K colors. the sms capacity is total 200 smses, and when i opened the write sms option, the total words capacity was some 918 something. Dictionary is present. No additional frills like camera and fm, except that it has a speaker phone. A steal at this price, I'd say. The least price quoted with bill is Rs5050. I'm sure it will come to 5000 if bargained wisely. go for it.

See, if at all the LG guys knew how to back up the ringtones and wallpapers, and again put it back in phone, I am sure that method would be on this forum already. And the fact that we do not have any known method for doing this, is enough to make me believe that the LG guys won't be knowing it either. In short, be prepared to lose some talktime for saving those ringtones. You may try one thing. If you don't find any volunteer, try mmsing to yourself. As you are not downloading from the server, I guess the mms should stay there even after the phone format. But can't guarantee it.

Autocad is way too powerful. I really don't want to invest time 'learning' a software. I remember that software, somewhat like ms paint. The walls, windows etc are displayed as icons, similar to the line and circle tools in paint. Is autocad so easy, so as to draw in 2d and see the structure in 3d? coz i haven't used it yet.

I am renovating my house. So I am searching for some software in which I can draw the walls n plans as in the architect blue paper plan, and then can see it in 3d. I remember using such software 3-4 years back. It was very easy to use. Just draw in 2d, and view the house in 3d! Can someone suggest such software?
