Maybe you are right. The news of Huawei to set up manufacturing unit in India was in May itself. Maybe its talk with Reliance were successful. Here's a sample handset from Huawei. from this page But it is some "CDMA 450", which is above my head. Any techies, please? I sent emails to my 6130 2 days before, using the 1st SMTP method, and they went smooth. I sent about 10-15 mms, and then the thing stopped working. It showed the mms in the inbox, but gave error "unable to connect". Try whether that method is working for you.

But its release date is not yet announced. So I guess it will take another year so, before it actually gets launched AND working in India under Reliance (judging by the late arrival of 6255). But surely this is really good, symbian on CDMA. Will be surely waiting for this, but my advise is, don't wait for it for buying new handset. I mean, I waited for months for 6255 to get launched, and when I saw it, I was way too disappointed, and settled to 6130, which I could've bought 3 months ago. So buy the current phone you liked, don't postpone it for this cell. Also, it's weight. Man, 130g! Yes, it is heavily loaded with features, however, i wish it would be little lighter.

Whenever I try to creat a mms from the reliance mms site, I can only creat a text mms slide, but a image or sound slide cannot be created! Whenever I try to attatch an image and/or a sound (*.mid) it shows " An internal error has occurred. The operation could not be completed." I can't even add the sound while editing the text based slide! What is happening? <TOPIC MERGED!>

Actually the pics are not by me. It is taken from the site mentioned on top in that post. but it is not difficult also. I remember there are some screen capture softwares that have such settings, such as capturing the whole webpage etc. About the inability to click the email id in the ebay mail, we cannot click the link, because it is mailed as a picture! but somehow, in gmail, we are unable to save that picture. The right click menu just doesn't show 'Save picture' etc command! I had to forward it to my other mail so that I can open it as picture. One nice thing, gmail displayed a warning on top of this message, that the message didn't look authentic, and warned me about submitting any personal data. However, seeing me forwarding the spam mail, gmail must have thought that this guy is a spammer himself!

I have bought the 6130 today, for Rs6000 in Thane. Great piece, so far. I am not yet able to send mms online using my prepaid number. It shows Login failed. Please try again. Currently, MMS service through this portal is not supported for the kind of handset you are using ! This feature will be enabled soon. Mostly will get some postpaid friend registered soon. If you stay in Mumbai, and don't know these words, then you are not a pukka Mumbaikar. If you don't stay in Mumbai, and still know the terms, then you have good command on Bambaiyya Hindi, and have a good chance of merging in Mumbai easily. And of course, if you do stay in Mumbai, and know (even use) these words in day to day life, then brother, tum to aapan jaisaich aadmi hai! Enjoy..........

Actually I was about to buy 6130 yesterday only, but... Till that time, I was just clearing my doubts about this phone, and that's why I am finally getting this handset. Mostly I am getting it by tomorrow (hopefully), and then will let you know whether they have started allowing the mms site to prepaid guys. Thanks for the help.

Currently, MMS service through this portal is not supported for the kind of handset you are using ! This feature will be enabled soon. Is it because they know I am using 2330, or something that is not supporting R-World, or because I am not a postpaid user ? BTW, it's really nice of you guys, for being helpful!

I don't know whether it's just me or not, but whenever I installed this update (or even it's previous number) usually my pc got screwed in 1-2 weeks. I don't know whether it's coz of my use or the software. Even there is a program called 98 to ME or ME to XP something, that claims to bring XP effects to 98/Me. Did nothing except to polish up things a bit, replacing my notepad with some stupid alternative, and killed 98 in a few days. And trust me, after 7 years experience on 98, I am not at all a newbie that doesn't know what is supposed to be happening. So, a word of caution. Do make some back up copy of work, and if possible, a image file by norton ghost, so that you can restore the pc the way it was, if at all it gets screwed up. And do post your good/bad experience.

Yes, I am registered on the site. But that's it. I can't do any thing from that site except to see the page I have made up my (and a prepaid guy's) mind to have a prepaid number registered over there. Only thing, the terriff remains in dark. Hoping to join the 6130 gang at the earliest.

I was browsing the forum yesterday, and then thought, wouldn't it be cool to have a summary page for each phone. I mean, yes we have discussions on each phones, but it is very tiresome to go through 20-30 pages to find whether a single feature is present or not. For example, I wanted to find whether it was possible to upload ringtones/pics in 6130 using cable (not by MMS). Also, about the cost of mms etc. I could find that pics uploading is possible, but I still haven't found out whether ringtone upload (by bitpim, not by email) is possible or not. I am sure the answer is there, but the search features takes me to the thread in which the words "pics +upload +cable" etc are present, and I have t browse ALL the thread in hope to find that entry. Yes, reliance does give the features on their site, but we have much detailed info, like 6130 supporting amr, wav etc, or uploading mp3 in 6000, or using speakerphone in 6000 etc. I think it's high time we should plan something like this, which would be immensely helpful. Also, if possible, can you please tell me whether it is possible to upload ringtones/Pics using Bitpim in 6130? Because if yes, then I am buying it very soon.

The MMS portal can be used only by those who have post paid service. Atleast that's what *333 told. And I have a prepaid account only. Guess I'll have to make friends with postpaid guys I mailed the Chairman's office regarding the 6130. And this is their reply. This cleared a lot of things. I am sure the CC confused themselves with the hourly news clips and some other videos. Because as far as I remember, the hourly clips of Aaj-Tak, CNBC, India today etc were under the monthly 25Rs plan. Pls reply whether CC is right i.e. even those clips are charged now. Also, if anyone of you can confirm that we can send and receive unlimited emails (through Rediff etc, hope Gmail is supported) once we've paid 25Rs/month, I am getting the 6130 by sunday! So please guys, give response. Also, Chirag, do you know any other method of sending MMS, or should I look for some prepaid guys? Is it charged Rs3 per MMS sent by email? Or can we attatch the files to the emails sent by above mentioned accounts? According to the discussion in General Chat, I am starting this thread, with my current cell phone LG 2330. From Relianceinfo.com This phone is VERY light, even lighter than Samsung Slim. It's hardly seen even when kept in the shirt pocket. Even the display is refreshingly brighter than the Slim, or Motorola C131. Rythmic backlight works, but you start worrying whether this little cell can keep up long if it displays lights flashing. You CAN NOT download ringtone or wallpaper by SMS, either by other cell phone or by 8888. If you have done it successfully, let me know, and I'll change this. It doesnot receive ringtones SMSed by others. So don't waste your time, and possibly money. LMS means you can type an SMS upto 480 words, and it will go as 4 seperate SMSes to the target number. Haven't tested this, but I don't doubt that it will work as expected. SMS to Email DOES NOT work. Atleast till past 2 weeks. Hopefully things will improve, but hope is too less here. Airplane mode does what it says. Your phone is shut off from getting the connection, though you can use other functions of the phone exept calling. What's the use of that? Firstly, if you are in an area with less or no range, then each time the phone tries to search range, and eats lot of charge in the battery. Also, if you shut off this cell, then while starting again, it needs the range in order to display time. If you are in a No range area, you cannot use Alarm clock. This actually happened to me. So I think the best use of this function in such situations will be, turn the phone to Airplane mode once you come into the no range area, and then you can use the Alarm or phone book, as the time is displayed, and also the battery is saved. The phonebook is bit....problematic. For searching, it is nowhere near nokia or even Motorola C131. After you type the desired name, after 2-3 seconds it will show you the name. Also, you cannot append a number to the existing number from the list. Meaning, if you got call from your girlfriend from a new number than the existing number, then you'll have to type that number in her entry, you can't just 'Save to existing'. Ringtones are OK. Nothing great. The speaker is at the earpiece, so if the phone is face down on pillow, or even if the earpiece is pressed in your pocket, you will mostly not hear it. The Vibrations are strictly OK. Its support for Hindi is good. Unlike slim, you don't have to change the handset language in order to use Hindi. You can just change the font and use it. The Hindi SMS is received well by the Slim and also other LG CDMAs supporting Hindi. I haven't yet tried sending it to other opeartors, but it cannot receive Hindi SMS from other operators. It doesn't support R-World, or R-connect. The data cable can be used to back up some phone book and Scheduler, but haven't tried that. Someone confirm. In short, do not expect any flying colors from this mobile. If you want a mobile that doesn't divert your attention because of heaviness in pockets, and if you are tight on budget, then go for this. This is a no frills handset, but certainly leaps and bounds better than Samsung Slim (old, no idea about new Boss). It's usp is its weight, and it's actually the lightest one I've ever come across. In fact, because of this, I am unable to make up my mind for Nokia 6255, though technologically much superior, but almost twice of this handset's weight (N 6255 is 125grams). Hope that was useful.

Dear ani_meher, The answer is NO. Ringtones cannot be uploaded using bitpim, qpst or any other software directly thru' pc. MMS is the only known method as of now for 6130 model. 39665[/snapback] Oh Damn. Now I'll have to wait for another few months Hope new handsets are on the way!

As you say! The info on 2330 is posted in the LG forum. Hope we can get the collection of discrete posts giving all the possible information about each handsets. OK, after 2330, who's next?!!!

I can take up responsibility of LG2330. OK, it's not too much of a responsibility, but still, people are getting confused whether ringtone download is possible, whether hindi SMS can be sent to and from non LG Reliances and non-Reliance phones etc. I've been a user of this handset for last 3 months, and have enough experience. If you guys give green signal, I'll do the honours of starting an Info thread. What do you say?

I can't find answer to this question. Can ringtones be uploaded to 6130 using bitpim or QSPT(not by email)? Because if yes, I am buying that cell mostly this weekend... fed up of waiting anymore for new handset. Please reply.
