This is Samsung D600. The specifications of which you can read from the pics. According to Rediff.com's news, on June 29, 2005, we can get it in India in next 3-6 months. This is heavy page, with large images. I didn't have time to rescale them, so just linked them. Hope it makes it to India. http://www.mobilmania.cz/Files/Obrazky/art...ie/img00117.jpg http://www.mobilmania.cz/Files/Obrazky/art...ie/img00118.jpg http://www.mobilmania.cz/Files/Obrazky/art...ie/img00119.jpg http://www.mobilmania.cz/Files/Obrazky/art...ie/img00120.jpg

Oh yes, the a$$holes who initiated the one-state one-rate thing. Because of him we've saved so much money. Because of him we can make all Maharashtra (and also other states) local calls. Truely an a$$. Why won't he be like your preffered Laloo, ignoring Mumbai's local trains state, and taking care that more trains are available for outsiders to dump themselves in Mumbai. Ya, I see your point. Sadly, I don't agree.

Nice change. Way to go. But I didn't understand one thing. Why to put 2 images pointing to same link? 'Enter Forum' and 'Browse as Guest' point to the same link.

It's looks are so primitive, atleast by the pics. The 2330 looks cute. THis thing is looking damn too ugly.

I saw the handset yesterday. Actually a demo piece. An frankly, I was disappointed. The phone may have THE greatest features ever in Reliance phones, but it is way tooooo bulky. My God, when I compared it to my little LG slim ( for size only, and not for any features), it seemed so big. I was very disappointed, really. If at all that phone would be even as LG6000, it would've 1 more customer. But I just can't prepare myself for such a brick with me, when I am climbing in train, running to catch bus, or for that matter, even walking on street with that handset in my pocket. My LG slim doesn't show itself even when kept in shirt's pocket. I am sure for hiding, or neatly keeping the 6255 in your pockets, only suits will help you. Don't get me wrong, I know this phone is the best in services. Even I've waited it for so many months. But it miserably fails in size. If at all you are of the type who can keep their phone in their hands all day, then only it will suit you. If at all you are a regular type of user, then you are going to feel the weight each time. I am really sad. The 6255's 125grams were acceptable, had it not been that HUGE size. Even LG6000 is 110grams, it's quite sleek. I hope some day, Nokia will launch the 2255 flip phone (80grams) in India.

Reliance service was really great, especially when almost all others failed. When I was sitting in a hotel on tuesday, and my cell rang, everyone was looking " mobile abhi chaalu hai?!" Truely a great service.
-
Hey, did you see http://www.nokia.co.in/ ? They were previously displaying very few CDMA models in the upcoming models, but now there are many models. Do have a look.
-
WTF?! In the afternoon only, there were hell lot of Nokias! And it wasn't some other country's site, coz there was an ad below about the reliance HCC. i'll see whether I can find any page in the browser's cache.

Even I am bit reluctunt because of its weight. I use the little LG Slim, with absolutely no fancy features. But I am so much used to its lite weight design (it's 65grams), I am afraid the 6255 (~125 grams) will be too heavy for my pocket. Of course, when I think about its camera and video shooting ability, mp3 playing, blue-tooth, I am inclined towards it. As Munnamobile said, if the price goes less than or equal to 11000, then I will buy it. See, a 512 MB MP3 player costs around 5000-6000. Add the cost of Reliance LG 6130, as the alternate and affordable camera mobile. The price sums around 11000. Of course, adding a 512MB MMC to 6255 will set you back by 2500, but then the effective price will be 13500. Perfect price for a handset packed with such functions anyday. Only thing, can some owner confirm how the video shooting performs? I have a handicam, but still, if we have that function in cell, why not use it?

Fully agree. Just, go lite on new members/post-ers. Hope no one takes hard feelings.

Mostly, Rs.22 for Handset change card(HCC). 99% sure about this. Of course. Once it is deactivated, it's as good as unprovisioned handset, on which any GSK or HCC can be used to activate it with new or existing number.

Well, I think one thread is enough to keep all discussions related to 6255 in one place. It's Mod's choice now.
-
Hey wow. Can you tell us how the R-World support is? How's the quality of MP3, because that's the reason I am interested in this model. How about posting a review?
-
Can someone find the phone's price in Mumbai?
-
One more good thing about the camera: Though the Nokia website says max memory is 64MB, people are even using cards upto 2 GB! Look at this page. http://www.topram.com/6255i/ If the price is really 10,399, then it's the best thing to buy now. But lets see how Reliance has 'customized' it.
-
Wow, this is the best news from Reliance from a long long time.... Can't wait to see the model in action. It'll be very bad if the camera doesn't support R-World.
-
Hey ashoksoft, I'll surely try those 2 locations. Where exactly in Masjid, u say? Do you have any idea if Hira panna is open on sundays? And is it reliable, i.e. do the guys give warranty and stuff? There's some Camera Galli in CST I think. Can someone throw light on it? The shop was at Churney Road. Anything more will almost disclose the name.

This is an age old techniques that has stopped working a long time ago, if was working at all! No, u can't make any fee calls by removing the battery. Don't believe anyone who says so, unless u see it by ur own eyes... Search in the forums, I guess the matter is already discussed somewhere. And welcome to Rimweb.
-
Hey wow, atleast after so many days, Reliance wakes up. But is the plan fully operating? Is th 440 voucher able to make free outgoing between Mumbai-Maharashtra? Can someone confirm?
-
hey guys, can u suggest an entry level camera, for a *very tight* budget of Rs.5000 to 7000? i know it's too tight, but I can afford that much only for a digicam. I am no fan of Nikon or any reputed company, even Mercury, Muskek etc will do, as long as the cam has an optical zoom, is capable of printing 4"X6" prints i.e. it will have greater than 2MP, has a decent battery life, and is within my budget. I know it's asking too much, but u can always correct me. I plan it to by in a month, so pls, if any seller is giving good rates, he may also reply/pm me.

is this an official info? I doubt whether Reliance will turn so Dayalu? As the above question, what's the source? No info on Relianceinfo.com yet.

I have bought a LG Slim for 2000. Overall a good piece. But whenever I make or recieve a call, the other party hears a lot of screeching sound when I speak. I am getting calls alright, but the opposite has to listen a lot of distrubance of screetching sound. When I showed the piece in the LG Srevice center in Pune, He said it was some network problem and not the handset problem. The voice improving and privacy settings in the mobile are set to standard and off respectively. Can someone pls help me? I am coming to Mumbai next week. Where should I show the handset? where is some good LG service station?
-
Sorry for such late reply. I went to the Lower Parel Service centre. First the guy there changed the mike, but again I was facing the same problem. He started saying like "it depends on you..." and some silly stuff like that, but then I demanded a hands free, and again found the same fault. Guess he realized he was not dealing was some uninformed client, and told me there was a problem in the mainboard. He kept my handset for one day, and I got the handset next day with changed mainboard, free from the sound problem. Thanks for all of your support, esp Chirag for giving the address of LG service center, and Munnamobile for giving me the cool tip of using the handsfree. Thanks guys.

Well, calling to Pune Reliance cell from my Mumbai home is working fine... I guess it's just a matter of time when all the operators abide to the rule. But damn they should CANCELL the roaming charges in the two (now one) circles, and shouldn't just stop making the calls local.
-
I just enquired with *333, they said the number will be changed alongwith SDCA, n I'll get some random number. Can anyone here help me keeping my old number or getting either similar or different but easy-to-remember reliance cell number in Mumbai? But then what's the point that Mumbai n Maharashtra are 1 circle? How can different operators have different definitions of circle?
