Ice Cream Sandwich source code now being pushed to git servers. It's a great day to be an Android geek -- the Ice Cream Sandwich source code is now being pushed to Google's git servers! This is the full release of Android 4.0.1, which is the version that will ship on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Most readers won't need to do anything here except wait for their favorite developer to get things rolling (hi, Beezy!), but those who are technically inclined and feel like cooking up a bit of their own ICS can find new build instructions here at Android's source project pages. Two things worth noting here -- the code is huge, and it's going to take a couple hours to transfer over. If you try to sync now, you'll get something that is never going to build. As Jean-Baptiste Queru points out, it's best to wait for word from Google that it's finished pushing out. Also, as-is the code will only build for the Galaxy Nexus, and it's going to take some tinkering to get it to build for other phones. Builds for other products will be coming from Google shortly. I do remember your issue with Ad-Hoc WiFi I had followed it till the end. It had great deal of info about how to make it work. And Kanaga bhai you are right the simple way to root the phone without pc is SU download from AM + few commands in terminal window. Also there is one click root method which I have not used. For the people who don't know about this process here it goes. First Step: Download Superuser from market Download Terminal Emulator from market Download Dolphin HD browser Navigate to the above linked thread in the Dolphin broswer and Download photon-torpedo.tar Once all these are installed reboot your device. Second Step: From the terminal emulator enter commands pressing enter after each. cd /tmp/ cp /sdcard/download/photon-torpedo.tar . (note the "space" and "period" at the end) chmod 777 photon-torpedo.tar /bin/tar xf photon-torpedo.tar ./photon-torpedo.sh (you will receive errors at this point, IGNORE) ./install-su.sh Reboot your device Third Step: Run terminal emulator Enter the command su At this point it will ask for superuser rights and you are rooted. This is the easiest way to root without the pc and the best part is that once you update the firmware or do something which would make you lose your root you just need to type the commands in the second step and we are all set again. I have did it like 10 times and works like a charm. However, this is something that I have found at XDA and all the credit goes to the original poster. Buddy I too agree with you I had it on my phone but for me it was extra loud and 3d overdose. Moreover, $14 for a launcher is way to much for a launcher. Not that I was using the paid one though It depends on your requirements both of these phones are good and have thier own cons. I know the cons of motorola photon but I am not much aware of EVO 3D. But we have some die hard fans of EVO 3D gurus like dhiraj and summet verma are a few examples. Still I would go for moto photon as it is a world phone and for me it has much better feel and look as compared to 3vo. Also I am not a great fan of batteries from htc phones. Now about the sample videos you needed. Dude just goggle it you will find hell lot of sample videos over the Internet. But I guess the video quality of 3vo will be better than photon even though it is just 5 mp camera as mp is not the only deciding factor here. Buddy I was just comparing the stock drawer with a few others. Btw i to use Go launcher right from my incredible days. IMHO it is the best out there and i really like the transition effects. On top of I have the complete set of go apps like go dialer, go sms, go contacts. So for me my android is GOdroid

+1 to Kanaga bhai for the work around option in ACCESSIBILITY settings [Power button ends the call]... Now that is what I call team work fellas. Finally i see the Motorola photon users kicking in. I would love to see Karthik posting his 2 cents. And that My naughty baby sits silently and loves to watch video-songs on photon with kick-stand open.. made me LMAO!

Mukesh buddy I am sorry if i misguided you I was one of the fellas who had asked you to install go sms pro for sms delivery reports. After your post I checked sending a sms from my gsm number and you are right it did not give me a delivery report. However I saw a service pop up saying network message when i sent the sms. But still it works fine if i use the cdma and i do get the delivery report.

Awesum find mate +1. I have my fingers crossed if there is even 1% chance of photon working of Reliance/Tata/MTS sim I am sure our Ethan Hunt (MI franchise) aka Hetal bhai will crack it. After incrdible2 if photon will get this feature I am sure it will be a early Christmas for every one.

Me too got one. Maybe will order 3 more + 1Rajan bhai. No words can describe your awesomeness you are the Google of deals. Or rather wiki leaks as you also saved others time for hunting the coupon for homeshop18 which i did any how and still i too came up with the same coupon.

Do you see any reboot issues on your phone after this update?

Mine works with + code dialing (for example +9198100xxxxxx). All my contacts are saved with +91 prefix and it dials them without a problem. I am on Android 2.3.4. Thanks now it works on my handset too. In past i edited its PROP file where i disabled. After reading ypur post i tried to figure out problem and found it out. Thanks. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk I had an issue were my phone was not dialing +91 numbers so I used the number fixer app from market to remove the +91 from all the numbers from my contact and now it works like charm.

Kapil bhai well put. A good start is a like half the battle won . however this does not do the trick with Motorola photon. For guys who do not knew this way out I tried this method but the only difference was I did not create a contact rather dialed it directly from dialer screen. On Motorola stock dialer you get the message ''Call not sent". FYI you cannot replace the stock dialer with dialer apps like go dialer as just the skin changes but the core dialer remains the same.

Whoooaaa this phone seems to me as a trouble magnet the list of issues are endless. Even I had the same issue with USSD code for my secondary prepaid gsm sim. But I do not care much as 99.99% of time I am on my cdma billing number. However, if anyone can help me with conference calling over this phone I would really appreciate that. I need conference calling very badly for my office and personal use.This phone is a killer and I love it but most of its issues are killing me now.

Even I have the same issue, good to see that at least I am not crazy! . I will try your method and revert back however youtube seems to be working fine with wifi. What firmware build are you on? P.S I tried all the methods like uninstalling youtube update and installing it back again. Restarting the phone. The list goes on.... But still it was of no use so quit using it over EVDO. Also while using EVDO the internet stops in the middle of your browsing session sporadically and you have to reconnect to access it. Do you face this issue too?

Mukesh you are right even I do not see to find the option under the stock sms app. Imho the best bet will be to install Go Sms Pro (free) from market. It has the option to check the delivery report under the option -> settings -> receive. But still it only provides you with the delivery status of the message and not the actual time when the sms was delivered. I guess it is a limitation of android.

Updated to 2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7-CM 10/24/11 latest SBF. So far so good will review it and keep posted. If any one is intrested to try it out you can visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202666 Fyi- Guys you will need the prl file for reliance and nv dump as we have to use the rsd full wipe method but the data on internal memory and sd card remains inact. But do take the backup of apps as well as contacts and sms also you will lose the root (no big deal).

Kartik is it an update after the 3 updates that were available earlier. Also while I was on 4.5.1A_1_SUN-198_6 the wifi was working on GSM. Btw any one with success on call conferencing or has any one tried any custom roms. Please update your experiences if any so that we may too try it. I know about an alien rom which is quite similar to the motoblur rom. So I did not flash it. Also I am ready to try any rom which may help with call conferencing.

Thanks Manuj.... for pointing me to the right direction. The instructions are quite long will go through them patiently and get my dinc rooted this weekend. But I as i knew earlier I will have to downgrade to 2.2 to get the S off and then get back to 2.3. Just let me know is getting s off really worth it,. I mean what will I be missing if i just have it rooted and S On ????

I want to root my incredible it is on the leaked 2.3 gingerbread. Can some one guide me the process for rooting as I guess unrevoked does not support this rom.
