@Kshah, even I was thinking of the same as per your points of shifting to a new operator. But then, something struck my mind. Now since MTS is started in Gujarat, we can buy one new connection and use it as a spare phone (im sure we guys have many idle phones lying somewhere) and check out the connectivity by calling fellow rimwebians (and disturbing them) or others or business LL calls, etc and checking its strength, etc. Basically what I am trying to say is that, y wait until MNP and shift current number to a new operator and then test for quality. Instead buy a new connection and utilise its potential. Try everything, and then only in one jhatka, transfer your number to the operator which you prefer. I am now testing the DCM network. Some of you friends might receive my calls just for testing, so be aware.. lolz.. Will be getting an MTS soon as I find time..

@Rajan, The video seems very promising.. But voice based services are very much for the people in the states or kingdoms.. people like us in India would not benefit much because of our voice clarity/etc..

I do not know if this is co-incidence, but a few weeks back when I had bought a new DCM connection (thanks to my crave to check out 3G speeds in their network in my city) and made a few voice calls, I was stunned to hear excellent voice on my iPhone 3GS. I let it go from my head thinking that it might be a good feature of the handset (iPhone) that I was using, but it never came to my mind that even DCM could have to do something with this. Now if according to the above report, DCM is the operator in India who have adopted HD voice in their network, then this must be true. I can easily say that when I spoke from the DCM connection, I was feeling an itch that the voice clarity was as good as my rcdma connection. I think my days of thinking, 'CDMA has excellent voice clarity than GSM' days are slowly deteriorating... way to go DCM...

I think, everyone (potential customers) is waiting until some other 'bakra' friend of his/her tries it first before trying it first hand..

^^^ Advanced Task killer will do your job. After reboot, just press the widget and whoosh, your apps are 'killed'... thus saving a lot of memory..

Yeh toh hona hi tha... I and a couple of rimwebians had forcasted previously, that in the future CDMA will be used mainly for DATA and GSM will be for voice...

^^^ Parinbhai, cheaper CDMA highend handsets compared to their GSM counterparts are also available... you should be knowing this better..

Its really a personal choice and depends mainly on the BTS near your 'regular' accessed areas. After reading this post, I understood the DCM is not a good operator, but I differ. In my house and my factory (which accounts for more than 95% of time spent in a month) we have the best service from DCM. Though we use idea, which has pathetic service in our home, we are waiting for MNP to come and change the network. I would suggest you to use many kinds of networks (GSM and CDMA included) and take a decision.
