hey, dth uses a personal dish receiver (dish antenna) to receive the signals... whereas reliance will be giving the cables directly to home ... no dish receiver in case of reliance...so i dont think its comparable !!! or is it ???

Hi Friends, Yes these gratis network guys are giving away ipods. Here's all that u will need. 1. a valid email address. where they send activation link. and possibly spam us. so i gave my email address which i use for spams only. 2. a relative in US who can recieve the ipod for us. (which they can courier us here in india afterwards). 3. u need to refer the same thing to 5 of ur friends. and there we get our ipod. Friends, this system is no hoax, and the friend who referred to me already got his ipod last week. Let all of us (the rimweb forum group) have ipods. we all can refer each other. Remember : for the people who will be using aol offer once u r credited ... call on 001 (800) 827- 6364 and ask them to cancell the trial membership. so that u will never be charged after the 50 days trial period gets over. this step is very important or your credit card will be charged. for people who select infone...they need not worry as they charge only after 5 free uses. so no question to cancell as we are not even going to use 1 of the 5 free uses. 6. Once the offer is credited alls done...all needs to be done is to get 5 referrels and get them to do the same thing. the site shows complete status of where we have reached like what is the credit status of the offers, or what is referral status, or what is delivery status...etc etc. 7. ashok, sorry u should have some delivery address of US only...try for some distant relative or even distant friend...someone u distantly know...there is no problem as the relative or friend will not have to pay anything...except that he will be sending ur ipod by courier... i just moved further by one important step in getting my ipod...on the status page of freeipods it shows that my aol offer has been credited... so now all i have to do is get 5 referrals do the same... i ll keep posting future status... luv jigar

Yes Ashok, This is really working ... even i did not believe it when i was referred by one of my friend. but when he got it in one month after finishing all the procedure which i wrote in earlier post...i was just alarmed... and when i searched the internet for relevant info i got links to thousands of forums where people are discussing for the ipods and also i found thousands of people telling that they got their ipod. I suggested samsung service centre people with the following improvements in the software of handset. You guys can also persuade ur city samsung asc for the same. 1. the method of delivery ack needs improvement. 2. the scroll display while we surf news is faulty as it scrolls for few seconds and then starts all over again. 3. the backlit keeps blinking while we select various options of r world. the backlit sometimes goes off within 1 second (though i set it to 7 seconds). 4. while typing the sms the cursor takes more time to proceed further. for eg. if we want to type 'hi' in (AB) mode then after typing 'h' we have to wait for 'ages' for the cursor to proceed further so that we can type 'i'. this time should also be reduced. At least for ppl like us who are quite fast in typing smses. Jigar

mr hovs...this is really height !!! u r comparing the tiny bandwidth of bsnl with the optical fibre connected reliance network with far more bandwidth. all the best to u if u r going to use the pathetic bsnl to connect to ur isp. when u finish ur one month do let us know ur bill of bsnl and ur isp bill too. i m sure u ll not be able to carry ur cable internet connection wherever u roam thruout the country. do think about such things before criticising... jigar trivedi

thats illogical ... chirag... now that u r saying tata's in yahoo messenger...i m sure reliance will soon be in it. this is i guess the first thing where tata is before reliance otherwise everytime tata used to lag behind...be it sms services, or roaming services or whatever... good news is that when i called customer care they told that already some people are given this facility for testing purposes. so soon it may be officially launched. jigar

friends...i will not suggest using the above code for battery backup. well, at first i was impressed because the battery life 'seemed' to be increased. but what actually happened was that only the indicator got deactivated. i mean till the battery does not run out the indicator shows full battery. this is fact becomes misguiding. hey SUMIT... now that u have given the code for battery backup...now i want the code to revert back to my past status. i did go to samsung asc but i had to leave my cell to the asc for 1 whole day. so waiting for ur reply SUMIT... i bought under the same historical dapo scheme...and i paid 2000/- extra apart from the pdcs and downpayment. yes the 2000/- deposit (taken for activating national std) was adjusted in my bills...thus i didnt have to pay anything for a couple of months...fair enuf !!! Jigar
