I want to load linux in my system,It will be ubuntu I am using ZTE MG880 USB modem,Will this work on ubuntu??? The sticky posts above are mentioned for other USB modems So what about MG880???? How to Install It???

one of my friend who is EVDO user said that It is working even if u take it Out of the city range But only National Roaming is not possible So if u go out of the state Evdo will not work I hope they launch National Roaming SOON But first they need to Launch it in all states and all cities Even after 1year they have covered only 10-15 places Does anyone here know how they are choosing cities to enable these wireless connections??? Hey sandeep, I have completed 2 months of free surfing in the month of June and the speeds have dropped by a margin I can experience a disconnection every half an hour But I feel this is happening only at my end The speeds are far more better than Tata Indicom Plug2Surf But i feel BSNL EVDO is better as compared to Reliance Not sure if reliance are going to launch the same type of connection Since it has been over a year from the launch of EVDO,there is no signals from Reliance that they are going to launch EVDO So if u want a Good Connection Switch to EVDO If EVDO is not available in ur area then u need to stick to Reliance

My speed test results show the Upload speeds crossing 144 kbps The download speed is 80Kbps while the upload is 174 kbps

I Know it is wrong, But anyway that was strange calculation by Speed Test

Few plans have been removed 36 hours plans and 50 hours plans removed But no Tariff reduction Hope they bring the Unlimited tariff down to 500-700 rupees

That is for buissness users What about Personal users They seem to be neglected Hope the price is around Rs500 but by the looks of things They have priced at 7000 so i guess they may charge upto Rs 1000 which is very high compared to BSNL's EVDO

@Amit Jain If u are telling to install new drivers from the website Then can u explain how to install the,??? I downloaded ZTE MG 880 driver and after restarting when i plugged in and started the software it says no USB detected So can u help me in solving the problem

Thanks, I just checked at my nearest Reliance Communications Store and they say You should have been a coustomer of Reliance Net connect for 6 months and only after that u can change to prepaid When i said My first bill of Postpaid did not arrive and i have been a free user he said The Two months free usage is only for postpaid customers I thought the offer was applicble to everyone next i asked him where the Prepaid vouchers and he said it is available only at Reliance webworld he also said that they will charge 500 rupees for changing from Postpaid to prepaid Strange rules for R net connect

I just saw in UTVi that 3G auction is going to be held on June 30 So in case Reliance is going to introduce EVDO in future Will u guys give any offer like Free Upgradation to EVDO connection for present DATA CARD subscibers???

Even If EVDO comes what will happen to Data card?? I am sure they are not going to give an offer an free EvDo connection for existing Data customers So i guess Datcards future is not Bright enough in the cities Also Reliance should reduce the tariff DataCard I saw an article which stated Unlimited connection for Datacard at Rs700 for Punjab customers They are yet to introduce this to Rest Of India Even if They do Bsnl offer is bit cheaper 250 Per Month

hello, Today i got my net connection activated,It is an Usb modem The person who came to my house did not know much about the net connect but somehow he did the Installation,Previously i had a Tata Indicom Broadband connection but i disconnected it necause it was Too Expensive so i moved to the data card but the initial reaction of this data card is not Good I have some questions,I hope someone here answers my queries ------can any one tell me what speed i should get for download The person and sales Exectutives told i will get a speed upto 144 kbps even for download but i am getting only a 6kbps speed ------what is the use of Net Booster will i get any increase in speed? how to get it connected? It is always showing "Cannot detect Net Booster server,Net Booster is stopped' -----what about the speed will these wireless data cards have a fixed speed of 144kbps?? Can the company improve thse speeds further? Those are my questions I hope some one here solves my queries

You mentioned 6 kbps in your first post, and you say 6 kBps now. Since you are getting 6 - 7 kBps only, that is normal depending upon the present network conditions. Only when there is very less network congestion in your area and if you get better signals, you may get 10 - 15 kBps. That was a mistake i am getting 6-7kBps I believe this data card facility should be used as backup That reliance guys did not show demo of this,if they did then i would never have brought this Thanks for the helping me!!
