Waseem, how you find email functionality? have you experienced blackberry server to be down? And default browser works well with javascript sites - sites like famecinemas.com ? I guess you will need few days to test it out
-
I believe its depends on ones requirement. I have web hosting business and for me checking server staus and email is of absolute necessity. No water supply for few days is ok for me but I need to check my email every few minutes. For me PPC 6700 (Which I currently have) and devices like blackberry are very much helpful. Thanks

Sadik, You got a BB demo ? How it is ?

Actually sammer has mentioned about data plans for PPC 6700, I too called *333 and got replied that no such plan exists. I have Sierra data card and ofcourse on that 650-1GB do exists. 1. Did you used office exchnage server for push email? I plan to use mailstreet.com email solution for push email... once I have data plan on PPC 6700 2. ohh so its just not me.. I have made Doom 2 as my ringtone - when I test it, its audio is perfect but when a real call come in.. for 3-5 seconds it just break thw ausio and then music is somehwhat OK but hell its annoying.. so I removed it and kept the default ring. 3. hmm I didnt experience this delay but yes sometimes after pressing call button (receiving call) it takes a second to actually start a call.. so like I have to say hello hello twice so that other person can hear my voice... 4. For Skype you use wifi or reliance rconnect? coz via rconnect voice in skype was breaking but via wifi it was good. I have several remote servers... I always carry my laptop with me even when off to a movie on weekend... This PPC solves my purpose.. SSH/Emails/Browsing.. on move. (no more laptop on a short journey) A great PockePC - I have been looking for such since last several months and was on verge to migrate to Airtel Blackberry but then saw this at reliance website and migration plan was put off

Guys, thanks for all info.. my coming weekend would be busy Amit, I have ordered bluetooth Jabra 250v headset and should be getting in a day or two, If headset have voice activattion feature then yes I guess shouldn't be a problem...will try it out then! For wifi, is there any security set for connecting? At my office I have dlink 524 router and for connection no passphrase or security enabled so when i click on wifi icon via Commmanager it automatically get connected... then via Start->Settings->Connections->Advanced ->Select Network I change to My Work Network .. and hurray! I am connected to broadband... emails.. browsing all via broadband....

Yesterday I tried Voice2Go and it worked beautifully. Applications, contacts, notes all can be activated by voice. Even lenghty processes can be recorded via macro. Like I use Mocha SSH in my PPC to connect remote server.. So a assigned command like "Connect <servername>" will open SSH client and connect to that server.... Guys any other interesting software you would recommend for WM5!

Yes need to disconnect activesync first, I was able to connect via USB to my desktop.. (I need to try 2-3 times as activesync was starting up automatically) Browsing Speed is decent at 6-8 kbps while download speed was about 15 kbps (constant speed of 15 kbps in my testing with 11 mb file) My Reliance Sierra data card also gives same speed. I guess I now need to get rid of sierra data card

Hmm Amit I too didnt tried it. My IBM X40 donot have bluetooth though, Will try with IRDA! Also Amit while checking emails, browsing do you get prompt of "Phone" and then we need to click on 'Dismiss' - its annoying, any idea how to disable such prompt ?
-
Worked like a charm! I now have 243MB additional space. Thanks one again Sameer.
-
Wow what a great community we have! Sameer, yes thta did the trick and yes browsing is bit fast with such connection instead of Reliance MobileWorld. Also I received free 256MB SD card but not sure how to use/insert it! I did checked manuals but there was nothing mentioned about it. Any idea Sameer?

amitoberoi, I bought is from Bombay for INR 31500 and thanks for the URL. mmjain, You are a hero - worked like a charm! I can finally have my emails so making new connection was same like old way we use to do via usb cable via mobile phone. mmjain one more thing - new connection using our mobile number is charged at 50 piase per minute if we donot have data plan but how abour default Reliance Mobile Connection - its free ? (the one we use to browser net on PDA)
-
Okie, got the point. Reliance MobileWorld is the default connection for testing www. I connected PPC 6700 via my office wifi and was able to check emails. I guess I need to connect using my mobile number and then can have full net on mobile however am not sure how to do it maybe via New connection? Guys if you provide a bit of helping hand then it would be great!

Got my handset today and all is good except emails. Any users of PPC 6700 can give me some guildlines! Browsing is fine. For email it always give error "Can't connect Incoming Mail Server' in outlook - Tried with 3 different pop email and all same. Do we need to have some data plan for this? Also PPC 6700 automatically create Reliance MobileWorld connection and in Advanced Settings I see its using proxy setting like wapgw.ricinfo.com Guys you too have similar settings?
