use blackberry desktop manager for that.. connect blackberry after running BDM, then check ports in device managed and use the RIM Virual Serial Port (higher one) to connect it to QPST.. -

^ first you need to check, whether the hard disk is being recognised by the computer/laptop.. check that and also observe that the low volume sound is of any "beep" or "click".. the chances of hardware failure is very much there..

^ when you install pc studio, the drivers for the modem are already installed.. check that in the device manager.. and you can manually configure Dial Up Networking connection using that modem.. hope it helps..
