Ok. and what about the net browsing on the phone? That is the only criteria I would have if I have to buy this phone.

Can anyone confirm if this can browse internet?

I am able to surf net on the phone. But when I connect my laptop to net through USB, I get a tray icon showing connected at 10.0 mbps. But when I try to open a page it does not open. The miniature icon in the tray shows my laptop making a request but the remote computer not responding. If I open connection status, it shows some bytes sent but nothing received. Please help on this.

I got it. It is really very simple in WM 6. I put the process below for benefit of other users: Open the active sync application on PC and go to connection settings. Untick allow USB connection.close active sync. connect the smart phone to PC through USB. On smart phone go to start\internet sharing. Select USB under PC connection tab. Select the name of your service provider under Network connection tab. Click connect. The smart phone will show connected status and PC will show the network icon in tray. open a blank web page and go to tools Goto internet options select connections tab There select never dial a connection open Lan connections tab tick automatically detect settings untick proxy settings click ok start surfing

Just bought HTC S720. I had I MATE Kjam (GSM) earlier. It had a way to hard reset the phone. But in this phone I did not find any keys for hard reset. By a hard reset I mean all the data deleted, all customisation restored to factory, all PIMs lost, all installed programmes removed. there is only one option of 'clear storage' but I think it will be a soft reset only. Can someone please tell me a way of how to hard reset this device? Also that after a hard reset will the Reliance system files need to be installed again or will install automatically on boot?

Got this from HTC site. I put it for benefit of other users: There are two methods to performing a hard reset. Select Start > Accessories > Clear Storage. Enter 1234 where prompted and select YES. Power the device off. Press and hold the left and right soft keys. Power the device on while holding these keys. Follow the on-screen prompts to factory reset the device. For backup the entire phone I am using sprite backup

Thanks for immediate reply. But before I do that, i need to first install a back up program so that if there is any problem with the hard reset I can redo my set to the existing condition. Can you kindly suggest some dependable back up software for this phone (OS windows standard 6.0)
