WELL in windows i get around average 10KB download speed mostly and in evenings it drops to 6KB etc

Well what i mean to say is, original and duplicate does not make much difference here since both works with the same hardware and technology..........but defenitly the former has better quality of build etc. SO if you are so unlucky, the aftermarket cable can be faulty.

in My FC3 which came with pcquest , i can see the usb serial converter listed in the usbview menu, but i cant connect using /dev/ttyUSB0.can someone help me by giving the right step by step guidelines to test the usb cable using minicom or any other serial port utility?

hey dont be happy seeing "0 MB". Remember its "UNBILLED" usage.That wont increase unless one crosses the limit,ie 1GB for freedom and 1.5GB for freedom plus as far as i guess. Can someone make sure of this????
