  1. I am using Mpower Muzik 219 from last 4 months, its working fine. Sound quality is great. Phone does not have any issues/problems. Its supports external memory card upto 2GB only and you can't play music in background and it has VGA camera only. 2nd, your UIM (means CDMA SIM) will work with any OMH. I am using TATA Indicomm on my Samsung.
  2. ABC Keypad Vs QWERTY

My friend had NOKIA E72, I tried typing an SMS on it. Whne you type your fingers move automatically without any intentional direction (e.g. your hand moves away if someone puts a burning paper on it even when you are thinking something deep and looking in opposite direction. Its just nervous system's reaction for which you don't need to focus). I was surprised to notice that when my fingers moved to type some letters, those letters were either opposite or somewhere else as compared to where my fingers were. In fact, I felt a lot of discomfort while typing an SMS (at the same time my friend felt itw as easier, because he practiced a lot): I was reading on net about computer keyboards when I came across this: http://www.abckeyboard.co.uk/ http://www.theworldofstuff.com/dvorak/ So QWERTY keypad puts a lot of stress on fingers/hands. I came across LAVA B5 ABCD keypad phone. I know that build quality will be poorer and for the person who wants to send lots of SMSs I think ABC keypad would be a good idea.
  3. ABC Keypad Vs QWERTY

Exactly my point, there is no need to put QWERTY on mobile keypad as its very different from keyboard. I tried 3 more times to use my friends QWERTY and I found my usual ABC/DEF/T9 keypad better. Anyway, LAVA claims that its world's first phone with ABCD keypad. I guess I will give it a try, flipkart says it costs around 2.8K
  4. I want to buy a QWERTY phone. Can someone suggest a single SIM handset with these features, price less than 7-8K. Please suggest both CDMA and GSM handsets (no dual-mode or dual-sim handsets): Music Phone with 3.5mm jack. Music can be played in background so that I can check SMSs while listening songs 1.3 MP camera. Call and Voice recording (optional) Bluetooth Good Battery Backup (more than 1100 mAh ??) Lots of SMSs, so comfortable keypad no 3G I prefer branded phones.
  5. Please suggest a QWERTY Music Phone

Phoen looks absolutely amazing. I have Tata Indicomm, is it OMH ?
  6. Please suggest a QWERTY Music Phone

Samsung chat 335 and 332 seem good. Nokia C3 does not have outside volume key. Did I forget to mention that I need to type lots of SMSs (not just forward, but type). OP updated.
  7. Its 2.2K, bought it 2 months back. very good phone, good battery backup, fine sound quality. This 2.2K handset has Bluetooth functionality . Only trouble is: You can't play music in background and camera is VGA. Technically, I did not have any troubles since the day I bought it and yesm I have used it like anything. If you are willing to shell 5K then check Mpower Muzik SCH-S379. Ultra clear sound system it has, impressive looks and as usual, no technical troubles.
  8. I want to buy a GSM phone with these features: (1) Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) (2) 2 MP camera (1.3 will also go) (3) Bluetooth (4) Price 5K at maximum (+/- 500) (5) A simple Bar type phone. No touchscreen, no QWERTY. and just today I searched the Secunderabad shops and got loads of Micromax, Cellkon and lots of Karbonns, even VIDEOCON looked same way. Wanted to look for ONIDA F860 but couldn't find it anywhere. Did not find Maxx mobiles there. Some guy showed me LG GX300, which was with an impressive 1550 mAh battery and was pretty good at 5K except its larger size. Found Samsung C5212 also with 1.3 MP camera, Big C quoted it at 5100/-. I got confused in all this. I just want to buy a good phone, does not matter whether its Maxx or Samsung. Any good phone you guys will recommend ?
  9. I am using this Samsung Metro Power C3200 Monte Bar phone from few weeks: http://www.gsmarena.com/postopinion.php3?idPhone=3149 2 days back suddenly out of nowhere al of my messages were deleted from Inbox automatically . I have a 2GB microSD card but mesages are saved in phone memory itself (default). I had 161 messages and on a fine evening (2 days back) I clicked on Inbox for reading messages and it said Loading.... but nothing happened, no matter how many times you click on Inbox it alway says Loading ... which disappears after 3 seconds but Inbox can never be opened. Then I tried creating a new message and it said initialising SMS Service..., that message again disappeared after 3 seconds and nothing. I can not open Inbox, Outbox, Sentbox anything at all. Just these 2 messages keep on popping up. I tried resetting the phone but the manual has no information about the password for resetting. So a little google searched helped and phone is working for now but everything is gone using Hard Reset
  10. Motorola EX128 Review

I have used Motorola EX128 for around 20 days now. Bought it for 6000/- from Secunderabad Chinese market (Hyderabad). Quite unfortunately my brother liked it very much and took it away form me and handed me his brand new Samsung Metro Power C3200 Monte Bar phone. Here is what I have now after 20 days experience: User-Interface: Interface competes with what you see these days in Samsung and NOKIA phones. No doubts about it. It is touch-screen based handset and interface is crystal clear. Phone's shape is nice, fits exactly into hands, neither small nor large size fitting, very comfortable in holding it for long time calls. The back side is made of some material which resists slipping from any surface. Handset is very solid and sturdy, It fell for 3 times by now and nothing happened to it. Dual-SIM: You can switch from one SIM to another or keep both in use all the time. You do not need to turn it off for that. Did not get the opprtunity to try what happens when I am talking on one SIM and someone else cals on 2nd. Audio Quality: Speaker has quite a volume and sound was quite clear whenever I talked, no exceptions. Only problem is when you connect headset. It has 3.5mm jack which may make you feel like its good, well its not. Clarity of sound goes down the drain as soon as you put on the headset. Even the mp3 songs play with worst quality I have ever experienced. Its extremely terrible. Never ever put headset for talking to someone on this phone. Don't have a bluetooth headset so no idea if its same in Bluetooth headset (I expect worse). Battery: Battery is OK kind. Neither gives bad backup nor much good one. If you use both SIMs and talk for around 40-60 min within next 12-15 hours of charging it will drain out to zero. Two SIMs will kill the battery, there is no point in using two SIMs here in this phone or carry ur charger like you carry your hanky all the time Camera: Camera is 3 MP, check out the attached pic for quality.
  11. Please Suggest A Gsm Handset

  12. Please Suggest A Gsm Handset

Thanks Rajan, I just bought EX128 for 6K from Secunderabad market (with bill of course). Its really looks like exactly what is shown on the motorola web site. Will post a review after a month of usage. Thanks to all the guys who helped
  13. Please Suggest A Gsm Handset

Thanks for all the help guys. I will not go for any cheap crap, only branded handsets. After searching archives, I finally decided that I will simply buy a single SIM GSM handset. Can I get some choices with Bluetooth and 2 MP camera in bar type? Holy Cow, so much mind-change by just reading the archived posts
  14. Please Suggest A Gsm Handset

OK guys, After so much searching the archives for 2 days and reading your replies I think branded mobile is the way to go. I liked Motorola EX128 but I don't have any experience with touchscreen mobiles. Everyone agrees on buying branded handset but no one talked about LG GX300 I mentioned in my OP.
  15. Low end CDMA handset experiences

I was using this set from last 1.5 years and I paid 1700/- rupees for that. It was working fine but from last 1 month, its behaving badly, its battery switches-off automatically sometimes. Sometimes when a call comes it switches off, sometimes it switches off silently when it is kept somewhere e.g my office desk. New battery costs 200-300/- but I have a policy of never ever to repair mobiles, just throw them and buy a new one because once a mobile is repaired, it goes into repairing mode forever. Except of this problem this is a fine handset. The only other problem is a single SMS is limited to 160 characters when the standard is 300, hence a normal SMS comes in 2 parts . I used this phone a lot, I talked non-stop on it for hours and I never had a problem at all. Hence I think I extracted 1700/- rupees in 1.5 years and I have no regrets that its gone now. I sold it for 300/- to some guy, yes I told him the issue, and bought a Samsung Hero (Super Hero ?) worth 1400/- just yesterday. CDMAs have 2 worst points: Customer Care (CC) service of the connection providers is sh*t. Reliance, BSNL and TAT Indicomm's CC guys are sh*t. Handsets are very expansive. A good quality CDMA handset will cost you around 5-6K. I am not talking about colors, Bluetooth or FM. NO, they are features, I am talking about hardware quality, which is worse. Look at NOKIA 1203 I bought yesterday, prettu solid handset at just 1250/-
  16. I recently bought NOKIA 1203 and an AirTel connection. Before that I was using Samsung Hero CDMA handset with TATA Indicomm. I usually talk for 1 hour on phone. The problem with the CDMA was that heats up at and around the the part where incoming voice comes (the part you keep on ear). With GSM there is no heat up but I have observed an intense pain in the External Auditory Canal, see picture: When I first used it I thought it was some mental phenomenon because I have read that GSM is bad for health. Next day I talked for 1.5 hours again on the other ear and again I got pain, it is not mental but real physical pain, it never happens when I use my Samsung CDMA for hours. Is it because of GSM handset or that that I bought a cheap handset (NOKIA 1203) ?
  17. Low end CDMA handset experiences

Tell of some (not one but some) good quality CDMAs available for less than 5K. Now search for good quality in GSMs less than 5K range, you will find lots. If a 1700/- CDMA goes for 1.5 years, it enough. I also had one from ZTE earlier, cost me 1000/- and went out after 8 months, my friend had one from Hair which went out after 1 year. Indian CDMAs are sh*t, thats why I bought a NOKIA 1203 GSM, may be switch to it.
  18. Samsung Raaga

I went to 3 different TATA True Value Shops here in Hyderabad and was not even able to find Samsung ChampFM there. All I got was loads of Samsung RAAGA handsets worth 1700/-. Anyone used it ? Even Google does not give much information about it.
  19. Samsung Raaga

Now its been more than 6 months since I have been using this handset . So I will comment on the review I have given earlier. I think it will help people and save their hard earned money This problem really frustrates me sometimes but I noticed it does not come from the handset itself but rather the TATA Indicom network. Sometimes the towers go on and off frequently here in Hyderabad . The signal never remains stable in any set. So I apologize for this unintentional mistake. yes, I am completely satisfied by the battery of Samsung Raaga. 3 hours for one charge are good I think for normal usage. well, the cancel button and 4 keys still annoy me. I standby that statement. its based on expereince. if you write too much of SMSs then don't buy this mobile and don't buy any cheap priced handset either. Eh... profiles are not there but I have adjusted my life mobilestyle with that. Contrary to my thinking It was not difficult and complex to change my thinking about a handset. Forget about this problem, you will learn to change. Oh.. no.. headset is really a pain in the ear. Overall, at a price of 1700/- I think its a good deal. Two feature I loved about this mobile are battery and fast response-times. Two features I reall hate are earphone and cancel and direction keys But what can you get in 1700/-. Take my advice for free, save money and buy liitle expansive handset of 5000-6000/- , you will never regret the decision. Just remember to search the arcives at rimweb before you buy any handset
  20. Coolpad Cdmas In India

Hey guys, I searched all the google but did not find where to buy the Yulong Coolpad CDMA. Heck , I did not even find the price in rupees for any Yulong CDMA . Do you know a place in Hyderabad where I can see some models and buy one. ?
  21. Nokia Cdma Recommendations

I want to purchase a NOKIA CDMA handset, as I am tired of these cheap quality 1000/- or 1700/- handsets ( ZTE C335, Samsung Raaga e.g.) . I want to go to NOKIA show room and by the one. Before I go, I want to hear some recommendations. I need these features: 1) Colored 2) Polyphonic Tones 3) Hand-Free 4) budget 6K 5) Good battery backup 6) Bluetooth (great but optional) I do not want heavy features like camera, extra memory, mp3 player etc. I want a simple and basic phone. All I heard of is NOKIA 1325 but its keypad not good. Any other recommendations ?
  22. Nokia Cdma Recommendations

Both don't fit my description , neither of them are colored and have hand-free. See at the TATA Indicom web-site itself
  23. Coolpad Cdmas In India

I found 2 CDMA handsets from them, both look good. I need to find a friend in China now
  24. Nokia Cdma Recommendations

You are right in saying problems are related to Service Providers. From what I have experienced. GSM companies make much better handsets at cheap prices and service providers are also better. CDMA has cheap handsets, expansive rates if something is good and worst possible service. They have so much customer base because of Tariffs I think. I have TATA Indicom only because I can make free STD call to any TATA all over India for 496/- of recharge. I had LG RD3600, which was as good as Samsung Raaga but both of them have pathetic UI. Never bought Huwaei.. so can't say. I think you are right here. Thanks for teaching me this secret Thanks for the kind words. from Your secret, I think I have finally made the decision. . I will keep on using these simple 1000 or 2000 rupees phones. I don't give a F**K about bluetooth anymore. I will spend those extra 4000/- on some thing better, like buying some insurance for my family.
