Well, except for Oscars for ARR & Gulzar, i don't see any reason for this hype. The film shows every Indian in poor light. i personally hate the depiction of Indians as cruel & Americans as generous in the scene where tyres of car are stolen, driver of the car beats the boy black & blue. When the boy says-"This is real India", Americans give him 100 $ note & says "This is real America" Indeed a very distasteful remark, deliberately planted to demean Indians. . so , no cheers from me for this film. though 4 cheers for ARR & Gulzar Saheb.

Any suggestions where do I get such ROM from?? By cracking this hardware for all networks, would that solve this? try downloading device software(reliance) from BB site, go to download section, choose operator(reliance) & then d/l the s/w. this should do the trick. (make sure u subscribe ti BIS. else it won't work.

Have u subscribed to BIS/BES?, if yes, load Google maps on to your mobile. works well. Will be solution to your gps issues. ( will work only if ur device supports GPs though. I've no idea of feature list of 8330. though it's working on my friend's 8830 we with BIS plan.

I already tried downloading this from the Blackberry website but after the download my BB Desktop software said you are on the latest version and there are no updates available. :-( I'm using Reliance connection.... does it have something to do with this? First uninstall ver 4.2 from your computer, reboot. Install 4.5, go to program files/common files/ research in motion/ apploader. Delete Vendor.xml(Shift+ Del). Reboot again. Then run desktop manager. you will be prompted for update. Remember: removal of vendor.xml is compulsory. Also, use desktop manager 4.7 for easy update. Be prepared for some bugs though such as low batt. life & slightly less clear dispaly(My experience so far) enjoy

Definitely works with reliance CDMA as well as GSm. Tried myself. The problem: battery life reduces significantly.

My experience with 4.5 is mixed. one major problem i faced is that battery drains very quickly. unable to figure out why. Though docs to go is nice feature & also, supprts 8 gb card, which is max 4 gb in ver 4.2. but have gone back to 4.2 due to battery problem. Any suggestions for batt life?

Can u tell the setting for GPRS & which operator's sim u used? as i am out of luck for at least idea & rgsm gprs settings. can't activate. RGSM.Tried rcomwap & rcomgprs in APN. reply to SMS "ALL" to 55100 says" your handset does not support these settings. Contact Customer care." & as usual, CC people are worthless idiots. Thanks in adv.

fully agree with sadik bhai. gr8 phone even if u dont use bis. trackball is highly addictive, use at ur own risk . Sadik Bhai, hope this can be used on my bb. D/L started already

So no probs of handset locking Does anybody have link for dev s'ware 4.5 Rel 131? pls post the link

I Purchased the set(8830 WE) from Sadik & happy to say that it's a right choice. Though BIS/BES on cdma doesn't work but still a very good handset. If u can do without camera, best handset in this price. Also, it has a facility of editing word & power point docs edit if u upgrade to os ver 4.5. USP of the phone to me is exceptional build quality , finish, impressive looks (To me at least) & above all, good battery life. One drawback with reliance handset is that if you want to change the network from CDMA to GSM or vice versa, you have to restart the phone, whereas in this one, it takes hardly a few seconds(Less than 10) to switch the network. Also, GPS through Google Maps works fine if you have net connection.

Dear Hetal Bhai, Any idea about how to get GPRS working on Blackberry 8830(Purch from Sadik Bhai, excellent handset) When i send message "All" to 55100, i get a message" your handset information not in database". any workaround?

yes, U can use both connections, one at a time. other will show " not reachable". as already told, net connect is presently not working. Also, blackberry service will be not activated on handsets not purchased from reliance. However, BB can be activated on GSM conn through airtel/ vodafone. However, Both Idea & Reliance gprs are not working on this. Trying to get a solution. Hope this forum will bail me out

I am unable to get GPRS setting in BB8830 i got from sadik bhai. I get a message telling "Receiver Dear Customer, your handset information is not in Database" I have lodged a complaint with customer care-*333. Is there any way out or have to bear with this. Pls help
