It is possible to do this. Just get your sim unlocked and change your mobile network to GSM/UMTS (2G). Just make sure when you do this, the SIM card should not be inserted. Turn off the radio, insert the sim card and do a cold reboot. Your GSM should be active now when you turn on the Radio. Few things you cannot do is change the splash screen (Reliance) to your new service provider. These things are hard coded. enjoy!

Ah!! Got this working finally. The Y! messenger in Blackberry for some reason does not accept any special characters in password!!! Dont know if this is a known bug with Y!. I changed the password and it works fine now

Is Reliance planning to upgrade the BES to 4.5 by any chance? How long would the wait be?

Well, like I mentioned in my first post, the same Yahoo! ID and password works like a charm on Desktop/Laptop. Thanks anyways, I tried everything possible from my side and have reported this to Yahoo customer care too. I hope they reply back! I have no choice but to wait Thanks

I have OS 4.2.1 on my 8703e handset. I downloaded Y! messenger 2.1.33 last night and tried singing in. It's not letting me sign-in. The username and password works fine when I try using a desktop/laptop. Any body has faced the same issue? Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks Samanth
