  2. Android-Number 1 Smartphone Platform Now

In U.S. Smartphone Market, Android is Top Operating System, Apple is Top Manufacturer Source July 28, 2011 According to June data from Nielsen, Google's Android operating system (OS) now claims the largest share of the U.S. consumer smartphone market with 39 percent. Apple's iOS is in second place with 28 percent, while RIM Blackberry is down to 20 percent. However, because Apple is the only company manufacturing smartphones with the iOS operating system, it is clearly the top smartphone manufacturer in the United States. Other leading manufacturers include HTC, whose Android phones represents 14 percent of the smartphone market and whose Windows Mobile/WP7 devices account for 6 percent of the market; and Motorola, whose Android devices are owned by 11 percent of smartphone consumers. Samsung's Android devices are used by 8 percent of smartphone owners while their Windows Mobile/WP7 phones are used by 2 percent of smartphone owners.

  9. Android Mobiles From India

Karbonn Launches its First Android Phone, To Introduce 3 More Source The phone, called A1, comes with a 2.8 inch touchscreen and is based on Android 2.2. The phone is very similar to Micromax Andro A60 but has a capacitive touch screen. Karbonn Mobile has launched its first Android phone in India. The phone is based on the Android 2.2 version, and has a 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen along with WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth. Company also plans to launch 3 more Android smartphone each targeted at a specific like business executive, student or housewife. The phone is very similar to Micromax A60 with only major difference being the better capacitive touchscreen that A1 boasts. The phone is priced at Rs 6,999, but should retail in the market closer to the Rs 6,000 figure. Other difference with Micromax A60 includes later generation Android (A60 is based on 2.1) and therefore supports WiFi Hotspot and ability to store application in external memory. Design wise both the phones are very similar. Other features of the A1 include Adobe Flash 10.1 version, 600MHz processor, 7.2 Mbps support (3G), a 3.2 MP camera, and 1100mAh battery, expandable memory (up to 32GB) and GPS. Being an Android phone, standard Android applications and features like Google Map and G-sensor are all available, and so is the ability to download applications from the Android Market. In a statement, the company said, "Karbonn plans to invest around 5 million US dollars on the marketing and promotional activities of these smartphones, they are expecting their smartphones sales to contribute about 10% to their total volume target. These smartphones will be tailor made to suit the diverse lifestyles of the consumers, so, there will be an Android phone for everyone, be it a business executive, style conscious youth, students or even a housewife".
  10. Review Of Palm Pixi

Congo.. seems you received it very quickly from Ebay Global Easy Buy.. And at an unbelievable price.. Now the real battle starts..
  11. It has Atom N435 processor which was launched sometime back by intel as a low cost proposition. It's single core, underclocked at 1.33 Ghz, has lower power TDP rating of 5 W instead of 6.5 W for N455. Basically it's a very stripped down version of N455 to reduce cost and offer cheaper netbooks. It also has only 3 Cell battery. In addition it comes with MeeGo OS and not windows. While windows may be installed but it can be a drag. Could be useful only if the usage is going to be very very light and no multi apps, HD. IMHO spending Rs 1,000/1,500 more for a dual core atom with 6 cell battery netbook is worth it.

This will be true if the listed price is similar on both sites. 13. Reliance Netconnect + Activation

Is there a typo there? You meant 30 days.. Right?
  14. @pulkit Arre bhai, you need to clearly specify star rating / brand preference if any etc..OR it should be assumed that you want the cheapest one? Otherwise the moment i suggest the following, you will say.. No i don't want that.. Koryo 1 Ton AC Rs 12,990 http://ezone.futureb...itioner/2441615 Kenstar 1 Ton AC Rs 11,900 http://shopping.redi...rrfnbr=10403649 Following Prices are after you put in cart with additional discount at buytheprice.. Lg 1 Ton LWA3EW1Df1 Window AC Rs 13,495 http://www.buytheprice.com/shop-online-deal/lg-1-ton-lwa3ew1df1-window-ac-__1226 Samsung 1 Ton AW122ZB Window Rs 13,495 AC http://www.buytheprice.com/shop-online-deal/samsung-1-ton-aw122zb-window-ac-__1215 Similarly for Microwave, need to be clear whether want only Grill or Convection? What Capacity? Prices vary according to this factors. Godrej Convection Microwave 20 Ltrs Rs 5,670 http://www.buytheprice.com/shop-online-deal/godrej-convection-microwave-20-ltrs--gmx20ca2-__1284 @Shashank Read this topic for good info on different class Micro SD Card >> http://www.rimweb.in...rent-companies/ Haven't seen many class 6 cards available online. Obviously if you put Class 10 instead of class 4, it will be faster. But Class 10 is needed mainly in camera when recording HD Video which requires fast write speeds. For normal use in a mobile phone, Class 4 should be sufficient for most purposes. But if you're willing to spend more, go for the best.. Transcend Memory Card MicroSDHC 16GB Class 10 Rs 1749 http://www.flipkart....9b-6433103acbd2 Transcend Memory Card MicroSD 16GB Class 4 Rs 1130 http://www.flipkart....d6-91503fc7077b
  15. @Kalpesh Parmar There is a Moser Baer 22 Inch Full HD LCD TV available at Rs 8,990 http://ezone.futureb...+LCD+TV/2451816
  16. @thilak.kmb Are you sure you're on default post paid Rconnect Plan? Because that much billing of approx Rs 1,200 is quite high. But the default plan i think also charges on per session basis even if you haven't consumed 1 MB in an individual session. If you're on Rworld plan with Network Usage Charges, your cost will be Rs 5 per MB. In that case, 240MB of usage may be possible, still looks difficult based on what you describe. There are lots of apps which use data in the background, synching without you even using anything if you are going to keep your data on 24x7. Just as an immediate safety measure, keep your Data disabled by default, use it only when needed and again immediately disable. This would prevent any background download/sync. And also find out about your plan.
  17. Please suggest between Samsung EPIC 4G or Fascinate

Precisely. That's the same point i was making based on what the Topic OP Described about just entering Android world + Budget Issue.. Neither exaggerating anything nor discouraging anyone from HTC Evo 3D.. Just gave a correct perspective about a real issue which EVO 3D has because the OP made this statement in the first post.. Getting used to ring levels and using earphones is not a substitute of "happy about it". Most people online are depressed about low sound. Lol if people have missed called due to "Deep Sleep" in Epic/Fascinate, here also they are missing it "Wide Awake", even in comparatively low noise office/home areas in US. HTC really should not have messed up on such a silly issue. Apparently this and lack of AMOLED screen would be the only two things which just about prevents it from being a complete package. I would say sound level in Fascinate is good not extraordinary loud like what i have heard on a relative's Nokia E73. But i did not have to use headphone on it while watching movies/youtube/listening songs. And i have not changed any evrc-b settings, still call quality is excellent. I suppose good call quality is inherent in CDMA even with our al cheapo desi handsets. Don't know about Epic/Evo 3D speaker placement but in Fascinate because it is at back surface, much of the sound will get suppressed if it's lying on a surface and one is not using a hard shell cover which can keep it few mm above the surface. And i have never faced any "deep sleep", missing towers issue in Fascinate till date. GPS is also good and AMOLED display eye candy is very pleasing to the eye. But i am pleasantly surprised by you catching GPS in very "close indoors" in EVO 3D as theoretically it's impossible for a GPS satellite signal to penetrate and travel very close indoors. Has HTC changed the world by inventing something dramatic not known before or it's simply a case of aGPS taking over there?
  18. Samsung Galaxy 3D

Samsung Jumping in 3D arena with Galaxy 3D? Source Remember when Samsung announced this year back in February that there is no need of 3D as of now on cellphones, it seem company is realized the importance of 3D now. According to a report in Korean publication ETNews, Samsung is now working on Galaxy 3D, which will complete with the likes of Optimus 3D and Evo 3D. It is expected to come with Android 2.3, upgradable to future Android version along with Samsung Exynos 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 4.3 inch 3D LCD, and dual 8MP cameras for 3D capture. Samsung Galaxy 3D is likely to be released in the last quarter of the year.
  19. Please suggest between Samsung EPIC 4G or Fascinate

As i have already been designated NARAD MUNI by my good friend Genius here >> http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237233 , unwillingly i have to play that role.. Lolz.. Has the punny/low sound level issue been taken care in the Generation Next HTC Evo 3D? In some cases people are not able to hear the ringtone 10 meters away in another room even in silent surrounding + low audio in Movies.. Difficulty for dialogues.. Apparently not to full satisfaction as described here > > http://community.htc...roid/f/138.aspx and around the web. HTC is replacing the phones of few.. And those QPST setting & sound enhancing apps may just be a compromise at best if the real issue is with the speaker itself rather than a software bug? If that's the case, only a better speaker in next manufactured lot can help. HTC had the same issue unresolved in Desire for it's entire lifecycle. And i would still agree with Arun & other's suggestion about Epic/Fascinate if the latest is not your thing.. No offence to the topic opener but don't get carried away by the NexGen thing if your Cash Flow is so tight that you'll have to depend on the next month's salary cheque for buying as confessed by you.. Techies/Enthusiasts/Money no matter people will always buy the latest one.. They are very important people to sustain/absorb the innovation chain.. As well as to keep the future flames of desires burning for the rest.. For you, Both EPIC/Fascinate are very capable phones in light of the above + what you said about entering/tasting Android World.. You won't regret buying any one of that..
  20. Same Samsung NP N148 Netbook is available on Letsbuy at Rs 12,038 http://www.letsbuy.c...n-black-p-18502 (After using icicilb discount code & getting Rs 1,200 Discount from listed price) You said that budget can be stretched till 20K but at that price, I would prefer buying a laptop. Still if you want, i would suggest you go for power of Laptop (Almost) + Better Size than Netbook in latest AMD Brazos (Fusion) Chipset.. It's like getting Newton's Brains AND Karina Kapoor's Body TOGETHER in One Package.. A Lethal Combo.. ASUS Eee PC 1215B Rs 19,300 http://www.theitbaza...id=121&vmcchk=1 AMD Brazos Dual Core C50 Processor, 12.1 Inch 1366x768 HD LED Display, 2GB DDR 3, 320GB HDD, Processor Integrated Directx 11 compatible ATI Radeon HD 6250 Graphics, USB 3.0, WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, Webcam. Don't know about reliability of itbazaar. Suggested it just for a lower price. You can also buy from Flipkart at Rs 20,010 http://www.flipkart....da-c87fc6ae0a54 OR offline. There is no ipod below 2K. There was a deal on ebay for shuffle which is ended now. But why spend 2K for just 2GB of storage? As suggested earlier in the topic, I would still say buy Nokia X1-01 for Rs 1,555 (after rcomlb1) http://www.letsbuy.c...rk-grey-p-18281 and put a 16 GB Card in that, Use it as an mp3 player. It's got a very loud sound output + Dual Sim phone is bonus. Still if size is important, buy any chinese mp3 player.

  22. Android Updates For Your Phone

Motorola Atrix 4G gets Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Update Source Motorola has finally released Android 2.3.4 update for Atrix 4G customers on AT&T. 23. Samsung Galaxy 3D

This is interesting. Samsung had earlier filed a patent which was published on 14th July 2011. Talks of shallow depth of field akin to a DSLR by using 2 lenses in normal point & shoot cameras. And Samsung Galaxy 3D has to have 2 lense.. Possibilities are endless. Check the Original PDF file for the patent here>> http://macnn.com/rd/...NG-THE-SAME.pdf
