Exclusive: Nokia's Windows Phone 7 concept revealed! Look what we've found! This is the first image you'll see anywhere of the early fruit of Microsoft and Nokia's budding new partnership. We have it on good authority that the technicolor phones on show are conceptual devices produced by the two companies. You shouldn't, therefore, go jumping to conclusions about retail hardware just yet, but hearts should be warmed by the familiarity of Nokia's new design -- the shape of these handsets is somewhere between its recent N8 and C7 Symbian devices and there is, as usual for Nokia, a choice of sprightly colors. The trio of keys adorning the new concept's bottom give away its Windows Phone 7 ties, but also remind us that the N8 and E7 are highly unlikely to receive any WP7 upgrade love. The best part about this whole discovery, however, might be that it confirms Steve Ballmer's assertion that the engineers of both companies have "spent a lot of time on this already." So, who else is excited about owning an Engadget-blue Microkia device? Source:Engadget

Phantom Flex The world's most flexible digital cinema camera Shoot 5-2570 fps at 1920 x 1080 1200 ISO HQ Mode for ultimate image quality Raw digital and/or video workflow solutions Flexible lens solutions Product Page http://www.visionres...s/Phantom-Flex/ Phantom Flex camera slows down time, drops jaws with incredible 2,564fps slowmo footage Ever wanted to see flowing water slowed down to the point of transforming into a series of airborne droplets? This video has that. And more. A chap by the name of Tom Guilmette got to work with a Vision Research Phantom Flex camera recently, and, being the true geek that he is, he put together a video composition of staggering slow-motion footage. When pushed to its limit, the Phantom is capable of filling every second of 1080p recording with 2,800 frames, though Tom mercifully ran it at a lower 2,564fps speed. That's still sufficient temporal resolution to let you track the wave of an impact's vibration as it travels up a BlackBerry's body -- oh yeah, it's as awesome as it sounds. Apple Is Said to Work on Cheaper, Smaller IPhones Bloomberg. By Peter Burrows and Gregory Bensinger - Feb 11, 2011 8:34 PM GMT+0530 Apple Inc. is working on new versions of the iPhone that are aimed at slowing the advance of competing handsets based on Google Inc.'s Android software, according to people who have been briefed on the plans. One version would be cheaper and smaller than the most recent iPhone, said a person who has seen a prototype and asked not to be identified because the plans haven't been made public. Apple also is developing technology that makes it easier to use the iPhone on multiple wireless networks, two people said. Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs, who remains involved in strategic decisions while on medical leave, would use lower prices to widen the iPhone's appeal and keep it from losing further ground to Android devices. Less expensive iPhones may also ratchet up pressure on Nokia Oyj, whose handsets are especially popular in Europe and some developing markets. "Instead of targeting 25 percent of the global mobile- phone market, Apple would be going after 100 percent," said Charlie Wolf, an analyst at Needham & Co. in New York, who has a "buy" rating on Apple shares. Google's share of the global smartphone market more than tripled to 32.9 percent in the fourth quarter, eclipsing Apple's 16 percent, according to Canalys. Apple will face another challenge as Nokia and Microsoft Corp. join forces in smartphone development, a partnership announced today. Natalie Kerris, a spokeswoman for Cupertino, California- based Apple, declined to comment. Apple added $1.30 to $355.84 at 9:59 a.m. New York time in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. The stock had climbed 9.9 percent this year before today. Smaller, Cheaper Apple has considered selling the new iPhone for about $200, without obligating users to sign a two-year service contract, said the person who has seen it. Android phones sell for a range of prices at AT&T Inc., Verizon Wireless and other carriers, and typically come with agreements that include a fee for broken contracts. The iPhone 4, sold in the U.S. by AT&T and Verizon Wireless, costs $200 to $300 when subsidized by a contract. While Apple has aimed to unveil the device near mid-year, the introduction may be delayed or scrapped, the person said. Few Apple employees know the details of the project, the person said. Apple often works on products that don't get released. The prototype was about one-third smaller than the iPhone 4, and it had no "home" button, said the person, who saw it last year. Apple would sell it at a low price mainly because the smartphone will use a processor, display and other components similar to those used in the current model, rather than pricier, more advanced parts that will be in the next iPhone, the person said. Component prices typically drop over time. Dual-Mode Phone Apple is also working on a so-called dual-mode phone, two people said. This device would be able to work with the world's two main wireless standards -- the global system for mobile communications, used by AT&T and overseas carriers such as Vodafone Group Plc, and code division multiple access, used by Verizon Wireless. It couldn't be determined whether Apple intended to include this capability in the cheaper iPhone. Apple is working on a technology called a universal SIM, which would let iPhone users pick from a variety of GSM networks without having to switch the so-called SIM cards that associate a phone with a network, according to one person. Having universal SIM capability built-in would help cut the cost of distributing and managing millions of SIM cards. The new features could also give Apple an advantage over mobile carriers in influencing customers. The device would be affordable without a carrier subsidy, so buyers wouldn't need to agree to terms, such as termination fees, that carriers demand in exchange for lowering the cost of the phone. Global Appeal A cheaper iPhone would help Apple make deeper inroads in markets such as China and India, where many shoppers opt for lower-priced devices that don't carry long-term contracts, Wolf said. Apple has also worked on redesigned iPhone software that would let customers choose a network and configure their device on their own, without relying on a store clerk or representative of a carrier, according to the person. Apple has gone down-market before. In 2004, when sales of the original $299-plus iPod were still rising, the company introduced the $249 iPod Mini. In 2005, when the iPod Mini was still a bestseller, Jobs discontinued it in favor of the cheaper iPod Nano. Apple began selling the last version of the iPhone, the 3GS, for just $49 in January -- though it required a two- year contract. Price cuts and the absence of a carrier subsidy may put Apple's margins under pressure. Still, Apple is able to get big discounts from suppliers because of the large volume of iPhone sales and by signing long- term contracts. The company said in January that it has executed long-term agreements totaling $3.9 billion in recent months. Google's Android operating system also may suffer if Apple makes the iPhone more versatile and affordable. The Google- backed operating system benefited when Apple wasn't available from Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless began selling the iPhone yesterday.

This time no Comedy Script...Lagta hai aap muje pitvake hi chhodenge.. Imagine Govt of India After me... Lol But sharing some thoughts... I was able to generate Port Out Code successfully from RCDMA but not porting out now because whatever few reason i had to move out is no longer there right now... -Absence of Good Handset....Got Samsung Fascinate -EVDO on Imported Handset...Got that too... Other nuisance like RCDMA Customer Care, Dumbo Web World Guys actually don't affect much, -As i am on Postpaid, don't have issues like recharge problems, VAS etc. The service generally works well. -I haven't had serious issues about Reliance Network Coverage on a regular basis.. And voice quality still is the Best..Thing Which You Use The Most.. Regarding MNP Implementation, even after the instances reported at RIMweb, here is my take.. -Few Genuine problem cases being reported here highlights the chaos...But too small a number statistically to conclude MNP system Failure... -Successful people don't report...Only People with problem do..Again gives a wrong picture statistically.. -Some initial glitch cases have reported problem solved after some time... -Many cases of human errors like incorrect UPC Port feeding...Can't blame the MNP System for that...Actually when such things get rejected...It shows that System is working well.. -Sometimes sheer igonrance on part of people for few things as can be seen here... -Port in-Port Out both networks operating together may not be a MNP Systemic issue...May be merely the way different operators Sync & implement MNP Porting Control Database with MNP service provider at different times & periodicity of update -Going by India's subscriber number, number of operators, Ours can be termed as a fairly successful MNP Implementation anywhere in the world...Just read about UK's MNP Experience..For a country the size of one of our states, it was truly horrible...From the Customer's viewpoint...Still it is after many years & the regulator there is scratching their heads on improving it.. The problem with us Indians is that it always takes a foreigner for us to believe that...Ravindranath Tagore was a great poet..And problem se bhi sahi...Chaotically Also...But India Still Works...And Works Reasonably Well.. Not writing a Comedy as i truly believe that we all have a very strong weapon called MNP in our hands after a long time of sufferring...Let's not get dejected..Let's make a success of it taking the turbulations in our stride...

^^^ So there lies the answer... A proprietory Concern is not a Company..You may have name like XYZ & Co..But for all legal purpose...Everything is owned by the Owner...The Ownner is the Individual..It is not a separate legal entity from the owner as per Indian Laws... Whereas a Private Limited OR Public Limited Company is a separate legal entity from it's Shareholders, Directors and capable of holding ownership, assets in it's own name... If something is owned in a Pvt Ltd/Public Ltd Company's name, it can't be simply transferred to Individual's name without proper procedure and change of ownership...

NOTE: This Guide misses India's First Android 2.3 Gingerbread HSPA+ Android Olive Smart-VS300 For Rs 20,000... Details Here http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__220277 Do Consider That.. Best Android Phones: February 2011 See which ones are worth your money in every price range With new Android phones releasing month after month, there can be no definitive way to declare a particular phone to be the best buy for too long. That's why we've made it a monthly habit to keep updating the Best Android phones to buy list, so that potential buyers have one place to seek advice. Phones under Rs. 10,000 There is a growing number of options in this cost conscious smartphone range, with every manufacturer trying to one-up the other by marginally improving the features. As a rule of the thumb, I'm not even going to consider all those phones with resistive touchscreens, and with good reason. As of now, we declare the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Pop S5570 as the champion of the paisa vasool range. It's an upgrade to the popular Galaxy 5 i5500 model and it brings about some important changes -- the screen size is bumped up from 2.8 inches to 3.2 inches, although it still has the low QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) resolution. But for the price, we can forgive Samsung of this sin. The camera resolution is upped from the pitiful 2 megapixel to the not-so-pitiful 3.2 megapixel. It still lacks autofocus and an LED flash; don't expect great photo quality from it. The most important change is that it runs Android 2.2 Froyo from start, unlike the Galaxy 5 which still runs Android 2.1, with no clear update roadmap in sight. It may not be the most recent Gingerbread (2.3) version, but we still appreciate it running a fairly recent version, given how fast Google churns out OS updates every year. It still has the i5500's 600 MHz processor, and with the same QVGA resolution and the Froyo performance optimizations, you can expect the User Interface to fly swiftly. Apart from this, the Galaxy Pop also adds a proximity sensor and a compass to the package. Connectivity is sorted with 3.5G (HSDPA), Wi-fi 802.11n and A-GPS support. It sells for Rs. 9,000 -- the same price that its predecessor was sold at when launched. For the price, we think the Galaxy Pop S5570 is a good package for the Android lover who likes to hold back on splurging hard earned money. Phones between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000 Till a few days, the LG Optimus P500 was the undisputed champion of value for money phones for people who want more quality than what the el-cheapo Andros offer. That was until Samsung launched the most tempting mid-range Android phone - the Galaxy Ace S5830 - for just a shade under Rs. 15,000. While the Optimus P500 is still a decent buy for Rs. 12,500, let us tell you why investing Rs. 2,500 more to buy the Galaxy Ace will repay you aplenty. First -- the screen is bigger at 3.5 inches -- imagine the iPhone's screen size. Second, it comes with a higher resolution 5 megapixel autofocus camera with an LED flash (the P500 doesn't have one). Although both the P500 and the Ace run the same type of processor, the Ace gets a speed bump of 200 MHz which brings the clock speed to 800 MHz. The Galaxy Ace too runs Android 2.2 out of the box. At a price of Rs. 14,990, it is a tempting buy and gets the upper hand in this spot. Phones between Rs. 15,000 and 20,000 This range is currently ruled by the one and only champion -- the Motorola DEFY. We had a chance to use this phone intensively, and I walked away impressed. It's a tough nut to crack, thanks to the resistance from water and dust. The screen is protected by Corning's scratch-proof Gorilla glass. It has a bigger 3.7 inch high-resolution (854 x 480 pixel) screen, and yet the phone's body is very petite. The interface runs pretty smooth thanks to the 800 MHz processor and the PowerVR SGX530 graphics chip. The camera doesn't take stunning pics but they're pretty decent in quality overall. The call quality and network reception is awesome and the loudspeaker is powerful. The only bottleneck in the DEFY is its Android 2.1 OS, but it is expected to be updated to Version 2.2 in the second quarter of 2011. At Rs. 18,500, you're getting a good set of add-ons when compared to the pick in the category before. Phones between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 30,000 For people willing to invest a good sum into feature-packed Android phones in this price range, we'd ask you to do one thing -- HOLD YOUR PURCHASES! Have we gone nuts? Of course, we're a little nutty all the time. But seriously, the main reason for why we're saying this can be explained in three letters -- MWC, or the Mobile World Congress 2011 that's going to happen next week. The MWC will have all phone manufacturers launch their latest handsets. Phones like the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc and XPERIA Play and the Samsung Galaxy S2. Then there are phones like the Motorola Atrix 4G or the LG Optimus 2X that have been formally announced and are expected to start selling soon. What will these monster phones bring to the table? Some will bring dual-core processors and 1080p HD video playback, higher screen resolutions and biometric fingerprint readers. 8 megapixel camera sensors will become a standard, and front-facing video-call cameras, that were a rarity even in the best Android phones till now, will also appear in many of them. So, when these phones launch in India at that Rs. 30,000 price range, you'll feel like a fool having spend very close to that amount in purchasing a high-end Android phone today. And once these phones land, we can only expect the pricing of current "high-end" phones like the Dell Venue or the HTC Desire HD to go down for the fear of being called outdated, overpriced handsets. But if you don't really care about all the features we mentioned above, and cannot wait any longer to buy one (maybe even both), then here are our recommendations. Just don't come crying back saying we didn't warn you. In the under Rs. 25,000 bracket, we find the HTC Desire to be quite a tempting buy. A big S-LCD display with HTC's eye candy Sense UI and it runs Android 2.2 now. The Desire feels nice to hold and has a good build quality. It's got all the features that an avid smartphone user would want, and a Rs. 22,000 price tag that might seem very reasonable to many. In the Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 bracket, if you really had to buy one now, we'd put our money on the Dell Venue, since the original Galaxy S isn't selling anymore. The Venue has a couple of pluses over the former; like a body that isn't entirely made of plastic and the 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash. It sells for Rs. 28,000. Next week is going to be an insane week for mobile phones enthusiasts, and we can't wait to lay our hands on the new Titans that will be launched. But if you want to buy an Android phone today, hope this guide has helped you make a choice. Source:Techtree

Aids Awareness Day Today - Let Me Ans Ur Querries And Doubts - Scientifically
rajanmehta replied to Genius's topic in The Lounge
Can HIV spread through Saliva? Case has doctors thinking Menaka Rao. DNA Mumbai. Feb 9, 2011. HIV, according to experts, is not normally transmitted through saliva. Transmission of the virus from the host is possible when saliva is mixed with blood. In an unusual case, which should make the experts revisit their earlier position, a 50-year-old man has contacted HIV through his son's saliva. The man was bitten by his 32-year-old HIV positive stepson. But the latter did not have ulcers in his mouth, which usually leads to saliva getting mixed with blood. Documented instances speak of the presence of the virus in saliva, but transmission takes place only in the above case. "The son had pulled out the thumb nail of his father. Since the wound was raw, the virus could enter easily," said Dr Alaka Deshpande, who runs the Centre of Excellence ART clinic at JJ hospital. The patient had come to her last year. To understand the case better, the doctors wanted to verify if the father carried the same virus that has infected his son. Deshpande then sent the patient to National Institute of Research in Reproductive Health for further testing. Dr AH Bandivdekar and Dr Shivaji Jadhav from the department of biochemistry and virology did gene sequencing of the HIV virus in the father and the son's blood and concluded that both viruses were the same. "This confirmed the source of the HIV virus. Also, the son's saliva had a high viral load which may have also caused the transmission," said Dr Deshpande. Unfortunately, the father was not given post exposure prophylaxis (PEP), a short-term anti-retroviral treatment given to reduce the likelihood of HIV infection after potential exposure. The family doctor told him that the virus cannot spread via saliva. "He was admitted to JJ hospital for meningitis. After four days, he told us about this history. His blood was then sent for HIV testing and he was discovered HIV positive," said Deshpande. She stressed that family physicians should know about HIV infected human bites and should treat it with PEP, in which the treatment should start within two hours of the potential exposure. The father's viral load was more than 20 lakh then. "He was treated as per US guidelines so that the virus does not spread to other organs. After treatment his viral load came down." This case study was presented at the International Conference on Emerging Frontiers and Challenges in HIV/AIDS Research by Dr Jadhav to show that HIV infected human bites should be treated with PEP. -
