How to Root LG Optimus One & remove unwanted apps Rooting LG Optimus One is very simple, you just need one application and you will get the root access. The good part is you can use the same application to un-root the phone in case you want too. You can root the Optimus One to remove all the crap applications that come-preloaded on your Optimus One or to use apps which require root access. After you have removed the applications, you can un-root and bingo, you are back to all good unrooted Optimus One without all the crap apps. Steps to root: * Download Z4Root app from here http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=833953 or Android Market. * Transfer it to you Optimus One and install it * Run the app and select permanent root * If will take a little time and your phone will restart * You phone is rooted now and you have superuser installed Steps to remove all the crap apps: * Download and Install Titanium Backup from Android Market * Grant it Super User permission * You should have a pop-up screen in front of you and one of the buttons on the bottom should say "problems". Click that. * It will install the latest version of busybox * Now, Tapping the "Backup/Restore" button brings you to the application list – or rather the list of available "items". * Tapping an application brings up a popup from which you can select actions to be taken with the selected item: You can e.g. run an application, back it up, and restore it (or its settings). You also may also decide to un-install the application – even if it is a system app! But with the latter, you should be very careful: Remove the wrong thing, and your phone may start malfunctioning. * Use the Un-Install for all the apps that you do not want on your phone. * Now if you want remove Titanium Backup and unroot Optimus One or leave it like that. With around 50 days left for the 7th Anniversary of RIMweb.in, it is time to vote for the RIMweb.in Member of the Year - 2010. This recognition is meant to honor the best member of the year who has made significant contributions for the RIMweb.in community. A community depends on all its members and not a few individuals; we are indeed blessed to have many contributing members in our community; but we still need to recognize the top contributing members so as to inspire every other member to achieve the same and also to keep them motivated. What are the few qualities that makes the best RIMwebian? Here are some of them that comes to my mind: - Supports anyone for problems faced for any reason without monetary consideration or self interest (The very purpose and soul of this forum). - Is always accessible and prompt in responses with clear understanding of the problem and resolution. - Who is always one step ahead of others for technical skills and knowledge of the latest. - Who burns the midnight oil to find solutions for others. - Who wants to share his knowledge and skills for the benefit of the community. - Who has provided the best handsets at the most attractive prices with solid and stable performance in terms of programming and performance. - Who has always kept the interest of RIMweb at heart and not the personal interest. Well the qualities can be many but I think you get the essence of what I am trying to convey. Make Your own Judgment about the RIMweb.in Member of the Year - 2010! I have added a list of the few RIMwebians in the poll who I think deserve to be nominated for this award in my limited knowledge. Anyone whose name may not appear here should take no offense. It will be due to my limited understanding of the deserving candidates only and not anything lacking on their part. In the original list of nominees, I had included the name of Arun, our Admin; but he has refused to be a nominee citing the reason that as the admin/owner of the forum he does not find it appropriate. I respect that but he remains the reason we all are here and so i would say he is RIMweb person of this Decade!! Cheers for him!! Along with your vote in the poll, members are expected to post their own reasoning for choosing a particular person. However please do not post anything that reveals the current result/trend of the poll. Viewing results before voting is current disabled in the forum. This is a private poll which means that others will not know whom you voted for. The RIMweb.in Member of the Year - 2010 will be announced on the 7th Anniversary day as that is when the poll ends. The RIMweb.in Member of the Year - 2010 will win a RIMweb.in engraved Apple iPod Shuffle (6th Generation). 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th winners will get the book "Ambani & Sons" which is a must read for any Reliance Follower. If you wish to sponsor/donate for the prizes for Member of the Year 2010 and the upcoming 7th Anniversary Giveaways, please send an email to: arun@rimweb.com I request EVERY single member of RIMweb.in to vote and post to really make this a broad-based people's poll. You owe at least this much to RIMWEB.in community. Thank you for reading & voting; I wish everyone a Happy Diwali!

@aankush Trouble with all this Tablets on Ebay is one can never be 100% sure of the Specifications mentioned. Found a link where one of the tablet's specs in your list was faked to contain A8 Cortex CPU. Link http://www.slatedroi...hp?topic=3787.0 Having said that Rs. 11,990 Tablet looks better in Specs(If they are true) with Android 2.2 but with Odd Screen Resolution of 800x600 (4:3). It mentions 3D Accelerometer (Whatever that means) but not clearly mentioning whether all 4 side screen rotation is there or not. The other one mentions 4 side screen rotation. This one says Flash 10.1 support but i doubt it. Mentions Full HD 1080p support but no mention whether an HDMI port is there. Ask the Ebay Seller all this questions before buying. How reliable this tablets are? Only you can answer that question after buying and using for some time. This will be Resistive Touch Screens. See don't consider this chinese tablets with ipads, Samsung Tab etc. If you are a very tech savvy user with lot of cash and very early adopter of technology ready to pay very large price premium to Apple and Samsung, don't consider it..... Not for you then. For normal users, this cheap cost chinese tablets can be a good route to try the Tablet World with some quality limitations but most of the functions working reasonably well.

Reliance Infotel LTE Ready Tablet for Rs 8,000
rajanmehta replied to rajanmehta's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
RIL to enter 4G services space Even as operators like Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices and Reliance Communications try to get their act together in 3G services, Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries Ltd has started trials on fourth-generation (4G) mobile technology and is getting ready to enter 4th generation telecom services. As per reports, RIL team at Navi Mumbai has started trials of 4G connection and got download speed of 80 Mbps and upload speed of 20 Mbps – that's much higher than current 3G connection of 3.1 Mbps or 7.2 Mbps. The 4G technology — which is due to be launched sometime next year – will be provided through RIL's telecom arm Reliance Infotel that won wireless internet spectrum auctioned recently. The 4G enables subscribers to watch high-definition video streaming while on the move and live mobile TV. Here the data delivery on mobile phones is even higher than 3G services, thus, you surf internet at lightning speeds. RIL at the moment is looking to finalise equipment as well handset orders. Sources tell NDTV that RIL is in talks with global technology major Qualcomm to get their LTE technology which will allow it to provide 4G services using the BWA band. What could prove challenging for many of the existing telcos is the fact that along with data, RIL is looking to provide voice service, and also making it literally into a full-fledged mobile service. :Sorprendido: And all of this will be at a much lower cost than 3G because the price of BWA spectrum is much lower than 3G spectrum. NDTV -
@Hetaldp Does this mean that even if there is a Spectrum Auction sometime in future for CDMA EVDO (Which is being talked about quite often now)..... The additional spectrum can be utilized only for carrying EVDO Data and not voice... What i mean to say is that will the voice quality in CDMA remain the same as today unlike in 3G GSM where technically one expect a better voice quality if you are on a 3G Voice+Data Plan? And what about LTE network rollout by Verizon in U.S.? Is that also limited to High Speed Data with no Voice Carriage?

We are waiting for 1 Ghz Dual Core Nvidia Tegra 2 based mobiles and tablets Yet. And Texas Instruments has unleased a new weapon already. 1.5 Ghz Dual Core Mobile Processor OMAP4440 SoC. Texas Instruments has announced its latest mobile processor, the TI OMAP4440, a SoC packaging a pair of 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore CPUs along with two ARM Cortex-M3 cores to power-efficiently offload time-critical and control tasks. Coupled with the POWERVR 3D graphics engine, that provides a quoted 1.25x increase in graphics performance (including 2x faster HD video playback, with support for 1080p60 and 3D stereoscopic 1080p) and a 30-percent cut in webpage loading times. There's also support for 1080p video conferencing and gesture recognition, along with two 12-megapixel cameras operating in parallel. The latter will mean that devices based on the OMAP4440 – which could include smartphones or tablets – will be able to record Full HD 3D video. TI is betting big on video teleconferencing, with 720p HD video support for multi-chat with up to four other users, and native support for H.264, VP7, H.263, SVC and other formats. TI expect the OMAP4440 to begin sampling in Q1 2011, with volume production in the second half of the year. It's pin-to-pin compatible with the company's OMAP4430, itself set to show up in commercial products in the first half of 2011 (and powering the TI Blaze developer tablet), offering a straightforward way for manufacturers to significantly boost performance. Sony Playstation Phone Images Surface
rajanmehta posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Source: Techtree Finally, the rumors have turned out to be true. Sony's PlayStation Phone seems to be a reality and is likely to say daylight officially anytime soon. Engadget has got their hands on images of Sony Ericsson's much rumored PlayStation Phone prototype model. Running Google Android 3.0 Gingerbread, this phone has 1GHz Snapdragon processor and over 3.7-inch screen. This prototype looks pretty similar to the mockup shown by Engadget back in August. Yes, it is unbelievable for many but the photos of the prototype phone seem original. In August, we reported that Sony will introduce the PlayStation Portable Go like Android smartphone in October. Now the images of PlayStation Phone prototype are evidential enough to assume that this phone indeed is in works. Sporting PSPgo like form factor, the PlayStation Phone runs Android 3.0 aka Gingerbread mobile operating system. The prototype model didn't have the Timescape skin found in Xperia models but we believe it might get PlayStation's XMB (XrossMediaBar). On the body, the two shoulder buttons exist on the top corners and when you slide out the lower panel, you can see directional buttons and other set of action buttons to game. In the centre lies a huge touch pad that will serve as a mini-trackpad for the phone. On the lower panel, there's a separate Android menu button on left corner and Select-Start buttons on the right corner. Sony would be using microSD for storage instead of its proprietary Memory Stick Pro in the PlayStation Phone. The front display seems to be somewhere between 3.7-inches to 4.1-inches with a regular set of menu buttons at the bottom of the display. The PlayStation Phone has a camera at the back panel with a flash (looks like Xenon flash to me) and a VGA camera in the front - basically, usable for video chat. Inside the phone lies 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon chipset with 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM. The Snapdragon MSM8655 chipset is powerful enough to support 3.8-inch display and the Adreno 205 GPU promises better graphics. Hence we're betting that this phone would be capable of 720p HD recording as well. As far as the release of this phone goes, we believe that it might be released along-side the Android 3.0 Gingerbread announcement next year. For Sony, the new PSPgo hasn't been much of a success compared to the Nintendo DS iterations. However, dropping the UMD (Universal Media Disc) support in PSPgo was a wise move and it will be carried to PlayStation Phone as well. But how many of you would really want to go for combo of PlayStation Portable and smartphone into one device? We would like to hear your thoughts on this. -
Huawei Ideos X6 Coming To India By Mid January 2011
rajanmehta replied to rajanmehta's topic in Other handsets
That's the typical response we have for everything chinese!! Isn't it. But Huawei is not the same as manufacturers of hundreds of cheap chinese mobiles we see in India. It's a Worldwide Telecom Equipment Giant. Supplies to majority of Indian Telcos for their Network Gear. And 3G Equipments. Again Huawei is major supplier to all Indian Telcos. Who makes majority of the USB Data Cards which you buy from Reliance, Idea, Airtel, Vodafone for 3G GSM and CDMA-EVDO? Till now it was not active in Consumer Mobile Market, so awareness is low. Huawei Ideos, is the first economical Android having Google Branding launched by it 2 months back worldwide and is a good success. Now it is following it with High End Androids. Most will be pure Google. What hardware goes inside an Android?. Processor and Chipset by Samsung or Qualcomm, Screen may be Samsung, Wi-Fi Chipsets by Broadcomm, Flash Memory by Samsung... the list goes on. The quality difference if any will remain in the design of the phone, plastic and the Software part. But again here Huawei will be most probably pure google (Ideos is), So it will get Android updates quickly. Since Ideos is launched very recently in India, Retail Channels will take time to Stock. But in India, Retailers will stock what sells and if Huawei Pricing is right, it will be there. Not advocating Huawei over any other brand, but aren't We Indian Consumers supposed to be very Smart when parting with Money and seek value in everything. -
Dhirajbhai's suggestion is excellent based on your usage and requirement. However as you said the budget is 15-18k and can stretch by about 3k more and if your requirement is not very immediate.... This one Coming in Mid January-2011 in India http://www.rimweb.in...d-january-2011/
