Toshiba has announced new AC100 Mobile Internet Device running Google Android 2.1 operating system in India. Toshiba AC100 houses Nvidia Tegra System-on-Chip to run the Android 2.1 smoothly. Sporting a 10.1-inch display, Toshiba AC100 would be available at all leading electronic and computer outlets in India for Rs. 18,721. One of its kind Toshiba AC100 sports Nvidia Tegra 250 System-on-Chip processor that was debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 in January. Tegra 250 or Tegra 2 architecture features dual-core ARM Core A9 architecture System-on-Chip that runs up to 1GHz and has eight independent processors. Toshiba AC100 would be capable of 1080p HD encode-decode and Flash 10.1 hardware acceleration with the Tegra 250 chip. Toshiba's AC100 MID has 10.1-inch Clear SuperView display with LED backlight and supports 1024x600 pixel resolution. That just undermines the prowess of Tegra 2 chip which is capable of supporting 1080p HD video. Other internal hardware includes 512MB DDR2 333MHz RAM and mere 8GB Flash storage. For wireless connectivity, AC100 has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support. You can connect different portable devices one USB and one Mini-USB port. The MID also offers a 1.3 megapixel webcam, Audio-Mic combo port, SD & MMC card reader, and HDMI Port for hooking it to HD Display. Running Android 2.1 Eclair operating system, we're sure that this laptop would be cable of Android 2.2 Froyo update on it. But Toshiba has put in Home Menu and a customizable desktop with widgets and shortcuts on it. That means Froyo 2.2 can be installed on only when the update is officially available. Techtree

Motorola Launches Android-Based Smartphone ‘Charm’ For Rs. 13990
rajanmehta replied to Honest's topic in Other handsets
Unique feature of this phone is the Backtrack Navigation Pad on the backside. This is similar to touchpads found on notebooks. Theory is that when you are holding the phone naturally, your fingers are there on the backside and you can use the trackpad with the natural grip. Using the front trackpad would put a strain on your finger as you will have to bend them and it is not the natural posture. So some help in avoiding Repetitive Stress Injury. -

Help Needed To Make PC Dual Boot
rajanmehta replied to parin's topic in General Technical Discussion
All this hard work may not be required in majority of the cases when one wants to use XP alongwith Win 7. Windows 7's built in XP Mode works very well with tight integration, runs all XP apps. No zanzat to create partitions, then install xp, do the dual boot, install anti virus, drivers on xp and wasting a lot of space. Earlier XP Mode worked only with Hardware Virtualisation Enabled CPU's only. And guess Intel hawked most of the Core 2 Duo Laptop CPU's without Hardware Virtualisation. Almost all of AMD's laptop CPU had hardware virtualisation since years. Now with the update to Virtual PC, XP mode runs on Win 7 even without hardware virtualisation enabled CPU and works for all laptops. -

Yep!! Among the 3 options you listed, DTDC would be the best choice. But mind you, DTDC operates through franchisee model in most of the locations.

No HDMI. LOL at this price. But component good enough for 1080i. This device gives 720p which again is good enough for ripped and downloaded movies and also for original DVD's copied.- 6,376 replies

Barkha Dutt, Vir Sanghvi -- Examples Of India's Unethical Money-Driven Media
rajanmehta replied to kesav's topic in The Lounge
It is very easy to blame the journalists for all the ills and scandals we have in India. Not so say that they are following the highest ethics of journalism now a days. Yes they carry a different persona when in front of the Camera and when talking on the phone. But what about the politicians who have allowed them to be the part of all the power games and backroom negotiations. If they had any Character left, all this journalists would not have had any role to play. Just listen to all the tapes in my post no 2 of this thread. Everyone including Mr. Raja, Kanimozhi are there discussing gleefully the portfolios they are interested in, how to convince Mr. Karunanidhi about excluding or including someone with the same journalists and the dirty family politics about excluding Dayanidhi Maran!! And Mr. Karunanidhi perhaps runs the biggest family enterprise in Indian Politics. What a fall for a guy whose leftist leanings, rational anti religion ideas, no caste beliefs were at one point of time the folklore of Tamilnadu Politics. I have always noticed that all Politicians with supposed to be Leftist leanings are more hypocrite. For the Right Wing, you atleast know them very well at the outset. I have seen Iruvar (The original Tamil Version) which is perhaps Mani Ratnam's best work till date and potrays the life and times of Mr. Karunanidhi and M.G.Ramchandran in Tamilnadu Politics. If you compare Today's Karunanidhi, he is merely a caricature of what he was earlier. Listen to the tapes. Journalists are obviously guilty but primarily it's the Politicians who are to be blamed for things to come to such a pass. And i have no vested interest in Tamilnadu Politics. I am a Gujarati. -
Please suggest between Motorola Quench Xt3 Or Samsung Galaxy3
rajanmehta replied to swapnil05in's topic in Handset Suggestions
Swapnil Let me end your confusion. Going to be C.A. soon!! Your job is to confuse your clients not to get confused yourself!! Points of Differentiation between Motorola Quench XT3 and Samsung Galaxy 3 Android Version is same 2.1 in both. Processor: Moto 600 Mhz Samsung 667 Mhz. Wonder how much difference this will have on performance? Screen Size 3.2" same. Display Resolution: Moto 320x480 Samsung 240x400 Moto Wins Comprehensively Screen Colors: Moto 262K Samsung 16 Million Samsung Wins theoretically but human eye is not so capable yet to differntiate the exact details 3G Moto HSDPA 7.2 Mbps Samsung HSDPA 3.6Mbps Moto wins Wi-Fi Moto 802.11 b/g Samsung 802.11 b/g/n n Standard support in Samsung purely theoretical. Don't have any practical value. Bluetooth: Moto V2.0 with A2DP Samsung V3.0 with A2DP Again V3.0 not much of a help in practical terms. Camera: Moto 3.2 MP Fixed Focus Samsung 3.15MP with Autofocus Flash in Moto No Flash in Samsung. Video Recording: Moto 320x480 at 15fps Samsung QVGA at 15fps Moto Wins. GPS: A-GPS in both Battery: Moto 1270mAH Samsung 1500mAH Talk Time: Moto 492 Minutes (GSM) 384 Minutes (WCDMA) Samsung 910 Minutes (GSM) 430 Minutes (WCDMA) Manufacturer Claimed Standby: Moto Upto 560 Hours(GSM) Upto 545 Hours(WCDMA) Samsung Upto 625 Hours (GSM) Upto 483 Hours (WCDMA) Manufacturer Claimed Samsung has better battery. So the verdict: If you don't mind absence of Flash in Camera, lower 3G Speed, low display resolution, QVGA video recording, and value battery life as a prime criteria, Go for Samsung Galaxy 3. Otherwise Motorola Quench XT3. -
