  1. External SMTP Access for Reliance Broadband+

As Arun asked, i am assuming that you are unable to send email when using your email client with Reliance Broadband+. Most of the ISP will block access to an external SMTP Server. If you are facing this issue, download this free software from here Free SMTP Server. Install it on your PC as per the instructions given. Then configure your email client to use this software instead of your ISP SMTP Server. You should be able to send email to gmail, yahoo or hotmail from your mail client.
  2. Data Infosys offers 'BharatBerry' service to Nokia JAIPUR: Data Infosys today said it would offer BharatBerry service, which the company had claimed provided alternative to the controversial BlackBerry services, to Nokia handsets. BlackBerry services have run into rough weather with the government over interception of its data. "we are offering the software for Nokia handsets also, which offers more advanced push mail with over the air (OVA) backup of contacts, task, calendar and notes. It also provides sync to outlook," Ajay Data, CEO of the company, said here today. The issue that the online usage of BlackBerry phones could be monitored by the government would be fully-solved with our service 'Bharat Berry', a country-made compliant product designed keeping in consideration with all necessary Indian laws and works with all BlackBerry and other phones the company had claimed. "The service is free up to February 2011, and after that, the users will be charged Rs100 per month. While to ensure just synchronisation of calendar and contacts, the user will have to pay just half of that (Rs50)," he said. "In our quest to bring down the cost of accessing emails and offering security to PIM (Personal Information Manager) data and making it available to every class of society who needs email, we will be now making available the BharatBerry software available for Nokia handsets (Symbian S60 3rd edition)," he added. The service on BlackBerry or Nokia handsets ensures that the user remain connected to email, calendar and contacts through the servers hosted in India," Data said. The BharatBerry service was launched by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot last month. At present, the software is targetted on Nokia and Blackberry handsets and by next month, it would be supporting all major mobile handsets based on Android, Windows mobile and J2ME, which will cover all major handset companies, Data claimed. Retinal Implant Successful in Bringing Vision to Blind Retina Implant AG out of Reutlingen, Germany is reporting the publication of a clinical study evaluating the company's subretinal electronic chips in totally blind volunteers. The device contains 1500 active microphotodiodes, each with "its own amplifier and local stimulation electrode." These then control the generation of electrical impulses going up to the brain representing a 38 × 40 pixel grid. Three people in this study, blind due to hereditary retinal degeneration, were implanted with the device that's 3mm in diameter. All three reported varying levels of vision and one of the subjects was even able to discern common objects like knives and forks laying on the table. Core of the implant is a microchip of approximately 3 mm in diameter and 50 μm thickness, with an array of roughly 1500 pixel fields. Each pixel measures 70 x 70 μm. Photocells, an amplifying circuit, and a stimulation electrode are attached to each pixel field. The photocells absorb the light entering the eye, transforming it into electrical signals. A tiny power line is providing energy from an external source behind the ear. Sixteen additional electrodes are placed for testing purposes at the tip of the implant. The strength of the light signals controls the amount of current released by each electrode, stimulating the neighboring intact retinal nerve cells electrically. The nerve impulses generated by the retinal cells are processed in the remaining neuronal network of the retina and transmitted via the optic nerve to the visual cortex, creating visual sensations. This is why an unimpaired, regularly functioning optic nerve is an unconditional requirement for the implants' operational reliability in any approach of a retinal implant.

PharmaJet introduces needle-free injectors How many times have you seen a friend or a relative with diabetes inject themselves with insulin subcutaneously? Overtime they may say they get use to the pain but that's only because they have no other choice but to bare it. What if there was a safer, needle-free way? PharmaJet offers just that. And it seems like PharmaJet has already been approved for use in the US for sometime. How it works is that the injector uses a new form of technology in which it delivers liquid medications at high speed, creating a "liquid jet" that penetrates the skin and delivers the medicine through the skin in less than 1/3 of a second. Doing exactly what patients today already do but without the needle. The great thing about PharmaJet is that it works as subcutaneous injector as well as intramuscular. E Tomb The E-Tomb makes complete sense for people who spend endless hours tweeting, Facebook-ing and blogging. It's the kinda tombstone with Bluetooth and solar panels and stores your logs; friends and family can come over and access your virtual life from it and keep each other updated with anecdotes about you by uploading their stories to the tombstone. Sounds a bit spooky right now, but since RFID Tags for this are already popular, the next best thing has to be updates from the gave, and the world beyond!

  17. Talaq On Cellphone Valid : Deoband

Times of India DEOBAND: Talaq uttered thrice by a Muslim man on a mobile phone will be considered valid even if his wife is unable to hear it all the three times due to network and other problems, a fresh fatwa has ruled. The fatwa was given by Darul-Ifta, the fatwa department of leading Sunni Islamic seminary Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband, in reply to a query by a man. The man in his query had asked that in case no witness was present when he utters talaq thrice to his wife over phone whether it would be considered valid or not. "I angrily said talaq three times to my wife on cell phone but she claimed that she didn't hear it even once and nobody was around both of us. Please tell me whether talaq has taken place," he asked. In its reply, Dar-ul-Ifta said, "If you have given three talaqs to your wife, all the three took place and she became haram (forbidden) for you." The fatwa said the woman will be free to marry anywhere she likes after her iddat (three month period after divorce) is over. "It is not necessary for talaq to take place that the wife hears it or the witnesses are present," it ruled. In October, the seminary had ruled that saying talaq three times even on a humourous note is valid as per the Sharia (Islamic Law) and the marriage stands nullified. A youth in his query had stated that while chatting with his wife over net he had jokingly punched talaq thrice. Claiming to have less knowledge about Islam, the youth said he didn't know how talaq is executed. The youth had stated that he was happily living with his wife and wanted to live with her in future as well. Darul-Ifta in its reply had said once talaq is put out three times it amounts to divorce and her wife was "haraam" for him.

  22. Minister Kapil Sibal was today given the additional charge of the telecom ministry by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a development that takes the portfolio away from DMK at least for the time being. Official sources said Sibal will hold the charge of the Ministry held by A Raja, who yesterday resigned facing allegations of scam in 2G spectrum allocation. The arrangement is seen to be temporary in view of the ongoing Parliament session when issues related to the ministry are to be handled at the senior level, particularly at a time when the ministry is facing allegations of corruption of huge magnitude. By tradition, a reshuffle of the Council of Ministers is not undertaken during a Parliament session. Sibal, a renowned lawyer-turned-politician, was a week earlier given the additional charge of Ministries of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, which fell vacant after incumbent Prithviraj Chavan was made Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
