  1. BIRTHDAY WISHES!

Dear Kamal (Honest) A Very Happy Birthday to You. Since you like good music, here is a beautiful song on your birthday.
  2. Everyone Be Careful and do enough research before doing this. Thought this is good info for Iphone users, so sharing. Probably the most easiest way to install Android on an iPhone 2G/3G is via iPhoDroid, which we did cover previously. But the problem with it is; you should have a computer to run the whole process of installing Android on your iPhone 2G/3G. But thanks to Bootlace 2.1, you can now install Android 2.2.1 Froyo on your jailbroken iPhone without needing to connect it to any PC or Mac! To kick things off, Bootlace 2.1 is only compatible with the following iPhones and iOS': iPhone 2G running iOS 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. iPhone 3G running iOS 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2 and 4.1. And the jailbreaking tools which are supported by Bootlace 2.1 are: PwnageTool Redsn0w Blackra1n You can follow our guide for jailbreaking the iPhone 3G using Redsn0w here, Blackra1n here and PwnageTool here. iPhone 2G users can similarly follow the steps to jailbreak using Redsn0w here, Blackra1n here and PwnageTool here. If you don't meet the above requirements then you can't go ahead with the installation of Android on your iPhone 2G/3G. If you do, then proceed with the following steps. Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 2G/3G using the steps given in the links above. When you're done, run Cydia from your iPhone's springboard, and add "http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk/" (without quotes) as repository. Tap "Add Source", and then you need to install "Bootlace" as shown in the screenshots below. Step 2: Once you have installed Bootlace, fire up the app from the homescreen:. Step 3: From "Bootlace", you need to install "OpeniBoot". Step 4: Once "OpeniBoot" has been installed, tap on the "iDroid" tab in the bottom row to install iDroid. Step 5: Once iDroid has been installed on your iPhone, tap the "QuickBoot" tab in the bottom row, followed by tapping on the Android logo, your iPhone will now restart and boot into Android. That's it, you're done! You now have Android 2.2.1 Froyo on your iPhone. Please refer to Step 4 again if you want to check for Android updates in future. And it's highly recommended that you perform the whole feat over a WiFi connection. source redmond pie

Difference in PERCEPTION Woman 1: I had a fine evening, how was yours? Woman 2: It was a disaster. My husband came home, ate his dinner in three minutes and fell asleep in two minutes. How was yours? Woman 1: Oh it was amazing! My husband came home and took me out to a romantic dinner. After dinner we walked for an hour. When we came home he lit the candles around the house and afterwards talked for an hour. It was like a fairytale! At the same time, their husbands are talking at work. Husband 1: How was your evening? Husband 2: Great. I came home, dinner was on the table, I ate and fell asleep. It was great! What about you? Husband 1: It was horrible. I came home, there's no dinner because they cut the electricity because I hadn't paid the bill; so I had to take my wife out to dinner which was so expensive that I didn't have money left for a cab. We had to walk home which took an hour; and when we got home remember there was no electricity so I had to light candles all over the house! After all, I was so aggravated that I couldn't fall asleep and my wife was jabbering away for another hour!

  6. Do we then conclude that the Supreme Court of India's strictures against Mr. Raja's continuation in office, Comptroller and Auditor General of India's massive audit report pointing out huge irregularities, blatant violations, Former Telecom Secretary's revelations, Mr. Raja flouting every advice from PM's Office, DOT Eligibility Criteria, TRAI Reccomedations are all part of this story scripted by this GSM Cartel, Opposition and Media? Can two of the most independent constitutional authorities in India, Supreme Court and Comptroller and Auditor General be influenced by GSM Operators, Opposition and Media? God save India then!!
  7. @tanveer Now the child is going to be delivered on 25th November. No menstrual period in the last leg of pregnancy!! LOL!!

How To Enable The Android Market In The Google Android Emulator Would you like to try out apps from the Android Market on your PC? So here's how you can install apps from the Android Market in the emulator. First, you'll need to have the Android Emulator setup on your computer as shown in the first post of the thread. Now, download the new Android Virtual Machine that has the Android Market installed. Select the Android 1.5 link, as this is the simplest to setup. Once the download is finished, you can open the file in your favorite archival program. Open your Android virtual machine folder; you can do this easily by entering the following in your Explorer address bar: %userprofile%/.android/avd Copy the files and folder you just extracted to the .android/avd folder. In your .android/avd folder, open the new AndEmu.ini file in Notepad. We need to change the path to our Android folder. If you're using Windows XP, replace user with your username; if you're using Windows 7 or Vista, replace Documents and Settings\user with Users\your_user_name, replacing your_user_name with your real user name. Here's our edited AndEmu.ini file, though again, remember that you'll need to specify the correct username for your computer. Remember to save the file when you're finished. You're now ready to start the new virtual Android. Open the Android SDK Manager, and you should see your new AndEmu listed along with your other Android virtual machines. Click Start to run it. Alternately, you can start it from Command Prompt, or you can create a shortcut to it on your desktop. If you entered the folder path incorrectly before, you may see an error as below. Go back and correct your .ini file, and then try again. Setting up Your New Virtual Android If everything's entered correctly, you'll soon see your new Android emulator starting up. This may take several minutes to startup, especially on your first run. Once it's started, click the Android logo to setup your virtual device. You can step through a tutorial to help you get accustomed with Android, or click Skip to go directly to your home screen. This may be fun to look at, but is mainly aimed at helping you get used to using Android on a touchscreen so is not overly useful on a PC. Now you'll be asked to setup your Google Account. Click Sign in and enter your standard Gmail account info, or create a new one. Alternately, you can skip this and set it up later. Once you're done, you'll see your Android home screen with a Market link, all running on your PC! Using the Android Market To download and use Apps on your Android virtual machine, click the Market icon on the home screen or in the Apps menu. If you haven't already entered your Google account into the virtual Android, you'll need to set it up as before. Android will then sync with Google's servers, which may take a few moments. Accept the Market terms of service when they appear. Now you can browse, download, and purchase apps from the Android Market, directly on the emulator on your PC. Browse apps by categories to find something you want to download. Or Press the Menu button on the emulated phone to search for apps and choose viewing options. Once you've found an app you want to try out, click the Install button on its description page. Click Ok to continue installing the application. Your new app will now download, and you can check it's progress from the notifications bar at the top. Now, go back to your home screen by pressing the home button on the virtual phone. Your new apps will be in the apps menu, so select one to try it out. Here's the popular Opera Mini browser in virtual Android. Or, you can even try out some Android games directly from your PC. Conclusion Whether you would like to try out Android apps without purchasing a new mobile device, or simply want to test apps safely before installing them on your Android phone, this is a great way to take advantage of the whole Android Market on your PC. Some apps may not work correctly on a PC, such as camera and microphone apps that require specific hardware, but we were able to try out a large variety of apps this way. If you're using a Mac or Linux computer, you can use this, too, with the Android Emulator for your OS. Enjoy! How to Geek
  9. Test Drive Android On Your Pc

I had seen that link. But there is a difference. In your link, the project is to port Android OS to Netbooks and other x86 architecture. It is not purely a mobile OS then. What i shared is an Android emulator working on PC and so it will be exactly as it will run on your mobile device and hence may give users correct idea as a Mobile OS. Also the Android-x86 project currently works only on a few netbooks and not on all PC Hardware.

  12. Samsung Unveils Continuum On Verizon

The Samsung Continuum was announced earlier at the New York Stock Exchange, but the phone itself was just unveiled in Times Square. It will take its place beside the Galaxy S and will, at least initially, be available exclusively on Verizon Wireless. The device is similar to the Galaxy S in many ways. Its face is made from a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, making it perfect for media consumption. Additionally, the device is DLNA-compliant, so it can quickly connect with TVs and other devices with DLNA capabilities. But the most distinguishing feature of this device isn't its main display; it's a secondary, 1.8-inch, Super AMOLED display. The "ticker" display is used to display information ranging from incoming calls to status messages. It's also touch capable and, when the primary screen is being actively used, incoming messages are routed to it, so the primary activity isn't interrupted. The ticker can be activated separately from the main display using a unique grip sensor on the sides of the device. This allows users to discreetly look at relevant information without illuminating the considerably brighter main display. Disappointingly, the Continuum will ship with Android 2.1, but Samsung has assured it will be updated rapidly. The question is whether Samsung will update to Android 2.2 or go straight to 2.3 (Gingerbread). The Samsung Continuum will be available for pre-order on November 11. It will be available in stores on November 18 -- one day before the Droid Pro -- for $200 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Source CNN

  15. The Truth Behind Led TVs

Dhirajbhai just recently bought an LCD and not LED. Saved good amount of money due to the smart buyer he is. See here http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__204328 Good sound info you shared. I had been a tech freak for so many years and bought everything latest (and supposed to be the best) at earth-shattering prices. I can hardly believe today that i bought a 20Gb 5" Hard Disk for Rs 20,000 or the first multimedia kit from Creative containing a 4x CD-Rom, Sound Card at Rs 16,000. Energy of the youth i suppose. (Though don't consider me old at all, Grey Hairs of earthy wisdom after all this years). It does not make any sense to blow hard earned money behind maturing non mass market technologies and feel the pockets of manufacturers. Current 3D TVs are another example. Happy that many people got the correct idea to make a rational judgement.
  16. Comparing Android Touch Phones Under Rs. 20K

Fully agree with that. Any smart buyer has to do that particularly when you have Google as your friend. This can be one of the many source of information and not the complete data to finalise your buying decision.
  17. Which GSM Android Phone to Buy?

If one is not greatly constrained by the current handset, it makes emminent sense to wait for further 2-3 months for a prospective Android Handset Buyer. There will be even more choices, better price points and higer specs. Android OS is at a stage what we call Infection Point for Tech Products. When it happens, there is a mad rush of all manufacturers to be present there. OS is same except for some manufacturers like HTC, Samsung who add their own customisations and may charge more for that. Some early adopters are always willing to pay more. For the rest, get the best at the most attractive price and at the right time. For majority of the manufacturers, competitive pricing, offering better hardware specs is going to be the way forward to stay in Android market and increase their share.

Nice share Kamal. +1. Will help many prospective android buyers. Now a days the only word one finds before "Prospective Buyers" is Android!!

  25. The Truth Behind Led TVs

True OLED or True LED is just a theoretical debate right now. In December 2007, Sony started selling an 11" OLED TV priced at $ 2500 and now has stopped production and sale altogether. LG has EL9500 which is a 15" OLED TV which is in sale in Korea for $ 2600. Samsung and Panasonic has prototypes of 40" and 37" OLED but not available for sale. Just look at the exorbitant prices and sizes less than a typical PC Monitor for available OLED Tv. This are just technology demonstration and has no real world value for an end user as of today. And in India, none of them is available. OLED will take atleast next 5 years to mature into an affordable, mass market technology. Untill then, there is no question of a real life practical comparison between OLED and True LED. And we still don't have True LED also at each Pixel Level. Right now there is at the most 1500 LED Pixel in a typical Full HD Panel with around 2 million pixels. Differences between LCD with CFL backlit and LED Backlit is what is important right now and it is there for everyone to see and understand.
