Videocon V7500 Evolve Android 2.1 Mobile
rajanmehta replied to rajanmehta's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I am always surprised with this Chinese Rebranded ones or Cheap chinese stuff perception that many have. Whether one likes or not China is the manufacturing hub of the world today for anything and everthing. Every leading company's stuff is manufactured in China including Apple I Phone. This happens because no country on earth is able to match china as far as low cost manufacturing is concerned. Now companies have price points for their products. An Apple Iphone may cost you in excess of Rs. 40,000/-, HTC may be above Rs. 25,000/-. Does one believe that all the price one pays for top tier brands are exclusively for their quality only. Certain level of quality will always be assured for top brands but you are also playing for the brand value perception which is a subjective psycological attribute in one's mind and companies spend a great deal of money on building the brand value and ultimately recover it from the customers in terms of higher pricing. Whereas companies like Videocon and many other Indian handset manufacturers are more interested in penetrating the mass market with affordable handsets and this market is really huge. They will stick to a certain price point and try to give maximum features within that budget. So again they will opt for Chinese manufacturing which is low cost and will help them get some margin atleast than incurring a loss. Since they are sticking to a certain price point with maximum features, how can one expect product quality like top tier brands. But at the same time, product quality is acceptable to millions of people going by the success of all such Indian brands in the Indian market. Remeber G-Five was placed at 3rd place in handset sales in India in last quarter by an International market research firm. So there is a place for all this companies in Indian Market and a very huge one at that. -

Nokia ko sabne No Kar Diya He :rofl_200: -
@Dkaile The link which you are mentioning is C650 series which are all Intel Models and for which Windows XP Drivers are available. Just click on C650 series and it will show all intel models. This particular one is C650D (The same which is loading when you click Ravi's original link. See in the address bar of browser, it mentions C650D) which is AMD and for which only Windows 7 Drivers are mentioned on Toshiba.

The laptop you have chosen is a perfect one based on your requirements. This model has only Windows 7 Drivers available from Toshiba and not XP. So if you intend to install XP, there will be issues. You may get generic drivers for various devices from manufacturers for XP but still you may not get all the drivers. Chrome OS is not yet released. However it is not meant as a full fledged OS for Laptops and Desktops but targetted at Netbooks and other devices where people will use it mainly for web browsing, web based applications etc. There is no concept of local windows software installation in Chrome OS. One cannot say whether it will support your laptop's hardware as and when it is released. Ubuntu you can always install and new version of Ubuntu is releasing on 10th October 2010. I have not come across any issues for this laptop. Moreover Toshiba's products are of a certain standard and as far as quality is concerned i will put it above Acer, Dell and HP.

Suggestions regarding Low Cost, Low Power small office server - thin client setup
rajanmehta replied to hiteshkkk1's topic in General Technical Discussion
@Hitesh Received this in my mailbox. May be of some help to you in your project. Dear Business Leader, I am pleased to highlight an exciting announcement from Red Hat. Red Hat recently launched Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization for Desktops (RHEV-D). The solution would allow customers to deploy Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) on servers located in centralized datacenters - thereby bringing scalable, centralized provisioning and management of their desktop systems. Users can connect to these virtual desktops using either inexpensive thin clients or re-purposed PCs. RHEV-D delivers the promise of hosted desktops with EXCEPTIONAL USER EXPERIENCE Rich multimedia experience, including multiple monitors, HD-quality video and bi-directional audio/video for video conferences CROSS-PLATFORM SUPPORT For both Windows and Linux virtual desktops DATA SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE Eliminate the risk of data loss, and preventing inappropriate use and data leakage BUSINESS CONTINUITY AND AGILITY Defer desktop replacements, enable users to access different operating systems from the same device, ensuring uptime in the event of hardware failure or catastrophic event RHEV-D has already started gaining momentum in the market. "The ability to migrate, secure and manage end users via a single solution are key benefits of virtual desktop infrastructure, and Wyse is excited about Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization," said Param Desai, director of Virtualization Solutions Product Management at Wyse Technology. For most organizations, compelling reason for deploying a virtual desktop is the reduction of capital and maintenance expenditures when compared to a physical personal computer. Prominent areas for such savings are: CAPITAL SAVINGS VDI allows a customer to reuse its existing personal computers as dumb terminals or use thin clients which are at least $300 cheaper than an average physical desktop POWER SAVINGS Thin clients typically utilize ~15W of power against 150W for physical PC SIMPLIFIED MANAGEMENT Savings through reduced desktop visits We believe RHEV-D marks a major milestone towards delivering enterprise class integrated virtualization solution, and would help more customers to break down the barriers to virtualization adoption. Internet Explorer Market Share Dips Below 50 Per Cent
rajanmehta replied to kesav's topic in General Technical Discussion
I have tried Internet Explorer 9 Beta. It uses your graphic hardware to render pages and is quite snappy. But by the time Microsoft comes out with Release Version, Firefox and Chrome will be again miles ahead of Internet Explorer. -
Thanks Doc. I am treating my Pixi like a baby but since Vijay has a screen protector and offered me, i will apply it. Also as he is using the same, i am assuming that there will be no difference in touch screen response after applying protector.

Thanks Vijay. Very kind of you. Sent you a P.M. with my address.

Billing after termination and forced to pay
rajanmehta replied to dr madhusoodanan's topic in Reliance Communications
Feel really sorry for you that you have to go through this harassment. Actually you should have never paid them despite legal proceedings threats as this are just threats. They actually never launch any legal proceedings because of the following, -The lawyer's fees are always higher than the amounts involved which in the case of telephone bills are never more than a few thousand. -This will be a Civil Dispute and it takes years in India for a Civil Dispute to be resolved. They just engage Lawyers who usually draft and send legally threatning notices and this Lawyers are paid by the no. of notices they send. However i can understand people who do not have much knowledge of Law are always aprehensive about this legal things. Now you writing e mails to them will not work. It will get lost in their complex maze and will never lead to a resolution. I do not know what is the amount involved. If it is very substantial, approaching a Consumer Court is one option but then since you are a senior citizen, the hassles would be too much. As per Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, every Telecom Operator needs to have the following structure in place for addressing customer grievances. 1st Point of Contact-Customer Helpline. 2nd Point if the grievance is not resolved-Nodal Officer. (This are designated for each circle) 3rd Point if the grievance is not resolved at Nodal Officer.- Appellate Authority. Thereafter you can lodge complaint with TRAI also. I suggest the following course of action to you, -Make a complete set of documents including your request for termination, termination letter signed by them, subsequent bills received by you after termination, Lawyer letter, Your payment details, Receipt etc.. -Draft a detailed representation in chronoligical order which finally should say your grievance in the matter which in this case will be the amount of refund which you are asking. Send the same to Nodal Officer of Reliance Comm. for Gujarat Circle. The Contact details are, RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS GUJARAT CIRCLE NODAL OFFICER Mr.Sudhir Bhaduri, Reliance Communications Ltd, Reliance ADAG House, 100 ft. Road, Prahlad Nagar Road, Ahmedabad- 380051. Email : Rcomnodalofficer.GJ@relianceada.com Telephone No. 079-30331424 Fax No. 079-30331502 You can also personally go and meet him and give your documents and grievance. The timings are from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays, 1st & 3rd Saturday and national holidays) between 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. If this is still not resolved, following is the detail of Appellate Authority of Reliance Comm. for Gujarat Circle. Mr.Chetan Madhani,Reliance Communications Ltd, Reliance ADAG House, 100 ft. Road, Prahlad Nagar Road, Ahmedabad- 380051. Email : Rcomappellateauthority.GJ@relianceada.com Tel. No. 079-30331523 Fax No. 079-30343546 Hope you get a resolution and do post your experience. -
Tanveer this is not refurbished. In refurbished there is always some internal part or outer body change is involved. Here nothing is replaced or changed and mainly the outer surface damage is kept as it is and due to which you are getting a discount.
