One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route. No problems for the first few stops - a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well. At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a Pathan got on. Six feet four, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the conductor and said, "Pathan doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back. Conductor didn't argue with Pathan, but he wasn't happy about it. The next day the same thing happened ? Pathan got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day, and the next.. This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Pathan was taking advantage of poor conductor. Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff. By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong; what's more, he felt really good about himself. So, on the next Monday, when Pathan once again got on the bus and said, "Pathan doesn't pay!" The driver stood up, glared back at Pathan, and screamed, "And why not?" With a surprised look on his face, Pathan replied, "PATHAN HAS A DAILY PASS." Moral: Be sure... there is a problem in the first place before working hard to solve one !

What a great idea !! Why didn't anyone think of this??? The ISREALIS are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at the airports. They have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you. They see this as a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this junk about racial profiling. This method would also eliminates the costs of a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift. Case Closed ! This is so simple...that it's brilliant. I can see it now..... You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention standby passengers - we now have a seat available on flight number _____".

Got this some time back.... I do not know if the statistics are correct, but the fact is that very many of our youngsters are so getting engrossed in this "globalised world" that they are succumbing to pressures at a very young age. While India may have a young population in the next few years..... what good would it be if it is a sick young population? So read this article and ask every one to slow down and enjoy the present..... so that they can enjoy the future too!! SLOW DOWN", A MUST READ It's been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and brilliant. It's a rule. Globalized processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results.. Therefore, we have come to posses a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold x quantity of meetings and work with a slowdown scheme. At the end, this always yields better results. 1. Sweden has 2 million inhabitants. . 2. Stockholm has 500,000 people. 3. Volvo, Escania, Ericsson, Electrolux, are some of its renowned companies. Volvo even supplies NASA. The first time I was in Sweden , one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, bit cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees arrive in their car to work). The first day, I didn't say anything, neither the second or third days. One morning I asked him, "Do you have a fixed parking space? I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot." To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, don't you think that whoever gets in late will need a place closer to the door?" Imagine my face. Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe named Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart, Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week. Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fuelled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality", "life quality" or the "quality of being". French people, even though they work 35 hours per week, are more productive than Americans or British. Germans have established 28.8 hour workweeks and have seen their productivity driven up by 20%.. This slow attitude has come to the notice of USA , the pupils of the fast and "do it now" brigade. This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having a lower productivity. It means working and doing things with greater quality, productivity, perfection, with attention to detail and less stress. It means re-establishing family values, friends, free and leisure time.. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous. It means taking humans' essential values, the simplicity of living. It stands for a less coercive work environment, more happy, lighter and more productive work place where humans enjoy doing what they know best how to do. It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence. In the movie, 'Scent of a Woman', there's a scene where Al Pacino asks a girl to dance and she replies, "I can't, my boyfriend will be here any minute now". To which Al Pacino responds, "A life is lived in an instant". Then they dance the tango! Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious to live for the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists. We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in how each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans". I must Congratulate you for reading this post till the end of this message. There are many who will have stopped in the middle so as not to waste time in this "Globalized" world..

The Charlie Schulz Philosophy The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them. Just read it straight through, and you'll get the point. 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world. 2. Name the last five World Cup trophy winners. 3. Name the last five winners of the Miss World contest. 4 Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize. 5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress. 6.. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners. The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies.. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners. Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one: 1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school. 2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. 3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile. 4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!! 5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with. Easier? The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials.. the most money...or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most

Each Friday night after work, Sardar ji would fire up his outdoor grill and cook a tandoori chicken and some meat kebabs. But, all of his neighbors were strict Catholics ... And since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating chicken and meat on a Friday. The aroma from the grilled meats was causing such a problem for the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their Priest. The Priest came to visit Sardar ji and suggested that he become a Catholic. After several classes and much study, Sardar ji attended Mass... And as the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, You were born a Sikh, and raised as a Sikh, but from now, you are a Catholic." Sardar ji's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived. The wonderful aroma of tandoori chicken and meat kebabs filled the neighborhood. The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors and, as he rushed into Sardar ji's backyard, clutching a rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement. There stood Sardar ji, holding a small bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over the grilling meats and chanted: "Oye, you were born a chicken, and you were born a lamb, you were raised as a chicken and you were raised as a lamb but now onwards you are a potato and you are a tomato..

After Samsung officially announced its Galaxy Tab yesterday, Asus has revealed its plans to introduce its range of Android based EPads in India. In an interaction with Channeltimes.com, a company official revealed that the first models of the EPads would be sold in India by January 2011. The final pricing has not been finalized yet but Alex Huang, General Manager-System Business Group, Asus India expects the EPad to be priced at around Rs. 15,000-20,000. Though Huang did not divulge detailed specifications of the Android-based EPad, devices based at Computex 2010 were based on Windows 7 and Windows Embedded Compact 7. These EPads are reportedly based on the Intel Moorestown and Nvidia Tegra2 chipset, respectively. While the iPad and the Galaxy Tab are yet to be launched in India, will Asus be able to pip Apple and Samsung to bring its Tablet to India first? Let's wait and watch!

Galaxy Tab jabs iPad by showing off its 1.3megapixel front camera and 3 megapixel autofocus camera at the back. Also, video calling has been enabled in this Android tablet. If one has not used a brand that cannot be a cause of concern unless it is based on some rational points. How many different models of Mobiles you buy? Obviously you are always looking at best mix of value and features. Do you say that you will only use Nokia and nothing else.No need to worry. I Have used hundreds of AMD Systems at enterprise level also and they work very well giving you an unbeatable mix of value, features and performance. If you really have any technical point for AMD system suggested as compared to Intel at this budget, post it. Otherwise Go ahead and enjoy AMD.
-
@vikasmahajanz Well if you need a brand new system, the configuration i mentioned is a perfect fit for you based on your usage patterns mentioned. This is the most economical but at the same time high performance option. With similar specs in Intel, you will end up spending much more which is not necessary at all. Lightscribe DVD writers are same in all other respects like speed etc but with the added option of printing Image on them. It takes nearly 30-35 minutes to print image on your media after burning in Lightscribe. Image printing is in greyscale only and not in color. You need Lightscribe compatible DVD or CD media for printing images on them. This media is costlier than the normal media. Personally, i did not find much use of this. However no harm in having the feature. For pricing, it is aprrox. Rs. 150-300 more than the normal writers.

-Primary usage of the system. Say Yes or No if you are going to use the following features, Internet Browsing YES Normal Office Applications Usage YES Normal multimedia like music playing, Full HD Movie Playback etc. YES Light Gaming YES Heavy Gaming YES Video Encoding YES Graphics Rendering Like 3d Studio Max Etc. NOT NECESSARY Animation Like Maya Etc. NOT NECESSARY BUDGET CAN BE 10000/- OR LET ME KNW I CAN INCREASE NO PROBS ONLY CPU NEEDED REST ALL I HAVE ALSO WHICH DVD WRITER IS BEST ?? AND WOTS THE COST FOR BLURAY WRITERS AND I HOPE THEY SUPPORT DVD AND CD ALSO Again after putting YES or NO to all of the above, put your budget or if you have unlimited budget say so. Do you want to just upgrade the CPU in your current system or want a brand new system? If just want to upgrade the CPU, mention your Motherboard Model No. and Brand. DVD Writer i have already mentioned in the configuration given. For Blu-Ray writers, earlier one LG Model was available which is no longer on the shelf now. Pioneer BDR-205 Blu-Ray Burner Costs aprrox. Rs. 16,500-. This one supports Read and Write for DVD but only Read for CD.

1. Did not get you there by the term recycled. No. If Intel motherboards purchased from a good source are all originals. 2. No motherboard comes with separate graphic card. It is integarated display graphics which shares your main memory for graphics memory. Whether to go for Asus or Intel motherboard will depend on the processor choice, your usage pattern and budget. 3. Which processor is better depends completely on the following factors, -Your usage -Your budget Forget about the computer walla. Post the following details and i will be able to suggest a good system for you, -Primary usage of the system. Say Yes or No if you are going to use the following features, Internet Browsing Normal Office Applications Usage Normal multimedia like music playing, Full HD Movie Playback etc. Light Gaming Heavy Gaming Video Encoding Graphics Rendering Like 3d Studio Max Etc. Animation Like Maya Etc. Again after putting YES or NO to all of the above, put your budget or if you have unlimited budget say so.

Specs look good on paper! Hope this will not be that countless no. of phones dished out by Samsung and LG where features like good price point, touchscreen, good specs are rendered uselss because off, -Slow Processors -Proprietary OS so lack of application installation support.

Phew! Rs. 18,000/- Budget. Wants gaming. Well lets build a value high performance system at this price point. All prices given below are approx. As far as your Current Graphic Card is concerned, it is roughly having the same performance as ATI Radeon HD 4200 which is part of the following MSI Motherboard. So no need to put that Graphic Card in the following system. PROCESSOR AMD Athlon II X4 635 Rs. 5050 MOTHERBOARD MSI 785GM-E51 Rs. 3900 MEMORY Transcend/Kingston DDR3-1333 2 GB Rs. 2500 HARD DISK WD Caviar Blue 500GB WD5000AAKS Rs. 2050 DVD WRITER SONY OPTIARC AD-7240S-0B SATA Rs. 1250 CABINET CIRCLE ROYALE with 3 Front USB Port, 2 Audio Port,Firewire Port and Built in Card Reader Rs. 1850 KEYBOARD MOUSE Logitech Wireless Desktop MK250 Rs. 1200 GRAND TOTAL Rs. 17800 Rational: Processor: Quad Core 2.9 Ghz CPU (4 Cores) at budget price. Motherboard: Feature rich, Winner of CHIP Magazine Best Value Award. Cabinet: Only Cabinet at this price range to have all this front ports and card reader. Keyboard Mouse: Wireless Keyboard and Mouse from Logitech. Tried and tested. Why AMD? -Can you build a Quad Core CPU system at this price point in INTEL? Suggestions: Increase your budget by Rs. 2500/- if you can and go for additional 2GB RAM. It will work wonders in performance particularly if you are going to use Windows 7. For Windows XP 2 GB should suffice if you really want to stick to budget. For approx. Rs. 1200/- more you can get a 1 TB Hard Drive.

So as i understand you want to go for a totally new PC. You have not still posted the details of your graphic card whether it is PCI-x, Model No. etc. Also what is the budget you have in mind excluding Monitor Cost. (Monitor size is personal choice and can be decided later.) Wide choice PC Configs are available, but unless you zero down on budget, impossible to give suggestions.
-
LOL! Atom and Games! Don't even think about it. Post your Current PC Config. and details of your Graphic Card.

Yes. Basically 1500 to 2000 models are pureit and other competing products launched by some companies. As far as Pureit was concerned it was targetted mainly at the lowest strata of society who cannot afford products in the above 5000 range. It had a limited purpose of introducing such segment to atleast some purity of water as compared to none. Unfortunately they failed massively on the service front. Pureit has a battery which should work for 1500 liters but it actually does not. Also people had to wait for 2 months or more for battery replacement and so the whole purpose of water purifier is lost. Just do a google search for Pureit review and see the horrible experiences. Also visit mouthshut for pureit reviews. As far as Philips in concerned, their products are always of a certain quality and you are assured on that front. But the problem with Philips is that is is exiting all consumer segments in India. Already they have sold of LCD TV facility and rights to Videocon. Their share in Water Purifier segment is negligible. So you are bound to face service issues later on when they exit Water Purifiers also. It always makes sense to go for a company which specialises in Water Purifier and whose main business is water purifier. This is a product which you will use for many years and will need regular replacement parts as well as service parts. So choose from the following which are mainly into Water Purifier Business. -Kent -Aqua Guard -ION Exchange There may be others which i am not aware of but stick to companies specialising in Water Purifier Business.
-
You don't need to find out TDS Content. High TDS content will be typically in hard water which will not be the case with you since you are living at Delhi. All mineral RO Water purifiers are an overkill especially for people living in metro cities and who do not receive hard water for the following reasons, -They are costliest compared to normal water purifiers. -In the process of eliminating high mineral content from hard water they also remove healthy naturally occuring minerals in water. This natural minerals not only provide a good taste to the water but are also essential for some vital healthy functions of the body. -They are trypically extremely slow compared to other water purifying mechanisms. -It wastes a lot of water. Typically 2 to 3 litre for every litre purified. If the water you receive is not hard, don't go for Mineral RO which is also called Reverse Osmosis. Any UV Technology Water Purifier having Sediment Filter, Carbon Filter and UV Chamber is more than enough. One Model is Kent Ultra which i have personal experience as the refillable items are priced economically. You can also look for other models. Do not go for those Rs. 1500 to 2000 models launched by many companies including Hindustan Lever which work without electricity but are totally useless. Hope you got enough information for your buying decision.

Does LG 510 Cookie Zip Cdma Support Java Applications And Mobile TV?
rajanmehta posted a topic in LG
Prior to purchasing this phone, I called up LG Customer Care and asked whether this phone supports JAVA and i will be able to install Opera Mini. I was told that you cannot install Opera Mini latest version which is 5.1 but can install Ver 4.2. Now i have tried installing Opera Mini through every means possible, but the phone will not support it, -OTA Installation. Browser loads opera mini site but when you click on install, you get Unsupported Content Message. -Through copying the Opera Mini JAD and JAR files to memory card and trying to run it from there. Again the same message Unsupported Content. Also tried to install other browsers like UCWEB through both OTA and Memory Card. But same message. Called up LG Customer Care and was told to take the phone to Service Center. Gave to Service Center. The firmware was updated from the Stock Version 105 to 108 but still the problem remains the same. The Technical person at the Service Center said that he will mail the details to their HO and will get back to me in 2 days. Now the issue is whether this phone actually supports JAVA? Has anyone been able to install any JAVA Applications? Please share. It is outright cheating on LG's part once after confirming that the phone supports JAVA whereas actually it does not. Also LG mentions in their marketing material LG510 Launch which is a PDF file which you can download from www.lgmobiles.com containing specifications of this phone that it is having Gmail Client. I have not seen any Email Client on this phone. Told the same to the Service Center person and again he said he will mail his bosses about this. The update firmware basically does not improve anything except giving one option of Reliance Mobile TV when you open the R World. But here again you get the error message saying that your handset is not compatible with Reliance Mobile TV. The same feature is highlighted by LG in their marketing materials but does not work.
