    Ubuntu OS Developer Preview Now Available For Nexus Devices Source As promised, Canonical has released the developer previews of its Ubuntu smartphone and tablet OS for Nexus devices. Available now for flashing on Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi+3G), Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, the preview images can be downloaded now from Ubuntu website. There are two ways to flash these images, either you can use the method given by Canonical on the Ubuntu website, which requires access to Ubuntu or if you have a Custom recovery on your Nexus device, you can simply flash ZIP files using that. If you want to use Canonical’s method, head over here and follow the instructions. If you want to use a custom recovery, read on.   6. Thanks for the warning. My search for 2100+ mAH power bank (something like Nokia DC-16) for my S3 (or a future upgrade) at an "Irresistible" price is still "ON". Don't want to buy it at routine price because I rarely need it. I got an Ambrane 5400mAH power bank from Shopclues at 970 Rs/- . Product is of excellent quality and charges mobile very fast, although to charge the power bank itself takes time, but I guess that is standard. Sistema Shyam Teleservices To Bid For Spectrum, Shut Down Operations in 10 Circles Source NEW DELHI: CDMA operator Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL) on Thursday announced it will participate in the spectrum auction to be held next month and will close operations in 10 service areas after 30 days. "I would like to confirm our intention to participate in the upcoming spectrum auctions in March 2013....The go forward plan includes continuing with the Company's focus on its data centric-voice enabled strategy in select circles," SSTL President and CEO Vsevolod Rozanov said in a statement. The company, which provides service under MTS brand name, said it has started the process of informing its customers in 10 circles--Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, North East, Orissa and Punjab--to switch to other telecom operators of their choice. "SSTL is providing a 30 day time window to all its customers in the 10 circles to exhaust their balance and to port out to a telecom operator of their choice," it added. The closing down of SSTL's operation in 10 circles will impact around 22 lakh customers on its network. "SSTL has a customer base of over 14 million, out of which less than 15 per cent come from the impacted circles," the company said. Its spokesman declined to clarify whether the bidding would be for CDMA spectrum in the 11 circles where it has not mentioned any closing of operations.

    In addition to what KanagaDeepan posted, Xolo A1000 has Mediatek's earlier generation chipset MT6577 with an older/weaker PowerVR SGX531 GPU compared to PowerVR Series 5XT GPU in Micromax A116 Canvas HD. Karbonn S1 Titanium has Qualcomm SoC MSM8625Q which has a 5 year old year 2008 Cortex A5 Processor in quad core with adreno 203 GPU (Which is poor compared to PowerVR SGX544 in Canvas HD). In addition Canvas HD has a better display resolution of 1280×720 with a ppi of 293 compared to 960x540 with a ppi of 245 for Karbonn S1 Titanium.
  24. Bapu i did not give the logic of MTS buying CDMA spectrum on cheap. It was posted by chitsar. However if MTS does buy Aircel, do they become a GSM operator? What happens to their CDMA investments in towers, customer handsets, dongles, the whole ecosystem then?
  25. Let's hope that MTS gets a fresh breather from the supreme court & service can continue till the next auction in March. But in the worst case scenario if it does not succeed & services will stop before the next auction, I have a sensible suggestion for all MTS subscribers. Purely as a cautionary measure, just generate the port out code and keep it handy without actually porting out. Validity will be for 15 days. Upon expiry of that code, you can continue to keep generating a new code till the issue is settled finally. What has happened with Uninor Mumbai Circle yesterday is that services stopped from midnight & most users were not even aware of that because of short notice. They have lost the number/balance permanently as they can't even generate port out code now because of network closure.
