Samsung Galaxy Grand Launching in India Tomorrow Source Samsung India has confirmed it will be launching the Galaxy Grand in India tomorrow. The company is hosting a press event in Mumbai tomorrow to unveil the ‘Newest Galaxy’. However, its official Twitter handle has just posted readers to be ready for the ‘Grand’ launch along with a link from where participants can win a Galaxy Grand. So much for creating suspense. The Galaxy Grand was announced globally last month as a budget phablet and sports a 5-inch WVGA display, a 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras. It will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal user memory and a microSD card slot. Samsung also has a dual-SIM version of the Galaxy Grand but we are not sure whether it will launch that tomorrow or not. It will be interesting how Samsung prices the Galaxy Grand considering Micromax today launched the Canvas HD that comes with a quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, 5-inch 720p display and similar specs to the Galaxy Grand. It too runs on Android 4.1.2 but will be priced below Rs 15,000 once it hits shelves in the first week of February. Micromax also claims it has overtaken Samsung as India’s number one phablet seller in the third quarter of 2012 when it imported more phablets than any other company. Micromax A116 Canvas HD Announced, Packs 5-inch 720p Display, Quad Core Processor Source After the success of A110 Canvas 2 in the Indian market, Micromax has now announced another Canvas series smartphone today. Dubbed as A116 Canvas HD, the smartphone comes with 5-inch 1280x720p IPS display. The display on A116 is not the only improvement over A110, but Micromax has also packed a 1.2GHz MediaTek quad-core processor in the smartphone. The Canvas HD also comes with 8MP rear camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, dual-SIM support, 4GB of internal storage, 1GB RAM, front camera, 2100 mAh battery and the usual connectivity options. Micromax has revealed that A116 Canvas HD will go on sale starting first week of February for a price-tag under INR 15,000, but did not disclose the exact pricing.

Subsidised Yearly LPG Cap Raised To 9 Cylinders Source NEW DELHI: The government on Thursday raised the annual cap on supply of cheap cooking gas to nine cylinders from six. The new cap on cooking gas would come into effect from April 1, oil minister M Veerappa Moily said after the meeting of the Cabinet's panel on political affairs that took the decisions. As a fallout of the higher cap, the consumers would now be able to avail five cheap cylinders between September 14 last year, when the cap was imposed, and March 31 this year. This level was earlier set at three cylinders during the period.
