This Diwali, may you all be blessed with good fortune as long as Ganeshji's trunk, wealth and prosperity as big as his stomach, happiness as sweet as his ladoos and may your trouble be as small as his mouse.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan - 2 Star What a waste of 3 hours on Diwali Day! Stupid, forced & illogical story. So plasticky that Reliance Industries is thinking of appointing YRF as brand ambassadors for their products. Letdown in Music by Rehman. Hell no good saris on heroines too! Sorry Yashji. You're one of my alltime favourite but this one is a dud.

Bharti Airtel Shuts Network To SMSes From Subscribers of Aircel & Reliance Communications Source NEW DELHI: Sparks are flying ahead of Diwali in India's telecom market after the country's largest mobile phone company, Bharti Airtel, closed its network to incoming text messages from subscribers of two other operators, Aircel and Reliance Communications. Bharti Airtel executives said the company was forced to do this after the two companies started flooding its network with what they described as "free spam messages", a charge that has been vehemently denied by RCom and Aircel. "They (Aircel and RCom) are sending free SMS to our networks, which, in turn, is impacting the quality of service on our network and, therefore, the quality of service to our own customers," an Airtel spokesperson said. Aircel and RCom, in turn, allege that Airtel was resorting to pressure tactics just days before Diwali to force them to pay more towards SMS termination charges. Executives of the two companies also accused Airtel, founded by billionaire Sunil Mittal, of abusing its dominant position. "The timing of this step on the eve of Diwali reflects Bharti's blatant disregard for the interests of millions of customers and is another instance of abuse of market position by Bharti," an RCOM spokesperson said. RCom, the second-largest mobile phone operator by users offering services on both GSM and CDMA technology platforms, also slammed Bharti for "unilaterally taking this coercive action on an issue that was sub judice before Supreme Court and was also under consideration by sector regulator Trai". But, an executive close to Airtel defended the company's move saying "allowing any misuse of our (Airtel's) network would compromise the quality of service for our own customers during the festival season". Companies may take dispute to court "Bharti Airtel has asked us to sign a bilateral interconnect agreement, which says 10 paise per SMS will be charged to a non-Airtel customer. We are resisting this as the cost for our customers would go up significantly," the Aircel spokesperson said. The two companies may take the matter to court this week. The issue dates back to November 2011, when Airtel demanded that Aircel, which is majority-owned by Malaysia's Maxis, pay 10 paise for every text message terminating on its network. Subsequently, Airtel raised a bill of about 25 crore for the period from April to October 2011. In January, Airtel sent a notice asking Aircel to pay the amount by the end of that month. Aircel approached the telecom tribunal (TDSAT) claiming that the dues claimed by Airtel were "arbitrary, illegal, wrong, unilateral and without any basis". But, in September, the telecom tribunal ruled in favour of Airtel. Aircel has challenged the verdict in the Supreme Court.

Please suggest a foreign (US) CDMA Handset to be used on MTS
rajanmehta replied to thilak.kmb's topic in Handset Suggestions
There are two sell topics for Motorola Droid 3 and HTC Incredible 2 on RIMweb from reputed sellers. I guess you can use either of this phone through RUIM Card on MTS through certain specific ROMs. Confirm with sellers. Both are within your budget of $200. As far as choice of other imported SIMless CDMA phones which can be used only with programming, you will be held up after buying. AFAIK no one is offering MEID registration for MTS in your circle. Without that you won't be able to use such phone on MTS. Though you can still enquire with Kapil Agrawal as he mentioned some time back that he was trying for MTS MEID registration. -

iPhone 5, iPod touch screens unresponsive under rapid diagonal swipes, may be due to in-cell tech Source Users have begun reporting that rapid diagonal swipes of the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th generation can cause the screen to stop responding to touch input. Despite the fact that this is a rare and unusual swiping motion, it does raise concerns for developers and gamers. The behavior was noted by game developer CMA Megacorp in a post on Twitter and followed by a video from Recombu that displays the issue occurring on multiple devices including the iPhone 5, but not the iPhone 4S. Rene Ritchie at iMore tested several devices and found that the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th gen were the only ones that exhibited the problem, and that it was independent of whether they were running iOS 6.0.1 or other versions. Apple iPhone 5 Scrolling Glitch Demo VIDEO We’ve verified that the issue exists on our iPhone 5, which is running iOS 6.0.1. But, since the issue occurs on iOS 6.0 devices as well, it’s possible that this is due to Apple’s tweaks to make the iPad mini reject accidental thumb touches. But, since the input tweaks are likely in action on the iPhone 4 and 4S as well, it seems unlikely. But another common thread between these two devices is their touch screen hardware. Both of them use the brand new in-cell touch technology that combines the digitizer and touch panel and laminates them to the front glass. This is the first time years that the same exact screen has been in the newest iPod touch and newest iPhone at the same time, so it seems likely that whatever is causing the issues is due to the in-cell tech. The question at this point is whether the issue is caused by the way that iOS is reading the touch inputs from the screen or whether it’s due to the hardware itself. Obviously, software would be the best outcome, as it could then be corrected by Apple in a future release of iOS. The minor skipping or freezing issues on ultra-rapid swiping is not going to affect regular users much, if at all. For game developers, however, it definitely could be seen to be an issue. Some titles like Fruit Ninja, for instance, rely heavily on rapid diagonal swiping, and could end up frustrating users if the problem manifests itself badly enough. Apple’s iOS 6.0.1 update fixed a graphics glitch that many had been seeing which produced lines across the software’s keyboard. If this is a software issue as well, a similar fix could be incoming.

SmartQ U7 is a 7-inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Tablet With A Built-in 35-Lumen DLP Projector Source SmartQ U7 With DLP Projector in-depth Review >> http://www.androidau...-review-129709/ SmartQ Website >> http://buy.smartqme....rtq-u7-u7h.html Here is one device that will surprise you - it comes from China, it is a 7-inch tablet, but what makes it unique is a built-in 35-lumen DLP projector. The device is called the SmartQ U7 and having the ability to project 50-inch movies from your tablet, definitely puts it instantly in our wishlist. All of that comes in two versions: an 8GB one for $319 (the SmartQ U7), and a 16GB version for $399 (the SmartQ U7H). What makes the two versions different is also the processor. The cheaper 8 gig one runs on a TI OMAP 4430, the same one Motorola used on the Droid RAZR, while the 16GB one features a TI OMAP 4460, the very same processor Samsung used on the Galaxy Nexus. Best of all, both tablets come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board, which should guarantee flaw-less performance. All the rest of the specs are pretty standard, and you can find them right below, but obviously the big focus is the projector. Having it built-in means that you get a slight hump on the back of the tablet. Interestingly enough, activating it is as easy as flipping a switch. You can also press a dedicated standby button while the projector is running and that would turn off the screen, but keep the projection active. Overall, you can expect around 4 hours of projection until the battery drains out, and that sounds solid. The only other similar device we can compare the SmartQ U7 with is the Samsung Galaxy Beam, a 4-inch phone with a 15-lumen built-in projector. The difference is definitely huge when you compare the brightness of the two. 35-lumen is far from ideal, but makes for a much more discernible image in semi-dark rooms. Spec Highlights: 7 inch, 1024 X 600 pixels capacitive touchscreen 35-lumen, 854×480 DLP projector 1GB RAM Micro SD card slot, up to 32GB Android 4.1 Jelly Bean HDMI output Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 2MP front, 2MP back camera 4,800mAh battery, lasts 4 hours for projection Dimensions: 200.3×116.2×11.0~14.4mm, 360g

Help for Buying New Wifi Router
rajanmehta replied to snorlax's topic in General Technical Discussion
Between the two TP Link shortlisted, TL-WR740N has 5dbi single antenna whereas TL-WR841N has 5dbi X Dual Antenna. So coverage range theoretically should be higher for TL-WR841N. Secondly it will be better for HD Streaming etc being fully N300 compliant 2T2R MIMO. It's worth spending Rs 550 more and go for TL-WR841N.- 13 replies

Please suggest a Reliance CDMA Handset with Loud Ringtone

If you don't need a smartphone, consider Samsung smooth which is a good choice. I have given it to my aged relative a year back who has less hearing problem. He is happy. Reasonablly loud ringtone, large keypad, clear voice, sturdy build & excellent battery life. -
It's not as bad as it sounds OR you're making it out to be. In US through Google Play Store, consumer is actually paying US $230 for 16GB WiFi after taxes., i.e approx Rs 12,650. Now even if we take US $199 price as base (Though it's widely known that it's a subsidized price by google), the indian price comes to around Rs 17,453 after adding $10 for freight, Indian Customs at 15%, Indian VAT at 12.5%, Asus Profit Margin at 10% & Distributor/Retailer combined margin at 10%. The price announced in india is Rs 19,999 which is MRP. If past trends are any indication, generally on street/online prices are 7 to 10% lower than MRP. Taking it at 7% lower than MRP, it should be selling at Rs 18,599 actually. So it's priced only Rs 1,146 higher then it can be realistically priced.

Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

New In Titanium Backup: Create Flashable Zips Of All Your Apps And Data Source How many times have you gone through this: download a new ROM, backup all your apps with Titanium, reboot into recovery, perform a nandroid backup, wipe, install new ROM, boot and set up, then restore all your apps and data. Yeah, it's crazy. And it takes forever. What if you could cut that time by a solid 20 or 30 minutes? Thanks to a new feature just incorporated in Titanium Backup, you can. With the newest update to TB Pro, you can now create a flashable zip of all your apps and data. That means that you can flash all your goodies right after a new ROM and fire up a system that's ready to go right out of the box. Awesome. The newest update also brings a few smaller features as well, like the ability to upload files larger than 150 MB to Dropbox, an improved "overview of app storage use" screen, and many other fixes/enhancements. If you're a TB Pro user, the update is available now in the Store. If you root/ROM and don't use TB, there's never been a better time to check it out.- 1,081 replies
