Interest check: G-Box II Android TV Box running JellyBean
rajanmehta replied to digitalnirvana's topic in General Technical Discussion
There is easier solution for buying it at a lesser rate with FREE shipping to US and then importing individually through SNS/others instead of doing effort in group buying/ negotiation/managing buyers/collecting payments/dispatching to each individually from one point in india et all.. My two cents...Hope it's of some value! There are two products GBox I and II. The only difference between the two is G Box II has 4 USB ports + component Y/Pb/Pr Output whereas GBox 1 has 2 USB+normal RCA video. Rest everything including hardware is same. Even the latest software/ROM update is same and works on both as mentioned here >> http://androidtvbox....tware-and-roms/ The same seller has two listing of GBox I as bidding item with FREE Shipping to US >> http://www.ebay.com/...tdistro/m.html? Try bidding and see what best price one can get. There is another listing for GBox I in Buy it Now with FREE shipping to US with Make Best Offer option. Check and make an offer, one will get an idea how much less they can give it for! >> http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_4634wt_1265 Regarding the usage, none of the US only streaming services works in India. So it will be basically YouTube and other stored content on memory card/HDD's + Apps which can be used. But i see other possibility for making good use of such devices. What do most people do on Home PC's? Internet Browsing, Social Media, YouTube, Office software, Some light gaming / music / movies? And PC's are ON 24X7 using around 200-300 watt of electricity constantly. Now by attaching physical keyboard/mouse to this device one can do all that on large screen TV. This device should also require very low electricity consumption plus the added benefit of silent operation compared to noicy PC. Should also be possible to use as a downloader. Not sure if Google Chrome OS can be installed on this but if yes, that's other possibility. Some versions of linux may also work. -
Alcatel mobiles are no longer made by original alcatel. The brand is taken over by TCL which is a chinese consumer electronics giant.

[Leak] HTC Droid Incredible 2 Gets Its Own Ice Cream Sandwich ROM Based On Leaked RUU Source ROM Link >> http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1846304 Allegedly based on another leaked RUU from HTC. Readers may remember the Incredible 2 as being among devices officially slated by HTC to receive Ice Cream Sandwich "by the end of August," so this leak's timing isn't too hard to figure out. The ROM, which carries Sense 3.6 over top of Ice Cream Sandwich and software build number 7.01.605.01, is the stock HTC fair you may expect, but with a few tweaks ranging from root to removal of HTC's inconvenient app association settings.

Should try to avoid formatting / partitioning when data recovery needs to be done. That just makes the process more difficult. Try Easy Recovery Professional from Ontrack. -

Now it's revealed that both A100 & A90 has single core processors instead of the earlier news of Dual Core. Though i have a doubt that in case of A90, the second core might be disabled at kernel/rom level for better battery performance because MTK6575 is a Dual Core SOC AFAIK. A85 - Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core A100 - Qualcomm MSM7627A Single Core Adreno 200 GPU, Quadrant Score 2189 A90 - MTK6575 Single Core, PowerVR SGX 531 GPU, Quadrant Score 2543 2D 595 3D 1917 A85 theoretically should be more powerful from the other two but it's stuck officially on Android 2.2. Plus there have been many other complaints of hardware/software glitches. It was essentially a failed model. A90 has a better processor, faster PowerVR GPU and AMOLED screen as well as the ideal size of 4.3". This is a better buy for performance unless one desperately needs the 5" larger screen of A100. Yes the caveats about service support of indian brands by earlier posters is a valid concern but aren't we all taking that risk for imported handsets too because there is no warranty altogether? I know in this case the risk is minimal because the quality of most imported handsets from top brands is generally so good that minimal problems occur. For imported handsets we take the risk because we want latest and the best. For indian brands, you take the risk because you want the most possible crammed within the lowest price possible. Howsoever bad/worse their service support is, it's still there for one year.

Not a bluetooth expert at all but heard that Nokia BH-503 is good in stereo bluetooth headsets. Can't suggest any deals for it because at most places it's listed with either dealer warranty or OEM, so may be mostly fake/clones/OEM. If you forego stereo/music requirement, Samsung HM1100 is a good VFM bluetooth with Multipoint means you can connect 2 phones. Can get it from here for Rs 599 after using coupon code CCDNY >> http://www.dealsandy...ml/?city_cat=82 OR for Rs 750 from Flipkart >> http://www.flipkart....bb-bbcee6cfe690 These are all that is listed on philips website >> http://www.philips.c...N_CONSUMER=true Can't recommend a particular one as i have no exposure to any of them.- 6,376 replies

Dumb and dumber... Instead of actually catching rumour mongers and punishing them, this is what the govt does... Govt bans bulk SMSs, MMSs for 15 days across the country Source NEW DELHI: To check spread of rumours which has led to exodus of northeast people from certain states, government has banned bulk SMSs and MMSs for 15 days across the country starting Friday. "We have banned bulk SMSs and MMSs for 15 days," Union home secretary R K Singh said. The decision was taken after reports of widespread circulation of SMSs and MMSs containing misleading information about Assam violence, threats to people of northeastern origin living in other parts of the country and doctored videos. The home ministry has asked department of telecommunications to implement the order through the telecom operators. From Friday onwards, no one will be able to send more than 5 SMSs in one go and more than 20 KB of data through mobile phones during the ban period.
