Updated: Apple Sues Samsung - Apple Wins Patent Case
rajanmehta replied to sgiitk's topic in The Lounge
Galaxy Nexus ban temporarily suspended while appeals court issues decision The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit just suspended the ban on Galaxy Nexus sales at Samsung's request, pending a formal response from Apple. The court's decision to suspend (or "stay") the ban will last only until Apple can respond and the court decides whether or not the ban should be in effect throughout the rest of the patent infringement trial. If you're keeping track, that's a temporary stay of a temporary injunction, so that's a fun bit of legal procedure for a late Friday afternoon. The court declined to stay the ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1, however. In the end, this may not matter much — although Google has already pulled the Galaxy Nexus from its Play store, the company says the phone will be back on sale next week with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a software workaround for the Apple patent on unified search that triggered the ban in the first place. -
Right. 13.3" that too with DVD burner + Xp support and below 25K is rare. @aalok If you're looking for an ultra portable, check out Aci Bellisimma mentioned few post above. At 26,999 MRP that's the best spec 13.3 Ultraportable you can get with intel quad core, 128 GB SSD drive but without DVD. If you go for 14" and above, there will be many options.

Take this news with a spoon of salt... But NEWS it is! Looks somewhat believable because intel chose Karbonn for Zolo, the first Intel Atom Processor Android in the world. And Karbonn has been able to deliver it. So who knows, they may be having the capability to pull this off! Karbonn Planning To Launch Jelly Bean Tablet, Smartphone in September Source Indian manufacturer Karbonn seem to be jumping on the Jelly Bean train pretty fast. The company revealed in media interaction earlier today that it plans to release an Android 4.1 smartphone and a tablet in September this year. According to information released by the company on these upcoming Jelly Bean devices, the smartphone will be dubbed as A25 and will feature a 4.5-inch display. On the other hand, the tablet will be known as ST4 and it will have a 9.7-inch display with Gorilla Glass protection. Company has also stated that it plans to price the tablet around INR 11,000. While we are sceptical about the timeline and whether the company will be able to deliver Jelly Bean devices this fast or it is just trying to cash in the Jelly Bean hype to get some media coverage. If it is indeed able to launch the devices, it would certainly be a big feat for manufacturer, which is still trying to get in the groove of smartphone/tablet arena. Google is expected to release the Android 4.1 source code in mid-July and then only manufacturers like Karbonn will be able to get the work started on their Jelly Bean devices.

PC Bluetooth Dongle - Good Only For Keyboard/mice?
rajanmehta replied to n_iceman's topic in General Technical Discussion
I have read the following solution somewhere but can't find the link right now.. Install broadcom bluetooth software stack on PC >> http://www.broadcom....ooth/update.php Then connect Jawbone to PC though USB. I think Jawbone has some update software which is available on their website once you register and through that you can add device drivers in PC after which it should appear in bluetooth device. -

@KumaarShah Don't need to enter Chennai MCC-MNC. Any code will do. The paid version of the APK in the first post had the feature of working upon reboot without entering the code again but that's no longer available. But any country restricted app which you had already installed in the past should still be available in your my app list for fresh install through play store even if the unlocker app is not running at that point of time. I also tried the APK uploaded by Manuj Gupta but that does not work at all on my phone, even before reboot. You can try if it works for you. Else it takes hardly 20 second to re-enter the code upon reboot.- 38 replies

^ ^ ^ Galaxy S2 is available in the range of 25-26K online. Don't see any GREAT deal with a much lower price than that. Don't know whether you're aware or not but Samsung isn't selling the Galaxy S2 with ORIGINAL specs in india since many months. It has kept the model number on the box same, i.e., Samsung galaxy s2 i9100 but the internal is different from the original Galaxy S2. The current model comes with TI OMAP SOC instead of the original Exynos SOC. The graphics chip is also different. The problem is Samsung never informed anyone formally and there is nothing on the box to separate the two model. So what's different between the two models? Check these links to find out. How Samsung Is Duping Its Customers By Selling The I9100G Variant Of The Galaxy S2 In I9100 Boxes In India Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II vs Samsung I9100G Galaxy S II – know the differences Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 vs i9100G: Differences in Processing Power So if you need better performance and huge developer support then i would suggest you to go opt for the ORIGINAL spec S2. However finding the right one now a days is difficult. Few original spec S2 are on sale at Ebay but most are with dealer warranty. If i were you, i will give Galaxy Nexus and some Jelly Bean Love to your brother instead of S2 at this point in time with the same cost.- 6,376 replies

Replying To Missed Call Can Lead To Your SIM Card Being Cloned Source Next time if you get a missed call starting with +92; #90 or #09, don't show the courtesy of calling back because chances are it would lead to your SIM card being cloned. The telecom service providers are now issuing alerts to subscribers —particularly about the series mentioned above as the moment one press the call button after dialing the above number, someone at the other end will get your phone and SIM card cloned. According to reports, more than one lakh subscribers have fallen prey to this new telecom terror attack as the frequency of such calls continues to grow. Intelligence agencies have reportedly confirmed to the service providers particularly in UP West telecom division that such a racket is not only under way but the menace is growing fast. "We are sure there must be some more similar combinations that the miscreants are using to clone the handsets and all the information stored in them," an intelligence officer told TOI. General Manager (GM) BSNL, RV Verma, said the department had already issued alerts to all the broadband subscribers and now alert SMSes were being issued to other subscribers as well. As per Raks-h-i-t Tandon, an IT expert who also teaches at the police academy (UP), the crooks can use other combination of numbers as well while making a call. "It is better not to respond to calls received from unusual calling numbers," says Tandon. "At the same time one should avoid storing specifics of their bank account, ATM/ Credit/Debit card numbers and passwords in their phone memory because if one falls a prey to such crooks then the moment your cell phone or sim are cloned, the data will be available to the crooks who can withdraw amount from your bank accounts as well," warns Punit Misra; an IT expert who also owns a consultancy in Lucknow. The menace that threatens to steal the subscriber's information stored in the phone or external memory (sim, memory & data cards) has a very scary side as well. Once cloned, the culprits can well use the cloned copy to make calls to any number they wish to. This exposes the subscribers to the threat of their connection being used for terror calls. Though it will be established during the course of investigations that the cellphone has been cloned and misused elsewhere, it is sure to land the subscriber under quite some pressure till the time the fact about his or her phone being cloned and misused is established, intelligence sources said. "It usually starts with a miss call from a number starting with + 92. The moment the subscriber calls back on the miss call, his or her cell phone is cloned. In case the subscribers takes the call before it is dropped as a miss call then the caller on the other end poses as a call center executive checking the connectivity and call flow of the particular service provider. The caller then asks the subscriber to press # 09 or # 90 call back on his number to establish that the connectivity to the subscriber was seamless," says a victim who reported the matter to the BSNL office at Moradabad last week. "The moment I redialed the caller number, my account balance lost a sum of money. Thereafter, in the three days that followed every time I got my cell phone recharged, the balance would be reduced to single digits within the next few minutes," she told the BSNL officials.

In Mumbai's Kurla station a very imaginative racket by RPF personnel went on for few years before it was busted. RPF personnel would pick up passengers crossing railway tracks and bring them to a room at railway station which they said was the court. Passengers will be told that they are arrested and will be prosecuted. There was a magistrate sitting there who was actually an RPF constable. Then suggestion would be made to the terrified passenger that he can apply for bail and will have to execute bail bond running from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000. Who wants to go to jail? So the passenger will hastily pay up thanking his luck and not to return there again in the dummy court. The constable (dummy magistrate) would then pass release order. They also kept fake bail bonds. All the money were then shared between RPF personnel. This went on for about 4 years and lacs of rupees collected before the racket was busted. Even in such a case, out of 20+ people involved, railways only transferred many to other stations, very few were suspended after many months.
