  1. ^^^ Unfortunately i am not using an android handset with MTS connection.
  2. ICS/Jelly Bean for EVO 3D - Step By Step

^^^ Root the phone, do HTC Dev Unlock if you haven't already and then try again with the pointers in earlier post. Refer this topic for where to put A-Key >> http://www.rimweb.in...n-registration/
  3. ICS/Jelly Bean for EVO 3D - Step By Step

You may not be actually S-OFF and selected that option. Are you rooted? And did 4Ext Touch Recovery ask for super user permission while flashing it from phone? If So, give it. Also select Smartflash (S-On) in 4Ext Touch Recovery installer while flashing it from the phone (If your device is S-ON with HTC Dev Unlock). Also keep the data on as it downloads some files for detecting the device model during installation.
  4. I took the connection from the only MTS Official Gallery here and the recharge was done by me online on MTS Website. The calls coming from number 01401753863 are from MTS automated system which when just picked up activates VAS packs. Don't think the other vendors may have have any control over it.
  5. The Off Topic Thread

^ ^ ^ I really don't have any idea why the topic is no longer appearing here at RIMweb. Whether it was removed by OP himself or someone else. I intentionally put the TE topic link for MEID registration which was opened there on 25th May. There is even an older topic on TE by other member running since many months for Reliance MEID registration openely. >> http://www.techencla...eliance-120394/ The only point i am making is that if the topic here was removed (Whether by OP or Anyone else ) because MEID registration needs to be kept in the background OR some sort of secret, then it's a fallacy. MEID Registration is already out in the open on the web since long. It is available at places where people even don't have much interest in CDMA. Infact at some places high amounts are charged with no assurance as to reliability. >> http://www.ebay.in/i...=item1e6e41c86e Whereas we at RIMWeb which is premier portal for everything CDMA, now don't have such facility from a reliable source at cost effective rate. We should encourage such initiatives to keep the CDMA lovers returning back to RIMweb and grow the community instead of running away from such things. My two cents on the issue being a CDMA and RIMWeb lover. Sorry if anyone is offended which is never the intention here.
  6. ICS/Jelly Bean for EVO 3D - Step By Step

If the calls are getting cut off within 3-4 second of connecting / receiving, check whether A-Key parameter in put correctly in the phone which might have been wiped off during flash. If you don't have NV backup for data settings, request it from the seller of your phone.
  7. Some Clarification: Samsung Galaxy Y is not locked to MTS network whereas MTAG 401 is locked. There is no minimum monthly commitment for recharge or anything for either of the handsets. Pay as you go.
  8. The Off Topic Thread

What happenned to Kapilbhai's "Reliance MEID Registration" Topic in Sell Forum? I can't seem to find it there now! Hmmm... Let me investigate. I found a similar topic at another place here >> http://www.techencla...vations-132236/ Don't know why but the description and price gives me a sense whether Kapilbhai is there in the background? Is that correct?
  9. ICS/Jelly Bean for EVO 3D - Step By Step

You don't need to be S-OFF for flashing ICS ROM's for EVO 3D. If you're S-ON and unlocked through HTC Developer Unlock method, flashing Anthrax Kernel after ROM flashing but before reboot through 4ext Touch Recovery solves the problem of boot loops. This is a safe method as flashing this way does not mess with any phone / data programming or firmware. For restoring data settings, flash Data Dump NV items through CDMA workshop.
  10. Those details are awaited. Right. That's a valid concern. Moot point is even if they do participate in the fresh auction and retain the license, how on earth they will be able to offer the current tariffs (Which is one of the USP of MTS ) after spending those billions? No way it can be a viable business proposition for them without huge increase in tariffs. TRAI recommendations for fresh spectrum auction penalises CDMA operators with a double whammy. Approx. Half the spectrum and 1.5 times the price compared to GSM.
  11. Received a Call from MTS Number 09146001996 just now informing that my earlier complaint for Rs 30 VAS Deduction has been resolved. The moment i disconnected that call, received the following SMS without me doing anything... Your Music Unlimited Subscription has been renewed at Rs 2 Day till 27-5-2012 I fear they are going to do this on a daily basis. Solve one complaint and do another unauthorised VAS activation. They are banking on the fact that how long the customer will keep on complaining and will get tired one day.

  13. First thing i did after taking the connection was activating DND. MTS Network is quite good at my place.
  14. Rs 30 refunded by MTS after 2 more phone calls running into 10 minutes and repeating the entire thing again and again. Funnily the Customer Service guy was insisting on speaking in HINDI only. Upon asking him why then they keep the language option menu of Marathi, Hindi and English from which i had already selected English by pressing 3... He told me.. "Saar agar aap hindi me bolenge to hi hum aapki behtar seva kar sakte hai.." Meanwhile i am continuing to get phone calls from that number 01401753863.. But won't pick now..

According to the IDC, from Q1 2011 to Q1 2012, our favorite mobile OS went from owning 36% of the worldā€™s share to 59%. In that same span, iOS jumped from 18% to 23%, and the rest of the field tumbled. Blackberry dropped from 13% to 6%, Symbian from 26% to 7%, and so on. The IDC estimates that 89.9 million Android units shipped in Q1 of this year ā€“ Samsung accounted for roughly 45% of them. 16. Airtel Launches 4G LTE Broadband

Bharti And Qualcomm Announce Partnership For 4G LTE Source Bharti acquires 49% interest in Qualcomm AP's India BWA entities - Partnership to roll-out state-of-the-art 4G networks on LTE TDD technology in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala NEW DELHI and SAN DIEGO, May 24, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Bharti Airtel Limited ("Bharti"), a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, and Qualcomm Incorporated, the world leader in 3G and next-generation mobile technologies, today announced that they have signed an agreement for Bharti to acquire an interest in Qualcomm Asia Pacific's (Qualcomm AP) Indian BWA entities. Under the agreement, Bharti has made an initial investment of approximately USD 165 million to acquire 49 percent interest in Qualcomm AP's India entities that hold BWA licenses in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala - partly by way of acquisition of 26 percent equity interest equally held by Global Holding Corporation Private Limited and Tulip Telecom Limited, and the balance by way of subscription of fresh equity in those entities. The agreement contemplates that once commercial operations are launched, subject to certain terms and conditions, Bharti would assume complete ownership and financial responsibility for the BWA entities by the end of 2014. Bharti already has BWA licenses in four circles - Kolkata, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra - and 3G licenses in thirteen circles in India. With this agreement, Bharti has secured a nation-wide broadband leadership through a combination of 4G and 3G, with its own networks in 18 circles. Bharti has already taken the lead in LTE TDD space by launching 4G services in Kolkata and Karnataka Circles. Commenting on the partnership Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Airtel said, "We are delighted to partner with Qualcomm, who shares our commitment to the Government's agenda of broadband for all. This partnership will combine the strength of Bharti's national telecom footprint and Qualcomm's technological leadership in the LTE TDD space. With a broadband ready network across India, Bharti is well positioned to lead the next phase of Indian's telecom revolution." "One of our key objectives has been to include a strong partner in the Indian venture with the scale, experience and resources to deploy LTE TDD networks. We are pleased to have Bharti's participation and support in this effort," said Dr Paul E Jacobs, chairman and CEO of Qualcomm. "GHC and Tulip have been great partners in facilitating this transaction. Qualcomm remains dedicated to the continued progress and success of the BWA venture and to fulfilling our commitment as a key equity stakeholder." Qualcomm expects to provide technical assistance to Bharti in connection with network architecture and optimization, infrastructure and device testing, as well as continuing to develop and support the underlying technology and the LTE TDD ecosystem.

  20. MP, Chhattisgarh's New Year To Begin With 4G LTE Broadband Services Source Consumers in MP and Chhattisgarh can expect 4G services form Augere Wireless Broadband India to cost about as much as 3G data services does. Consumers in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh after experiencing 3G are one step closer to experience the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications through TD-LTE technology, which will enhance the user's experience of wireless broadband including web, online gaming, video streaming and social networking even while on the move. Augere Wireless Broadband India, a wireless broadband company which had bagged BWA spectrum in MP and Chhattisgarh, will offer 4G broadband services under the ZOOSH brand to residential and business customers in Bhopal in January and by April it will offer the services in 14 cities of the two states. Lars Stork, chief executive officer, Augere Wireless Broandband India, said to The Mobile Indian, "Consumers in MP and Chhattisgarh can expect our services to be priced nearby what they pay for 3G data services." It will be interesting to see what Reliance Industries, the only player that bagged a pan India BWA spectrum licence, will offer in terms of data plans because that will be the trend setter in this space. Other winners of BWA spectrum include Aircel (8 circles), Tikona Wireless (5 circles), Airtel (4 circles) and Qualcomm (4 circles). Regarding data plans, Stork said, "We will not be offering unlimited data plans as we have seen instances where it has been misused, which leads to loss of revenue." Stork further said, "We are excited by the development happening in the tablet space in India, especially the recently launched affordable Aakash tablet. We are in talks with tablet manufactures to offer our services bundled with their devices along with stand-alone services through dongles." Vijay Jain, chief technical officer, Augere, said, "For bundled services, we are looking at devices from multinational as well as Indian players. If we get a good response, we would prefer Indian players simply for the price point they offer." To kick start its 4G services on Tuesday, Augere Wireless contracted Swedish telecom company Ericsson for three years to supply and maintain telecom equipment for its proposed 4G services. . To ensure optimal network performance Ericsson will also be responsible for providing managed services and network operations for three years. Ericsson will plan, design, build, operate, maintain and provide spare-parts management for the 4G network for Augere. Augere is already offering WiMax services under the Qubee brand in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
  21. Android Updates For Your Phone

HTC Posts Android 4.0 Update Timeline, Expects To Finish Upgrades By August Source HTC Android 4 Official Blog Announcement >> http://www.htc.com/w...id=android4blog Wondering when your HTC Android device is going to receive its update to Android 4.0? Then you'll be glad to hear that HTC has provided a timeline showing approximately when it expects each of its Ice Cream Sandwich-upgradable phones to be bumped up to Google's latest dessert. HTC says that the majority of its devices will be updated in June and July 2012 and that it plans to finish updating its announced devices by August. Here's how the list breaks down: Amaze 4G: May-June Desire S: June-July Desire HD: July-August DROID Incredible 2: To be determined, but coming by the end of August EVO 3D: June-July EVO 4G+: May-June EVO Design 4G: June-July Incredible S: June-July Sensation: March-June Sensation 4G: March-June Sensation XE: March-June Sensation XL: April-June Rezound: June-July Rhyme: June-July ThunderBolt: July-August Velocity 4G: March-June Vivid: March-June HTC notes that things like the testing and approval process can take some time, so owners of these devices should keep in mind that rollouts can take up to 45 days from the start of the push to reach everyone. The manufacturer also confirms a handful of devices (like the Wildfire S) that won't be updated to Android 4.0, explaining that devices with 512MB of RAM or less generally won't be upgraded. Tablets like the Flyer, EVO View 4G and Jetstream will also remain Ice Cream Sandwich-less.
  22. ^ ^ ^ I really can't believe a smart person like you fall for it and actually tried to order. I can already see the reason. The problem OR should i say good thing here at RIMweb is that TRUST factor among members is quite high. So people believe. Moral of the story is that something like this which was intended for FUN purpose should not be posted here in buying topics to avoid a probable tragic consequence.
  23. Augere Wireless Set To Sell its 4G Spectrum, Quit India Source NEW DELHI: Augere Wireless, a company backed by France Telecom and private equity funds, is set to sell its 4G spectrum in two states and quit India, as regulatory uncertainty has forced its investors to hang up on the country. Two company executives said Augere was shutting down its India operations and had asked its employees in the country to resign. Augere is the second 4G spectrum holder that is close to exiting the wireless broadband space. US-based chipmaker Qualcomm is learnt to be in advanced talks with Bharti Airtel to sell its 4G permits in the four circles where it bagged airwaves in 2010. The company had won airwaves for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the keenly-contested broadband wireless auctions of 2010 and last year became the first 4G player in India to award an equipment contract when it appointed Ericsson to roll out its network. It had also roped in TCS to handle its IT and customer services requirements and was slated to roll out wireless broadband services in the second half of the current year under the 'ZOOSH Broadband' brand. Augere Wireless CEO Lars Henrick Stork said the company had stopped all operational activities in India and had asked employees to go on leave as it was reassessing its plans here. He blamed the regulatory uncertainties surrounding India's telecoms sector and said it had resulted in the company 'being unable to raise funds from both national and international investors'. "There is a lot of uncertainty hanging over the telecoms sector in India. The cancellation of licences by the Supreme Court, Trai's rules for re-auction and the exorbitantly high reserve price, as well as lack of clarity on the new telecoms policy, which was supposed to be unveiled by mid-last year and has not happened yet... all these factors have resulted in our investors stopping funding for our activities here," Stork said in a phone conversation with ET. Augere's investors include former Orange CEO Sanjiv Ahuja, Harbinger Capital, France Telecom, New Silk Route and Vedanta Opportunity Fund. The company also offers its services in Asia and Africa under the Qubee brand. Augere will become the first telecom company to cite funds crunch arising from lack of regulatory clarity as the reason for exiting India. Both Telenor and Sistema have threatened to pull the plug on India and warned that they will not participate in the upcoming spectrum auctions if the government accepts the recommendations of the telecom regulator. But, unlike these companies, Augere has not lost its licences, and is not required to participate in any auction. Several industry executives said Augere had approached leading Indian mobile phone companies to sell its 4G licence, but Stork declined to comment on this and said 'it was a shareholders' issue'. "When you stop operations, it is natural that people will say we want to sell. We will take 4-6 weeks to reconsider our India plans," he added. Augere had paid about Rs 125 crore for its 4G permit in 2010. In October 2011, the company announced that it would invest about Rs 270 crore over the next three to five years to roll out services in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It had also announced that it would initially launch services in 14 cities in these two states, beginning April 1, 2012. Augere had also reportedly completed the pilot runs for its 4G foray in September 2011. "It is a shame. We had given out contracts and were ready to go. But with funding drying up, we had to stop," Stork added.
  24. Karbonn A9 Dual SIM Android With 1 Ghz Processor

OK. Some further leads... As per the following system info screen shots, this phone seems to have Qualcomm MSM 7627A Chipset with Arm Cortex A9 processor alongwith Qualcomm Adreno 200 Graphic Processing Unit. If i have to believe Flipkart specs then Samsung Galaxy Ace as well as Dell Venue both have Adreno 200 GPU. Samsung Galaxy Ace Dell Venue So for the price and specs, Karbonn A9 does look promising and VFM initially.
