New ICS ROM For EVO 3D. Hmmm... I do like Ice Cream. This one is a beauty. It has HTC Sense 4 in all it's glory and Ice Cream Sandwich 4.03. ROM in first post does not have HTC Sense 4. Now i don't need to tell you that we are not going to get Sense 4 when we get Official ICS on EVO 3D. This ROM is a port of HTC Ville, i.e HTC One S. Heck why do we need to spend all the money in buying HTC One series phones when we can enjoy it right away without dropping a penny. Steps for flashing this ROM remain the same as in post 1, except replace the ROM with this one. Disney's 'Touché' Capacitive Touch Sensors Detect Gestures On Flesh, Furniture, or Water Source Disney Research, which previously came up with the SideBySide wall-based gaming concept, is back with what looks like a fairly sophisticated touch-sensing technology. The system, called Touché, works by detecting a range of frequencies at the same time, rather than one frequency as on simple capacitive screens. Using this range, the sensors can detect not only multitouch gestures on ordinary screens, but also distinguish between different objects or parts of the body or add touch to nontraditional surfaces, like liquids. The demo video below is fairly impressive: it shows the wide range of gestures that the sensors can pick up (including grasping hands together and submerging your palm underwater.) Disney hasn't said what it plans to do with the technology besides outlining a goal of creating invisible or "disappearing" computing, but the video shows a few possible examples, like controlling a music player with tapping gestures. Be sure to check out 2:55, in which you can teach your child to eat cereal with a liquid sensor and alarming noises, or read the science behind the system in this PDF.

Is some upgrade going on? Noticed few glitches today.. Forums and Members Tab are appearing twice. Instead of actual username of member browsing the topic, it's showing <<<, <<< and 0 users. 2 members (Not anonymous) were actually browsing the topic. Earlier guest users were also able to click on reputation point and a pop up would appear showing names of member giving reputation point. Now when registered member even after logging in clicks on reputation point score in a post, nothing happens. It's not possible to see which member gave it. Hitachi claims a more moderate 30% power saving for inverter ac as compared to 50% claimed by panasonic. Both are in comparison to a 5 Star rated ac. There is no dispute on whether inverter ac will save power, question is how much? Let's assume the lower 30% energy saving rate for our calculation. I could find the following online prices for Daikin A/c's.. Daikin 1.5 ton invertor split ac Rs 44,700 Daikin 1.5 ton 5 Star Split ac Rs 42,200 Daikin 1.5 ton 3 Star Split ac Rs 34,750 Let's assume a 1500 watt power input for a 1.5 ton 5 star split a/c (Typical). That comes to 1.5 Unit per hour of operation. Hp's usage is 8 hours a day for 6 month a year. Assuming Rs 7 Per unit rate in Maharashtra, the energy cost per month comes to Rs 2,520. With 30% saving in inverter ac, it will be Rs 1,764. So a saving of Rs 756 per month. Incremental cost of Daikin invertor ac compared to 5 star is Rs 2,500. So the payback period is approx 3.3 months after which savings actually start. Further assuming DK's cost of Hitachi 1.5 ton 5 Star at 34K and HP's Panasonic invertor 1.5 ton at 45K, the difference is Rs 11,000. Payback period for an inverter ac in this case for HP's usage should Rs 11,000 / Rs 756 = 14.5 Months after which actual savings start. Since ac's are used for atleast 5 year by normal people, prima facie, inverter ac does make sense and should save good amount of energy cost. HP, calculate the above figures with actual price of models you are considering and you have the answer.
