  6. Depends really on your need. If convenience of 3G Dual SIM android is a must for taking benefit of tariff plans or other reasons, then there is no other handset in the market at the moment which is as VFM + having all features as Mi 280. If Dual SIM is not needed, then the comparison is like this, Mi280 has a dedicated GPU. Galaxy Y lacks any GPU. Galaxy Y has 832 Mhz ARM V6 processor whereas Mi 280 has 650 Mhz. Y looks better on paper in this regard but won't make a great difference in day to day use. Plus Mi280 will make up with it's GPU. Y has 1200 mAh battery compared to 1000 mAh of Mi 280. Y will have better battery life due to higher battery + Single SIM. If you'll use only Single SIM in Mi 280, battery life will be improved. Still Mi 280 battery life will be poor in comparison. Both has 240 x 320 resolution. User memory also similar. Rest all mostly same. Samsung is expected to have better component + build quality + service support compared to spice. But understand the difference in quality for such budget devices compared to Spice won't be so huge as compared to higher priced models. Samsung too is working within a budget and can't give you quality comparable to S II. Hope now you're able to make the judgement yourself for your question: Whether you want to spend 1,500 more or not?
  7. ^ ^ ^ Spice Mi 270 is available at Rs 3,079 here >> http://deals.sulekha...or-just-rs-6266 But it's worth spending Rs 1,500 more and get Mi 280 considering the huge difference in specs IMHO.
  8. Spice Mi 280 Dual SIM Android at Rs 4,538 >> http://deals.sulekha...ice-mi280-10021 Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Dual SIM(3G+2G), 650 MHz Processor + GPU, 7.0 cm Capacitive Touch Screen, Video Calling, HSPA, 3.2 MP(rear) Camera +VGA(front)camera, Wi-Fi, Tethering, GPS/AGPS, Proximity Sensor, Android Market, 1000 mAh battery Except for lower 1000mAh battery, it's got everything for a budget android. May be buy and keep 1-2 extra batteries. No other Dual SIM android in this price range with such specs.
  9. @dkaile I think it's not a deal of the week item. So you could have got it for Rs 7,029 from Ebay by using 5% Discount Codes from here >> http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__254875
  10. Lets Ask Arun

It may not be strictly necessary in this case because the domain name is registered in the name of RIMweb which is a widely known and popular website. That should be enough for Ebay.
  11. Lets Ask Arun

Can't we report to Ebay for locking / taking down the seller for using the name?
  12. Lets Ask Arun

Arun, Someone is using (OR rather misusing? ) RIMweb's name for selling imported CDMA Phones on Ebay P.S. Did not knew where to put this, so mentioned here.
  13. Life of a Eunuch

Eunuchs in India Eunuchs in India are a very secretive community, highly shrouded in mystery. There are almost 19 lakh eunuchs or ‘hijras’ who live marginalised lives as outcastes, abused and disliked by one and all. Even the government has not been able to provide any assistance, since their problems have not been properly represented. Most Indians do not even consider hijras as human beings. For them, they are ‘diabolical creatures’, a source of eternal disgust and perennial fear. There are a lot of questions about them that beg an answer, such as: Who are eunuchs? Are they born or made? How are they different from the rest of us? Where and how does this highly secretive community live? What are their customs and rituals? How are they cremated/buried upon death? Are they really sexual deviants as is commonly believed? Are they really a ‘criminal’ community? Can they be surgically transformed into a normal male or female? What is it like to be a eunuch? For the first time, the answers to all these questions and many more are available in the form of a thoroughly researched and well-documented book, ‘Life Of A Eunuch’. The book consists of 540 pages, packed with never before published material about eunuchs, including exclusive photographs of the anatomy of eunuchs. Life of a Eunuch. Download Full Book From Here >> http://www.sooe.org.in/book/Life-Of-A-Eunuch-All-Pages.pdf Critically Acclaimed Docudrama, ‘…Aur Neha Nahin Bik Payee’, featuring actual events and a cast of real eunuchs, for the first time in the history of Indian cinema. Watch it on YouTube The movie and the book have been subsidised by Salvation Of Oppressed Eunuchs (SOOE), a registered Non-Profit Organisation working for the betterment and welfare of eunuchs >> http://www.sooe.org.in/index.html
  14. This is interesting. Just an inadvertent error OR something more than meets the eye? Papers on Supreme Court Order Created Confusion Source A paper was circulated two hours before the release of the official judgment copy Mystery still shrouds over the circulation of a document purported to be the judgment of the Supreme Court in the 2G spectrum case delivered by a two-judge bench last Thursday. The document was circulated about two hours prior to the release of the official copy of the judgment, but it differed from the official copy, confusing those who anxiously followed the developments. According to the official copy of the judgment uploaded about 5 pm that day, the SC direction quashing 122 licences shall become operative after four months. It further says that keeping in view the decision taken by the Central government in 2011, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India “shall make fresh recommendations for grant of licence and allocation of spectrum in the 2G band in 22 service areas by auction, as was done for allocation of spectrum in 3G band.” No deadline was set by for this operation by the bench consisting of Justice G S Singhvi and Justice A K Ganguly (now retired). However, the early-bird document circulated to the media and the government around 3 pm stated that the operation should be done by Trai within two months. According to this document, “within two months, Trai shall make fresh recommendations for grant of licence and allocation of spectrum in 2G band areas through auction as was done for allocation of spectrum in 3G band.” It added that the Central government should decide on these recommendations “within the next one month.” The official copy of the judgment on the Supreme Court website does not carry this direction. This had confused the media, which went by the first document setting the deadline. Some of them later corrected their version after reading the authoritative copy. Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal also spoke at a press conference in the afternoon even before the official copy was uploaded on the Supreme Court website. Trai officials also reacted to the judgment before reading the official version, creating confusion of ideas. There were other discrepancies too. The official copy said those whose licences were cancelled shall deposit “within four months, 50 per cent of the cost with the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee to be used to provide legal aid to poor and indigent litigants. The remaining 50 per cent cost shall be deposited in the funds created for Resettlement and Welfare Schemes of the defence ministry.” On the other hand, the document given out by the petitioner’s office, Centre for Public Interest Litigation led by lawyer Prashant Bhushan, said that the cost imposed on the erring telecom firms should be deposited elsewhere. Its version was that 50 per cent of the cost shall be deposited with the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee to be used for providing legal aid to indigent litigants. The remaining 50 per cent cost shall be deposited in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.” Another mystery is that the unofficial copy did not carry the date of the judgment. The official one follows the norm and puts the date as February 02, 2012. Moreover, the unofficial document circulated earlier had only 74 numbered paragraphs while the official version had 81 numbered paragraphs. Old timers are not shocked by these shenanigans occurring in high-voltage cases. Copies of judgments have popped up in the law ministry and official press briefings even before the court released its official version. The difference this time is that the two versions do not tally in all respects.
  15. ^ ^ ^ I also posted deals from TIMTARA earlier but after investigation realised that, It regularly comes up with such 1,000, 2,000, 3,500 Off on various categories to lure people. It is the worst Online Selling site in India. Search and see hundreds and thousands frustated customer stories It delivers products very LATE. Most of the time beyond a month. Your money is stuck + STRESS of whether you'll get it at ALL is a bonus. During this time, there is NO Customer Support. Expect none of your mails, calls to be answered. If you calculate their discounted prices with other good deals from reputed sites, usually there won't be a huge difference. All the hassle is not worth for a few hundred bucks IMHO. Have a look at their irate customer comments on their Facebook Page >> http://www.facebook.com/timtara?sk=wall Just wanted everyone to be aware before taking the RISK.

  22. ^ ^ ^ AFAIK Idea is operational in Maharashtra with it's own very old license, not through the additional Maharashtra license of Spice which was issued in 2008. Spice was acquired by Idea. Idea in Maharashtra circle should not be affected by Supreme Court order cancelling 2008 licenses.
  23. Motorola Photon - SMS Received Many Times

This is most probably not a handset issue. If one searches Motorola support forums, the same issue is there with many other Motorola handsets too. And google search shows the same issue with other handset brands across many different networks and countries. One plausible cause for this is that the handset is within the range of two mobile towers and switches alternatively between them. Now when an SMS is sent, a control flag received from the tower tells the handset that SMS is received. For whatever reasons, in two tower scenario, the handset does not receive the control flag and that's why it thinks SMS is not sent and keeps on sending it multiple times. @Maulik Are you facing the issue at all locations OR from a particular location only? Check with other location. If you don't face the issue in all locations , then the above explanation holds good.
  24. The Off Topic Thread

Google search is mighty efficient and fast in indexing. For example see this topic on RIMweb which was created at 5.25 PM today >> http://www.rimweb.in...ved-many-times/ Now when i am typing "motorola photon multiple sms issue" in google search, it is the top and first result at 11.53 PM >> http://www.google.co...iw=1360&bih=677 Google might have indexed it even earlier. I came to know now. Google has really changed the world... For better.
