Gameloft To Slash Prices on All Android Market Games To 99c From Thursday Source Sale runs for seven days. See Gameloft Titles Here >> https://market.andro...&start=0&num=12 Following its 99c sale announced on games for Apple devices prior to the eight day Holiday season iTunes shutdown, Gameloft has now turned its attention to Android. Labeled its "biggest New Year's sale to have ever hit the Android Market", the French publisher will cut the prices on all its paid Android titles to 99c, or local equivalent. Some of popular Gameloft titles include N.O.V.A. 2 HD, Assassin’s Creed, Asphalt HD, and Order & Chaos Online. Starting Thursday 29th December at 10am Pacific time (6pm GMT) and running for a week, all Gameloft's Android Market releases will be thus reduced, with the exception of the recently released Modern Combat 3 - although this will be on sale for one day.
  2. Dhirubhai Ambani's Family Drama Ends With Dandiya As Mukesh, Anil, Nita and Tina Ambani Shake A Leg Source Happy families are all alike, every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. -Leo Tolstoy JUNAGADH: The Ambanis resembled every other happy family a day before patriarch Dhirubhai Ambani's 80th birth anniversary, as they congregated at his birthplace and appeared at ease, eating and praying together, and in a scene unimaginable not so long ago, even dancing with each other at the local temple. After prayers at the local Chorwadi Bhawani temple, Mukesh and Anil joined their wives, mother Kokilaben, sister Nina, their children and other family members, all beaming and dressed up, to dance to the beats of Gujarati dance forms dandiya and sanedo. The spirited dandiya between Nita Ambani and Tina Ambani, the general bonhomie, Anil's vigorous steps, Mukesh's characteristically shy but happy dandiya steps, the happy vibes between the generations, all seemed too true to be forced. The divided Ambani family doesn't appear so divided anymore. The images of the estranged brothers talking to each other, their wives dancing and families mingling will reinforce perceptions that the two, prodded by their mother, have put a line under one of India's most high-profile sibling rivalries and set the stage for greater cooperation. Anil Group's Shares Reflect Mood Shares in some Anil Ambani group companies reflected that optimism, rising in a weak market. Flagship Reliance Communications ended 5% higher while Reliance Media Works closed 3% up. The stage for the tectonic shift in perceptions about India's first business family was set by matriarch Kokilaben's dramatic intervention on Monday with her declaration "There is love between the brothers... We are all united". As markets and business pundits parsed her comments, the entire Ambani family reached Chorwad, a small coastal village 420 kilometres from Ahmedabad, and immersed itself in a series of mostly closeddoor family engagements. The family is here to celebrate Dhirubhai Ambani's birthday on Wednesday, and inaugurate a memorial built for him at the housing compound where he was born in 1932. He built Reliance Industries into India's most valuable private company during his lifetime. The bonhomie that was on display on Tuesday night appears to have been the fruit of years of struggle by Kokilaben to keep her family together. Mukesh and Anil were consumed by a bitter and longstanding rivalry not so long ago, and were known for the extent to which the billionaires would go to avoid running into each other. Their mother has been working hard behind the scenes to end the acrimony and bring the brothers closer. One of her initiatives has been to ask her sons to have lunch with her at home every Sunday. Kokilaben confirmed to ET on Monday that the brothers have been lunching with her for weeks now.
  3. Cheaper Phones In UK

Yes everything is costly in UK, compared to India. How much does a hair cut cost there? And what can be done about it? Indians will go to the last corner of earth, earn in foreign currency, but would like to spend only as much as they did in India!!! One of my relative who has settled in US since last 20 years still packs his bags with clothes, spices, snacks and other miscellaneous indian stuff whenever he visits India. Upon pricking him, he sheepishly announces that everything he is taking is available there in abundance but costly.. No Offence. Just a light hearted observation. Get the phones from India if someone is coming across / courier, or from US.

Toyota launches world's most fuel efficient Hybrid >> http://www.hindustan...le1-787456.aspx It's launching this in Japan with a starting price of 1.69 million yen ($21,600) about Rs 11,44,000. Question is why can't it think of selling this in India for a fair price? Can be a runaway hit.
  5. Someone was telling me similar things some time back. I am not sure whether Airtel's reasoning of technical problem is true or not. But the probable reason could be that even after port out, the number technically remains in the alloted number quota of previous operator as per DOT rules. Switching from PrePaid to Postpaid is considered a new connection by most operators. So technically it may be that the current operator cannot allot a number which belongs to the other operator in Prepaid to Postpaid conversion in port in scenario. I came across somewhat similar incident wherein the person ported out from Airtel Postpaid to Vodafone Prepaid. Vodafone De-Activated the number one month later saying the documents are not in order. Actually all the documents were in order but then Vodafone finally could not again re-activate the number saying once a ported in number is de-activated, it goes back to the quota of the original operator and said that only Airtel can issue that number again if it is still free and available. You can try two things, Lodge a complaint with Airtel Nodal Office to see whether they can solve your issue. Lodge a complaint with PGPORTAL >> http://www.rimweb.in...nts-resolution/ If either of the above does not work, then the only alternative will be to port out again to idea, then convert the number to postpaid while you are with idea and again port back to Airtel. Also confirm with IDEA first whether they will convert your number to postpaid upon porting in and in how much time. (Don't tell them your plans to port out again to Airtel in advance!!)

  11. TDSAT Restrains DoT from Banning 3G Roaming Pacts of Telcos New Delhi, Dec 24 (PTI) Telecom tribunal TDSAT today restrained the government from banning 3G inter-circle roaming (ICR) pacts among service providers and directed DoT not to take any "coercive steps" against them till next date of hearing on January 3. The sectoral tribunal issued notice to the Department of Telecom, asking it to file a reply by December 31. It asked the telecom operators - Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices and Aircel - to file rejoinder over DoT' reply within three days. They also have to submit their 3G ICR agreements to TDSAT. "Till the next date fixed (January 3), the respondent (DoT) is restrained from taking any coercive steps against petitioners (telecom companies) to enforce the impugned order dated December 23, 2011," said the TDSAT in its order. The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal also turned down the plea of DoT to restrain the operators from adding new 3G customers till the next hearing. The tribunal has directed to put the matter up for framing of issues on February 2. TDSAT's order followed a special hearing over a batch of petitions filed by Bharti, Vodafone and Idea. The tribunal also allowed two other operators Aircel and Tata Tele to become party to the case. Yesterday, DoT had issued notices to the telecom firms saying their 3G roaming pacts are illegal and sought their response within a day. Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Vodafone, submitted that the operators hold Unified Access Services Licence (UASL) which allows them to offer all types of services including voice, data and video. "There is no other licence required by any operators for providing any type of access service including any high speed data service (3G)," said Singhvi, adding that UASL also allows them to enter into roaming agreements with other operators

Initially, Lava Mobiles was supposed to launch the Android tablet in December. Explaining the reason behind the delay, Sunil Raina, chief marketing officer for Lava Mobiles, said, "We wanted to launch a quality product in the market and didn't want to hurry. As a result, our research and development team took a bit longer to give the final shape to the tablet."

  24. Android-Number 1 Smartphone Platform Now

Android Overtakes Symbian To Become Top Smartphone OS in India Source Google’s Android operating system has taken over Symbian to become the top smartphone OS in the Indian market, stated IDC’s India Mobile Phone Tracker Report for Q3 CY2011. The report also added that Android represented 42.4% of the smartphone market in the last quarter and saw a growth of 90% over the previous quarter. IDC’s India Mobile Phone Tracker Report, which was released earlier today, had interesting bits of information. This is for the first time that we are hearing from one of the market research firms that Android has gained such a significant share in the country; however it needs to be kept in mind that it is only significant number for the smartphone market, not for the total mobile market in India, as smartphones only hold 6.5% of the Q3 volume shipments. In total, Indian mobile market grew 12% in terms of unit shipments in the last quarter to reach 47.7 million units. Nokia still leads total mobile as well as smartphone market in the country, followed Samsung in both. Samsung was able to increase the smartphone shipments by 5% during this time, and we expect Galaxy S II launch in the same period did help a lot in this. Samsung held 26% of the smartphone shipments, details for other manufacturers were not revealed in the press release.
