Complete Siri Experience Only Possible On The iPhone 4S Because of A Tweaked Proximity Sensor Source There is one small tweak in the building of the iPhone 4S, though, that might be the culprit why Siri would only work the way it is supposed to on Apple's latest handset. It is... hold on... the proximity sensor. iFixit, when taking the phone apart, noticed that little infrared sensor box was different that what we had before. That in itself is not the reason for Siri's performance, but a software change is seemingly forcing it to always light up when the screen is turned on, instead of only when a call is coming, as in other handsets. The sensor is used to measure the distance to your face when the screen is on, and thus determine whether to get Siri ready and waiting for your every word, says iFixit: "The 4S, however, has a neurotic tendency of always wondering how close your face is. As long as the screen is activated, that IR sensor will be shining brightly". Here is a video from iFixit below, explaining the iPhone 4S proximity sensor deal with Siri.

HTC Edge To Lead The Smartphone Pack With Optically-Laminated Display And Unibody Design Source Renders of the HTC Edge appeared online with some hugely impressive specifications that included a quad-core 1.5GHz NVIDIA processor. We have received some more details on the HTC Edge, and they are flat out jaw-dropping. In fact, this phone looks like it will be the most powerful smartphone the world has ever seen, packed to the brim with cutting-edge tech. Actually, cutting-edge specs and a super slim profile are likely two of the reasons HTC is calling this phone the Edge. Starting with the display, we have been told the HTC Edge will feature a 4.7-inch 720p HD S-LCD 2 with optical lamination. Translation: this could possibly be one of the best displays in the world; just imagine the iPhone’s display blown up to 4.7 inches. The unibody design of the HTC Edge will be around 8.8mm thin and it will house 32GB of built-in storage, 1GB of RAM, a microSIM card slot and an 8-megapixel camera with backside-illumination and 1080p HD video capture support. This super smartphone will also feature a 720p front-facing camera, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an 1,800 mAh battery and NFC, though it will omit a removable storage slot.

Very Happy Eid to All. Peace, prosperity and kindness be among you all. A Humble Request to Celebrate it without slaughtering animals. Violence and killing brings no joy to anyone. Prophets message of sacrifice was different and much more noble than what's in practice in today's times . May be one can distributte the money used to buy animals among poor brothers of the community. He will be more than happy for that.

Capta is a Multipurpose Phone-Neutral Accessory That Works As a Tripod Mount and a Kick Stand Source More Details, Back The Project Here >> http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1689824368/capta-stick-it-lean-it-wrap-it-attach-it Now, here's probably the most exciting Kickstarter project we've ever seen – Capta. What hides behind this name is a tiny little gadget that looks like the multipurpose wonder of accessories – a universal tripod mount, a stand and an accessory to attach your phone in your car and use it as a GPS. Just as you would guess from the name, this device allows you to better capture pictures on your cell phone. What makes it unique, though, is that it's not limited just to the iPhone 4S or any other phone for that matter so unlike most other accessories that you'd have to throw away whenever a newer device arrives, Capta is different with its promise of longevity. It's also easily pocketable and made out of stylish anodized aluminum which is also practical as its pretty resistant to scratches. The real magic however is in the proprietary mix of polyurethane materials that wondrously allow you to snap your handset to Capta. This opens a myriad of possibilities, but in order for you to be truly free to experiment, the designers from Unique Design making Capta, have put the device through a series of tests among which: proving that an iPhone can hang vertically on Capta for three days, putting a phone through a “Ferris wheel” test trying to snap a number of phones from a BlackBerry to Androids to feature phones. The end result? This looks amazingly durable and all it takes for it to remain usable is a rinse with water every once in a while. Pledge $25 or more and you'll get your very own Capta Grip in motion test for capta using iphone 4

Samsung Galaxy Note - Writing The Next Chapter Of The Mobile Industry
rajanmehta replied to rajanmehta's topic in Other handsets
First Watch This Interesting Video - The Samsung Galaxy Note Vs Galaxy S II Vs Pockets Showdown / "Pocketability" demo! Then, One Good Actual User Detailed Review With Benchmarks, Videos >> http://www.androidnz.net/2011/11/galaxy-note-real-user-review-part-1.html Summary of Above Review: The Note is big. Really big. I like 'em large (minds out of the gutter lads), but even for me the Note takes some getting used to. My advice has to be to get some hands-on with one before taking the plunge. The build materials are Samsung's usual forgettable plastics, but they're more than the sum of their parts here - when the back cover is in place the materials feel good, and do manage to exude some of the sense of luxury that owners usually want when they're shelling out this kind of money. The build quality seems very good. The screen is good, really good, even in spite of the use of pentile matrix. If you peer at the display at an abnormally close range you will see the hatching pattern characteristic of pentile screens, but for most people in normal use I don't really think this will be an issue (that said some people won't be able to stop noticing once their eyes have fastened to the hatching once, so I'd still recommend getting an 'eyes-on' the device to be absolutely sure that pentile matrix won't become irksome). It benchmark's well, and in general use feels really good too, but it can't (yet) match the fluidity of the Galaxy S II, but then that's hardly surprising when the Galaxy S II only has to drive about 37.5% of the number of pixels that the Note is managing As per usual I try to nitpick at everything, because I think that's what potential buyers need, so for the sake of clarity I do need to say that despite the criticisms I've levelled at the Note here I do feel overwhelmingly good about the handset right at this moment in time (will the honeymoon last?) -

Samsung Galaxy Y is most value for money android handset at Rs 6,990. No other android in india from a good brand has similar specs at that price. You can also consider LG Optimus Net which has a better screen resolution, bigger memory and higher battery. You will pay around 3,000 more at Rs 9,999 for that.

Samsung Galaxy Smartphones To Get Hindi input Update Source Samsung is expected to roll out an update for its Galaxy smartphones that will bring support for several Indian languages including input in Hindi. Samsung noted that by next month most Galaxy series smartphones will get the indic input capability starting with Hindi language via an update. Also, the Galaxy family of smartphones will be made capable of displaying local Indian languages. There was no timeframe or list of models specified. However, several regional language users will be able to use their Android smartphone in the language of their choice. Vikas Tagra, product manager for mobile phones at Samsung India stated that an update will be released for all Galaxy smartphones, and that it will bring Hindi language input as well as menu options. Besides that, the update will also bring support for several other Indian languages but the input support will be limited to Hindi initially, and will be expanded to many languages in due course of time. At this moment there is no clarity on the date and medium through which this update will be pushed. Most likely Galaxy smartphone users may have to connect their device to a computer and get the update via Samsung Kies desktop software. It seems like the Hindi update will be coupled with the Gingerbread update, which is due for certain Samsung Android smartphones like Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Pop. In late September, HTC had announced that the Hindi update patch for Android OS on HTC smartphones would be rolled out by the end of this year. HTC has ensured that its Android smartphones get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update and get ready for the Hindi update patch. Sony Ericsson on the other hand comes with Panini Keyboard already built into Xperia 2011 smartphones. That leaves Motorola, LG and other Android smartphone vendors that do not offer Hindi input by default.

Aakash - The Cheapset Andriod Tab Only For Students
rajanmehta replied to ammar.cma's topic in General Technical Discussion
Upgraded Version of Aakash Tab Expected in February 2012, Same Price Source Last month, the world's most affordable tablet was unveiled in India amidst a lot of fanfare, as it brought along a promise of improving the quality of education for those who lacked proper education resources in the country. Called Aakash meaning the Sky, the tablet, at least promised to reach those highs. For an attractive price tag of $45, roughly Rs. 2,999, DataWind, the makers of this tablet stated that the tablet would run Android 2.2 and sport a 7-inch display. Now, according to a report in the Hindustan Times, the makers of Aakash-1 are already trying to bring out an upgraded version in February 2012. The catch here is, it will be priced the same as the first version. Delighted students at the launch of the Aakash tablet in New Delhi, last month According to the report, the planners of the Aakash-1 got down to collecting feedback from the users of the Aakash tablet, and based on the suggestions provided by them it was decided that unlike the first Aakash tablet, which had a 366 MHz processor, Aakash-2 will boast of a 800 MHz processor. This simply means that the tablet will have faster download speeds, especially for YouTube videos. For those multi-taskers, the Aakash-2 will come with 1GB RAM, as opposed to the 256 megabytes of RAM on the Aakash tablet. Additionally, Aakash-2 is being touted to sport an in-built camera on the front, useful for video chatting using Skype. The 7-inch touch screen display too is set to improve in the upgraded version, suggests the report. Aakash-2 will also see a larger group of technological companies coming together to lend their expertise. However, the biggest challenge would obviously remain fulfilling the orders for a large, and budding student community, as well as for the regular tech enthusiast. -
