    4 hours of daily power cuts is making life miserable.. Smaller towns in Maharashtra suffer 8 to 14 hours daily. This is going on for many years now.. Maharashtra a leading state??? Yes.. In Corruption, Bad Infrastructure, Farmer Suicides and a whole many other things.. Leaders are spineless but the public also won't protest.. They will simply go out and start buying inverters.. Even when they see that entire maharashtra suffers but there are no power cuts in Mumbai!! Why? Because the leaders are sitting/staying in Mumbai, it will attract national / international media attention and a big shame for them!!

  9. Haven't used it but as the name says, it looks like just a re-shipper based abroad. Gives the choice of USPS, UPS or FedEx. If you choose USPS, who will do the customs clearance in India? and FedEx will be very costly. Better to use integrated services like ShopAndShip, ICC, ShopYourWorld.

    One can just imagine.. Even for the full size computer keboards, if you are not careful about proper usage, over long term it definately leads to RSI & other health issues which are difficult to cure. With punny size mobile QWERT, how much pressure one exerts on fingers in keeping it bended, locating and pressing tiny keys.. If you're a heavy user, it's going to damage over long term.. Touch and SWYPE typing is fast, smooth and without any pressure. I don't think any QWERT keyboard user can match a well experienced SWYPE user in typing speed.. We should keep a contest at RIMweb to settle the issue once and for all
  13. Read the Draft Telecom Policy 2011 Document. Attached with this post. It just looks like a lofty intent to do a lot of things. Written in very "generalist" terms. The whole document containts no actual / clear / draft policy which says that we will do this or that. It's just a long list of objectives. Some of which should have been done years ago. This looks like what governments come out with "First 100 Days" when coming to power. Most of them never materialize.   15. It's still part of the proposal of the New DRAFT Telecom policy. Not implemented yet. Final implementation date after revisions / modifications if any is expected to be around December 2011.

    Even for MNP port in, they have increased the roaming rates to 2p/s across the board in all plan. They also showed me all the MNP plans. I think in some plan it was still 1p/s but the other tariff was bad. Besides do you think it's possible to live peacefully for 3 months after promising instant good voice quality to all powerful home minister? So that option was ruled out.
  18. Complaints can be registered even through automatic IVR or SMS also. You will be given a unique complaint number. The customer care of telecom operator has no control over there to reject registration of complaint. Then the complaint status can be tracked here online >> http://nccptrai.gov..../UccSearch.misc Please follow the following procedure on how to file a complaint through various modes like Voice Call, IVR & SMS for pesky calls / SMS received on your number.

  20. If you are registered in Do Not Call Registry, best option is to lodge a formal complaint.. Now there are hefty fines which keep on increasing with every default.. Should not take much time for you.. If every telecom subscriber simply starts lodging complaints for every single default, the financial cost for defaulters will be very heavy.. That itself will be the biggest deterrant.. Right now very few people bother to formally lodge a complain..

    They refused to give saying now the old SimplePPS199 plan with 1p/s roaming is no longer available. It will remain active for existing subscribers but not for new. For all new subscribers the same plan has only one difference, i.e., roaming at 2p/s instead of 1/ps in old plan. MNP plan they refused saying you are not porting in from other network.. When i told them that had the number remained in GSM with Reliance, they would have continued the same plan. To which they said Yes. I told them, basically you are penalizing the same customer for remaining with Reliance in CDMA. They said, you are getting a better network compared to R-GSM and should be happy with that. That's Reliance's skewed logic.. Funnily 2 days later, i am getting a call for feedback.. "Reliance ki seva ko kaise behtar banaya ja sakta hai uske liye aapka mulyavan samay chahiye:... What the F.. Now after 3 months when i will do the port out request, they will be very happy to offer the sun and the moon.. Probably more.. Penny Wise, Pound Foolish.. That's how Reliance operates..

    Amitji may be technically from Reliance infrastructure point of view they can call it internal but they followed entire normal MNP procedure from generating port out code from GSM, filling port in form for CDMA, Documents etc. In addition, since it was done like normal MNP rules, They did not allow the same old plan PPS 199 which was there in GSM. They gave PPS 199 in CDMA but in which roaming charges are 2 Paise Second now. They said now you're treated like a new customer and the old plan which was active in GSM can't be given to you. Rs 25 SMS pack which was active in GSM was also not granted in CDMA. Now only two packs in CDMA, Rs 39 & Rs 69. I had to take Rs 39. Poor network, call termination in congestion and abysmal voice call quality.. almost inaudible most of the time..
