Vikram was at school this morning in the outskirts and the teacher asked all the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came out, Fireman, Policeman, Salesman, Businessman, Captain of Industry etc, but Vikram was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his father. "My father is an exotic dancer in a gay club and takes off all his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes if the offer is really good, he'll go out with a man, rent a cheap hotel room and let them sleep with him." The teacher quickly set the other children some work and took little Vikram aside to ask him if that was really true. "No" said Vikram , "He plays cricket for India but I was just too embarrassed to say."

Who says English is easy So a 2 letter word has a hundred completely different meanings. So what is this stuff about English being easy? There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meaning than any other two-letter word, and that is "UP." It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we waken in the morning, why do we wake UP? At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends And we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car. At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special. And this UP is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP! To be knowledgeable of the proper uses of UP, look UP the word in the dictionary. In a desk size dictionary, the word up, takes UP almost 1/4th the page and definitions add UP to about thirty. If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP. When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, it wets UP the earth. When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP. One could go on and on, but I'll wrap it UP, for now my time is UP, so............. I'll shut UP...

How to Protect your E-Mail from spam ************ ********* ********* ** Imagine yourself preparing an important presentation. Suddenly, the Outlook Express installed on your computer pops up a message saying 'Buy Viagra for cheap' or 'Trying to sell you a business that pays you thousands of $$ every week'. Most Internet users are familiar with such unwanted emails in their Inbox. Lately, however, you must have noticed an increase in this kind of 'junk mail' to your your email address, or on your favourite newsgroup. These junk mails, also known as spam, are flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force it on people who would otherwise choose not to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products like get-rich-quick schemes. Spam costs the sender very little -- most of the cost is paid for by the recipient or the carriers, rather than by the sender. Email spam targets individual users with direct mail messages. Email spam lists are often created by scanning Usenet postings, stealing Internet mailing lists, or searching the Web for addresses. Here are some tips and tricks to help you control the amount of spam you receive. How to eliminate spam: 1) Try not to display your email address in public: This includes newsgroup postings, chat rooms, Websites and online services membership directories. You may want to opt out of member directories for your online services -- spammers use them to harvest addresses. Also, disguise your email address when you post it to a newsgroup, chat room, bulletin board, or other public web pages. For example, use ankurjain_del AT rediffmail DOT com. This way, a person can interpret your address, but the automated programmes spammers use often cannot. 2) Check the privacy policy when you submit your address to a Website: See if it allows the company to sell your address. You may want to opt out of this provision, if possible, or not submit your address at all to Websites that won't protect it. Also, look for all the check boxes that have been checked by default while you fill and submit any form. 3) Use two email addresses: Try to use two email addresses -- one for personal messages and one for newsgroups and chat rooms. You also might consider using a disposable email address service -- this can be a separate email address that forwards mails to your permanent account. If one of the disposable addresses begins to receive spam, you can shut it off without affecting your permanent address. 4) Use a unique email address: Your choice of email addresses may affect the amount of spam you receive. Spammers use 'dictionary attacks' to sort through possible name combinations at large ISPs or email services, hoping to find a valid address. Thus, a common name such as abcdshah may get more spam than a more unique name like a11bcd2006shah. Of course, there is a downside -- it's more difficult to remember an unusual email address. 5) Use an email filter: Check your email account to see if it provides a tool to filter out potential spam or a way to channel spam into a bulk email folder. You might want to consider these options when you're choosing your Internet Service Provider. Do your part by keeping your junk email filter up-to-date. 6) Never hit the 'REMOVE' button: Most spam mail you receive contains a line that says 'Reply with subject line as UNSUBSCRIBE to remove your email address from our mailing list'. When, in fact, you reply to unsubscribe, what happens is that you simply verify you have a valid email address. As a result, you get even more spam instead of getting removed from the list. Some spam relies on generators that try variations of email addresses at certain domains. If you click a link within an email message or reply to a certain address, you are only confirming your email address is valid. Unwanted messages that offer an 'unsubscribe' option are particularly tempting, but this is often just a method for collecting valid addresses that are then sent other spam. Take, for example, the : URL: http://grz67. com/track/ rd/3964715/ 5751/23643/ 1934. This URL contains a tracking ID will be mapped to your email ID in the site's database. The spammers would be sending you email with this URL behind the link. Whenever the user accesses this URL, the spammer can be sure the email address associated with this tracking ID is a valid one. Many people have documented the fact that not only do 'Remove' lists not work, they verify to the spammer that your e-mail address is good. The spammer then puts it on a premium CD and sell it to the next spammer for even more money. 7) Be responsible and considerate as a user: We ourselves promote spam in some way or the other. Some people consider email forwards a type of spam, so be selective with the messages you redistribute. Don't forward every message to everyone in your address book. If someone asks that you not forward messages to him or her, respect their request. 8) Keep your antivirus programs updated: Spam is a cat-and-mouse game, with spammers working relentlessly to outwit the filters. There have been some viruses reported, which help in spamming by sending a pre-set mail to all your Outlook contacts using your email address. When the recipients open their mail, their system also gets infected and mails are sent from their system to all the contacts in their address books. So, by keeping your antivirus programme updated, you can detect these viruses, stop their entry into your computer and prevent spamming from your mailbox.

MIND GAME (Old one,but interesting) 2% or 98% This is strange...can you figure it out? Are you the 2% or 98% of the population? Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD! * Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow. * There's no trick or surprise. * Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can! * Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them ... really. * Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something.) Think of a number from 1 to 10 Multiply that number by 9 If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together Now subtract 5 Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c,etc.) Think of a country that starts with that letter. Remember the last letter of the name of that country. Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter. Remember the last letter in the name of that animal. Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter. Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange ? I told you this was FREAKY!! If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise.

All about WD40 ? Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a "water displacement" compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts. Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you. When you read the "shower door" part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! 1.. Then try it on your stovetop... Voila! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed. 2.. Here are some of the uses: 3.. Protects silver from tarnishing. 4.. Removes road tar and grime from cars. 5.. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings. 6.. Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making it slippery. 7.. Keeps flies off cows. 8.. Restores and cleans chalkboards. 9.. Removes lipstick stains. 10.. Loosens stubborn zippers. 11.. Untangles jewelry chains. 12.. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks. Cleans the fronts of stainless steel appliances (have personally seen the employees of Lowes use it on their appliances in the store to keep them new looking) 13.. Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill. 14.. Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing. 15.. Removes tomato stains from clothing 16.. Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots. 17.. Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors. 18.. Keeps scissors working smoothly. 19.. Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes. 20.. Gives a children's play gym slide a shine for a super fast slide. 21.. Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers. 22.. Rids kids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises. 23.. Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open. 24.. Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close. 25.. Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well as vinyl bumpers. 26.. Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles. 27.. Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans. 28.. Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles for easy handling. 29.. Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running smoothly. 30.. Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools . 31.. Removes splattered grease on stove. 32.. Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging. 33.. Lubricates prosthetic limbs. 34.. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell). 35.. Removes all traces of duct tape. 36.. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain. 37.. Florida's favorite use is: "cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers." 38.. The favorite use in the state of New York--WD-40 protects the Statue of Liberty from the elements. 39.. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states. 40.. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch. 41.. WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag. 42.. Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone! 43.. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start. 44.. It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks. 45.. Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40! P. S. The basic ingredient is FISH OIL.

@Honest Do you think with this type of indirect harrassment and changes without thinking of loyal customers, anyone would want to go for any of thier other services, you being in Mumbai must be aware that people are using Reliance Energy because there is no other alternative or else I think Ada led companies are the most hated ones in the suburbs. It has always been the policy of Reliance right from the time of Late Dhirubhai, they never asked any people working with them to leave directly but indirectly they demoted that person in such a way that the person would leave the company on his own. Maybe the same is being tried here

Why go to the men's room every 1/2 hour ? You can setup your monitoring station in the men's room itself Back to the topic I dont think the pen drive thing will work,it will be really risky thing if caught you may be accused of many other things,so my advice to you would be drop the idea of taking anything after downloading in the office, its better to download at home, and Bsnl is also coming up with 2mb download so wait for some time to download

Reliance Communications Plans Mobile Commerce Splash
prathod replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
One of our members posted a very great thing earlier in one of the post, first it should try to manage its own billing system properly, organise its own team/staff,network and online bill payments then only these things would be sucessful. Or else we would end up calling and writing to CC for the errors and wrong payments . -
Agree with Kingofkalyan, the Indian Govt anounces many things but the implementation is very slow except for the taxing thing. And I feel the Late Pramod Mahajan was a good Telecom Minister then Dayanidhi Maran,He will be always remembered for bringing a revolution in the telecom sector.

That response comes whenever there is network problem or data services are unavailable .
-
It happened again this afternoon. There are two web expresses in Mira Road and both had downed thier shutters, with a printout posted saying that "Due to network failure we wont be able you access your account and solve your problem." When I called customer care and told them they said the network is fine and when asked about yesterday they said yesterday there was some problem but today its fine, when infact the network was down. When I asked them about call divert they said that i could divert my calls to any no except Bsnl and Mtnl nos(which are the most reliable network nowadays ),and I would be charged as per the local call charged to the plan which I am subscribed. When pointed that I would be activating conditional divert wherein my incoming calls would be diverted when there is no network coverage and I should not be charged for problems at thier end,the answer I got was our network is world class and is always fine and problems like what happened yesterday was just an accident. Reliance,Reliance

I think reliance switches off its network in Delhi when exams are going on

I think Honest you should start a detective service you would be great hit. That octroi thing was a horrible experience and I was happy that I had forgotten. But thanks to you,you refreshed it. Ok here is the octroi story, its an oldone so I am doing some cut-paste. This was in the first week of July 2003,when the 501 monsoon hungama was announced. I and my four freinds decided to try reliance and accordingly we purchased 5 connections from a dealer in kandivali.I took the delivery of all the five phones and was coming to mira road where we stay with the mobile phones in my kinetic honda as i neared the octroi naka at kashimira the octroi people stopped me and asked for octroi for the mobile phones.I told them that no octroi was applicable for the phones which is for personal use,but they were not ready to listen.there was a big argument about the phones and later one mr kishore agrawal who owns the octroi started saying that now i will have to pay 11 times of octroi as penalty which he calculated as Rs 17500 as i was running away with the phones and started saying that reliance should have come to us earlier and will now see that reliance comes on its knees as they have seized many more phones and will continue doing so.I called up reliance customer care but nobody over there had any reply.what i wanted to know is there any octroi payable on the handsets if yes why did they not specify it on the boxes and if not why anybody from reliance is not aware of it.I have been told that there is more then 1000 phones in the kashimira bhayender muncipals custody, who is responsible for getting it back ? I was very busy during those days and almost gave up the hope of getting the handsets back. To start with I misplaced the acknowledgement which I had taken from them and by the time I got it back the agency which had consificated my phones had lost thier contract to pappu kalani's company who till date are managing the octroi over there. Now the reliance part of the story,I tried contacting reliance thru many dealers including the one from whom I bought those sets but they were not willing to give the letter which they said was supposed to be given to the octroi people as it seems that since the things were imported and octroi and customs were paid at the time of getting the consignment in India no more octroi was applicable on it. Now meanwhile we started getting bills for the phones which were not even activated dialing *228.We called up reliance and told them about the problem but you can guess what response we must have got from the customer care people. So after a lot of thinking we told reliance that these connections are not taken by us and we are getting bills for it,they asked us to file complain with the police and give them a copy of it.we did that and got rid of the bills. Sorry for such a long post but Honest insisted that even if this experience benifits one person on the forum its worth posting it.

I think a strong lawyer can make a strong case of it.And this can only be a good case in consumer courts. You can also look out for ads on tv channels these days about some new ministry or commission which takes care of misleading ads,and also report this to them, and since its a new thing prompt action is guaranted. But what is the compensation you people are expecting out of it ?
-
Friends when we take a connection from any service provider we fill out a form and sign it and give them, but we never care to read them,it says that we agree to their terms and conditions given overleaf or something like that. And most of the mobile operators and other service providers have all the things written in favour of them. They immunize themselves by taking our signatures. My advice to you people is to go thru that and see where we have allowed/agreed reliance to not provide some services which are beyond their control and something like that.If you read the brochure properly there must be some words written in fine print saying network dependent. In short Lg will blame reliance and reliance,lg.And if the case go strongly against reliance they can come up with their service agreement. I am not an expert in law but in my view these are the possiblities.
-
I was also able to connect to one of my friend in goregoan but I thought it was by fluke that I got him. Infact I was trying Ashoksoft's no but since that friend is also named ashok I dialed him by mistake. Today I did a sensible thing, that is diverted my calls to another gsm,you cant trust reliance anymore.4-5 hours that to without any notice nor any apology for it,its a typical "C" category 3rd class youngest mobile company.
