Arey Bhai,Why are you planning to stop income of rich muncipal officers. Octroi generates black revenue to many people at the octroi nakas and not only the muncipal staff but also many people earn from it.I know of many people who just give 3-4 hours per day at the octroi post and take home a monthly amount not less then 10-12 lacs. Its only a dream that octroi will be abolished,infact no one wants it to be abolished,even some traders. Recently Maharashtra govt conducted a survey and decided to abolish octroi in Maharashtra pending opinion from muncipal commissioners of different towns and cities.The govt gave them 3 options to cover up the revenue generated from octroi but all the three options wont generate under_the_table revenue for any of the commissioners or thier staff so there is no hope for relief from octroi.

I think the problem was in most parts of India,as I tried calling my mother in Delhi and her no was also not reachable,by reachable here I mean that at times it said the no is switch off or not reachable and most of the times there was just a blank-no response. After the network was restored I started getting smses saying I have missed calls,Hope the network problem was not to generate income from the missed call alerts

I have got 4 connections altogether and all of them cant have problems at the same time. I first had the same notion and changed my mobile but still the problem is there And why did you ask about star one ,yes we do get star one. Btw where are you located and where in mira road do you come.

At times I also get the same message while trying to connect thru my lg cordless,I just turn off the phone and switch it on after 5-10 mins.To my knowledge its a network problem if your connection is active from their end. Also lately from the past few days I have been facing a lot of network problem in Mira road,my phone shows full network but when I dial my own no from any other phone it shows as not reachable. Dont know whats going on. Anyone else in mumbai or close to me facing same problem please share.

Correct,you dont get free pop3 access in yahoo.com addresses,but it is free for yahoo.co.in addresses and some other yahoo.co.XX addresses. maybe we can try adding one more email id to your existing yahoo id with a regional one.

@Honest,Thanks buddy,infact i wait for your post that is mostly after 1 am and find your replies and debates interesting. @Chandannasta,The original lg batteries should be mostly made in korea,and apart from that you can make out from the finishing of the battery,and since you bought it from a lg service center and that too with a reciept increases the chances of getting the original stuff. Try for the data cable on ebay you should get it much cheaper thou it wont be original but it would definately serve your purpose.If you need the cable just for internet then go for usb one or if you planning to tweak your phone or use some other applications serial cable is recommended. And whenever asking for spares at lg service centers ask them the service charges also becoz thats the thing which comes up after you pay for the spare like keypad and body,they may charge you more for fitting those things apart from the Rs.1200 they quoted.

I had warned everyone,not to ask and write, when they were writing to chairman'soffice and customercare regarding wap charges,and now maybe after recieving all the queries they must have found charging for wap would generate good revenue. The rate is same as what hutch is charging.

It depends on your email id/provider For example if your email id is XXXXXX@yahoo.co.in, your pop3 will be pop.mail.yahoo.co.in and smtp will be smtp.mail.yahoo.co.in (yahoo india uses port no 587 for smtp) The settings are different for yahoo.com and yahoo.co.in and other regional yahoo ids get the settings from your emal provider for pop3 access and accordingly feed it in your email client.

I apologise for the wrong estimate given by me. I quoted the price bcoz I had seen that price list at lg service center in mira road when I had a lg 2030 in 2004 end,and during that time the batteries available at manish market were orignal ones maybe from the Rs.501 monsoon scheme. And also since the model has been discontinued I thought the price of the spares would be higher at lg service centers. Anyway its good news for Chandannasta

The price of lg2030 battery at lg service center would be more then a good second hand lg2030 phone. Expect a price between 1200 and 1500 at the service center.The best place to try for the battery if not available in the suburbs is to go to manish market.

@linuxguy you are right that laptops are not for long uptimes and desktops should be used for extended use,but I have been using a hp pavilion and have been keeping it on most of the time,sometimes for days and this laptop has not given me any problem for the last 2 years.The only thing I have done is removed the battery. What I mean here is you can use laptops for prolong periods also thou not recommended.

The answer is same as given by linuxguy,but incase you are using your laptop for a longer time it should be connected to ac power using the adapter and battery removed,as there is a chance for the battery to wear off quickly when on mains for a long time,also the laptop battery's life is affected by too much heat produced by the cpu when used for a longer period.

you can keep the pc on for weeks or months as long as it has proper ventilation and cool surroundings,but rebooting the system once in a day is preferable to reset memory.to save power you can adjust the power properties to switch off the monitor and harddisk etc in the control panel as per your requirement.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has passed a regulation allowing mobile subscribers to access Intelligent Network (IN) services such as toll-free number of other service providers. At present, consumers can access special services through Intelligent Network (IN) deployed by the telecom operator in their network only. Free phone or toll free number, Virtual Calling Card (VCC) for long distance calls, are some of the popular examples of such services. The regulation mandates cellular companies to provide interconnection to all eligible operators so that subscribers of all access providers will have a choice of using the in services of other mobile operators. TRAI said with these regulations no operator would be permitted to block his subscribers from accessing the in platform of other service providers. As per the regulations, service providers would have to enter into necessary commercial and technical agreements for providing this interconnection within three months. The technical architecture and mutual revenue share among service providers would have to be mutually decided based on the principles of reciprocity and non-discrimination, it said. Also, service providers would have to comply with the various provisions and access code allocated as per the national numbering plan. Source: Zee News

Dont know about trains as I dont travel much by trains,but the signals are good in most of the places in mumbai,and the only drawback is that there is no roaming in garuda its only for mumbai,and delhi users can only use in delhi.
