  2. Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular services providers announced the Unlimited SMS offer for its prepaid and postpaid customers in Mumbai. Vodafone prepaid customers in Mumbai can now avail 500 free local or national SMS daily with a Bonus Card of Rs. 89 with a validity of 30 days. To activate the offer, prepaid customers can SMS ACT SMS89 to 144 (toll free) from their mobile phones. Tata Teleservices Limited , India’s fastest-growing pan-India dual-technology telecom service provider, today announced that it has emerged as the Number One telecom operator in the country for the forth consecutive month in November, in terms of new subscriber additions, adding more than 3.3 million subscribers in the month.The achievement is all the more noteworthy as the nearest competitor managed to add just over 2.8 million subscribers in the same period, a gap of nearly half a million subscribers.Tata Teleservices Limited has added 3,329,215 new subscribers in November 2009 from its CDMA (Tata Indicom) and GSM operations (TATA DOCOMO), put together. In October 2009 too, TTSL had showed a healthy growth in new additions, with 3,867,725 new subscribers being added. Expressing his delight over the achievement, Mr Anil Sardana , Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said: “It is extremely gratifying to emerge as the top grosser in the industry in terms of new subscriber additions, for the fourth consecutive month. Reserve Bank of India increased the transaction limits for mobile banking five times, Now all Banks are permitted to offer mobile banking to their customers subject to a daily cap of Rs.50,000 per customer for transactions on-line shopping and involving purchase of any goods or services, as well as funds transfer.Currently, all the mobile banking transactions are limited to caps of Rs.5000 for fund transfer and Rs.10000 for on-line shopping. The Reserve Bank of India also allowed the use of mobile phones for cash remittances. All Banks in India will now be able to provide fund transfer services that let customers transfer funds from their accounts for delivery in cash up to Rs.5000. The RBI also relaxed the technology and security standards and allowed banks to undertake transactions up to Rs.1000 without end to end encryption.
