Update!!! The issue, I suppose, is not with android only. Samsung Epic on Tata indicom recieving messages fine with Zero"0" shown as Zero"0" and not "D" where as my EVO still shows it as "D". Maybe Android+HTC is the whole issue!

^ He must need the MEP as well with your IMEI in order to get the MEP code correctly calculated. There are guides which can help you do that, else just let him know what service provider its locked to (Verizon, Sprint, etc.)
