Solaris 310-200 Dump Needed.. Urgent!
-
Source A few months after the launch of its lower end sibling, the C3, Nokia has launched its latest C Series device, in India - the C5. The C5 is a mid-range handset targeted at users looking for a decent entry-level smartphone. The phone features a 2.2-inch, QVGA LCD TFT display and runs Symbian OS 9.3. It has a 3.15 megapixel camera complete with an LED Flash and video recording support. Videos can be recorded at VGA resolution at 15 fps. The phone might be a good candidate if you want a low-cost 3G capable device as it has a front facing video camera for video calling as well. Other bits include support for EGPRS, an FM Radio receiver, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and a 3.5mm jack, which looks to be becoming a standard feature these days. The phone is powered by a relatively powerful ARM 11 processor that runs at 600Mhz and with 128MB of RAM, you can expect this one to be quite zippy - especially for a Symbian phone at its price point. The C5 has 50MB of internal memory and supports memory expansion with microSD cards. A 2GB card is included with the phone and should you need more memory, you can add in a 16GB card as well. The C5 has a relatively powerful 1050Mah battery that should last quite a while when used normally. The C5 will make your wallets lighter by Rs. 7,999 in India, which we think is a decent price for a phone of its caliber. Price it a bit lower and this has the potential to be a brisk seller.

3G Service To Cost Rs.700-900/month : Sunil Mittal

3500 crore for a license.. All these telcos should have worked as a group and kept the auction price at a certain limit.. they let it skyrocket and now they want the customer to pay for their foolishness.. Rather stick to mobile broadband over cdma.. atleast signal problems wouldnt be there and we would get better value for money... -
Indian Mobile Brands Begin Challenging The Biggies
faizone posted a topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Source If large traditional mobile phone companies were being tormented by relatively new comers like Apple and RIM in the west, there seems to be a similar event unfolding in India but at the lower-end of the price spectrum. Of late, a barrage of new homegrown mobile phone manufacturers have entered the vast Indian mobile phones market which is undoubtedly, one of the largest in the world. With cellphone connections still relatively low here as compared to most other countries, these companies see immense potential in India. This, coupled with India's obsession with the value-for-money tag, seems to be slowly causing a gradual shift in the market. While India was a price conscious market, it was also known to be very brand centric. People trusted brands rather than products and the notion that Nokia makes good quality, well priced phones still holds strong. However, the new Indian consumer looks beyond brands now and has started focusing more on the value-for-money factor. This has come to light in a recent survey by Voice&Data which highlights that homegrown, local manufacturers are starting to eat into the market share of the traditional biggies. In fact, Indian handset makers have garnered a respectable 14 percent market share in the country this financial year. This, compared to the 4 percent share in the last year, is an indication of how fast these companies grow. Nokia, a dominant brand in India, lost a whopping 12 percent market share during the past year. New players like Micromax, Spice Mobiles, Lemon, Max and Lava now have significant market share in various parts of the country. In terms of numbers, Micromax now has a 4.1 percent of the market, Spice Mobiles juts a few notches down at 3.9 percent. Karbonn and Lava had a 3 and 1 percent each. Nokia continues to lose the grip to the advantage of Samsung who is the second largest phone manufacturer in India with 17.4 percent of the market in the previous financial year. LG grabbed the third spot with 5.9 percent while Sony Ericsson continued its downward trend. -
Source To start off l would like to bring to notice oft overlooked statutory hazard warnings issued by HDTV brands. This is how one of them poses itself: If you experience any of the following symptoms, immediately stop watching 3D pictures and consult a medical specialist: (1) altered vision; (2) lightheadedness; (3) dizziness; (4) involuntary movements such as eye or muscle twitching; (5) confusion; (6) nausea; (7) loss of awareness; (8) convulsions; (9) cramps; and/or (10) disorientation. Parents should monitor and ask their children about the above symptoms as children and teenagers may be more likely to experience these symptoms than adults. These symptoms sound like serious business, and the scary part is, that all media today, including our superb website, is riding the 3D bandwagon, but no one really talks about these hazards even though I have felt them myself so many times. Plus, these are not some generic health hazard like “don’t sit too close to the TV”, these are more like “try and not get blind”. There are more Health Hazards printed in 3D TV manuals for e.g. Viewing in 3D mode may cause disorientation for some viewers. DO NOT place your television near open stairwells, cables, balconies or other objects that may cause you to injure yourself. This one is downright funny, imagine a geek jumping off the balcony to get a soda. But the implication is right there, staring back at you, in 3D dimensions, no pun intended. 3D f*cks with your eyes, and it’s a serious issue. The phenomenon is still new to massmarket; thus how do we know that prolonged viewing 3D does not damage our eyesight permanently, anything is possible. I am dead sure that Samsung and LG have not spent millions of dollars testing this stuff out over a long period of time. The deal with 3D causing headaches goes back to a simple but highly prevalent phenomenon of Motion Sickness. Our brain doesn't have eyes of its own; it uses our eyes, and ears, and touch to calculate whether we are moving or stationary. Thus when you stare straight up ahead in a moving car, your ears pressure tells the brains its moving, and our eyes think we are still. Thus what the brain do? It tells the stomach to kick lunch out. Watching artificial 3D is sort of like that, and the headaches come from there. Thus as consumers we must be aware of the health hazards, and also aware that’s it’s a new tech. Prevention is better than cure.

Source With the advent of blockbuster Blu-ray movies like The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean and lately Avatar, all India needed was more options for Blu-ray players. Sony has introduced new Blu-ray player BDP-S370 costing Rs. 9,990. On buying this device, you get two free Blu-ray titles - Legion and Michael Jackson's This is It. Yes, this new player is a step up version of the Sony BDP-S360 which we reviewed back in December. Until now, Indian consumers had to spend over Rs. 18,000 on Blu-ray players and hence considered buying PlayStation 3 as a better option. It's true as we've come across several consumers like that. The new Sony Blu-ray Disc player BDP-S370 is a major enhancement over the BDP-S360 version. This new BDP-S370 allows you to play full HD 1080p Blu-ray titles and also improves the regular DVD quality with Precision Cinema HD Upscale feature that converts SD quality (480i) to full HD (1080p) quality video. New Sony BDP-S370 also offers BRAVIA Internet Video which was missing from BDP-S360 model. This model is also Wireless LAN ready. Audio has been taken care of with internal decoding and bit stream output of enhanced audio codecs - Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio. Up to 7.1 channels of lossless surround sound experience can be enjoyed. Users can also hook their USB MP3 players and flash drives to this player either in the front or rear. This feature packed Blu-ray player also comes with DivX playback support. What more do you want from a Blu-ray player? You can buy Sony Blu-ray BDP-S370 player from Sony Center and Sony Authorized resellers across India.

Nigh-on all in Pure's range of digital (DAB) radios have been officially certified for bathroom use by Intertek Test Labs, a world leader in electrical product safety testing. That means that the ONE Mini, ONE Elite, ONE Classic and Move can all be safely used in the bath or shower room when powered by batteries or the company's own proprietary recharge pack. You can't, obviously, power them from the mains - water and electricity are not happy bedfellows - but the moisture in the air won't damage your radio. Robert Hennessy, buyer, audio & telecoms, John Lewis, welcomes the announcement as there are scant few bathroom-ready radios at present: “Our customers have given us consistent feedback that they would like to find more bathroom radios in-store," he says. "So it is great news that four of our most popular radios can now be used safely in the bathroom.” The range will now sport a rubber duck icon, to show off their bathroom-readiness.

My TV has L+R component output but no headphone jack. Have seen simple converters in the local market which merge the 2 channels into single 3.5mm one but the problem is that only one either L or R is audible. I am looking for a solution (a small amplifier kind of thing) which takes the L+R output of the TV and gives be a 3.5mm output. What exactly should i ask the local market guys and how much will it cost. Thanks!! Cheers!

Is this LG handset offer still open. LINK We need to recharge for just Rs.75/- a month (for 6 months) to get unlimited R2R CDMA with new connections on the mentioned handsets (LG 3610/3510/3530/3540). Checked with a Reliance store nearby. They have no info on this. Is it still available and do I need to check at a WebWorld?? If we calculate unlimited R2R CDMA costs us Rs.299/month. In this offer I recharge only for Rs.75 a month for 6 months. Saving per month would be Rs.224. Thats Rs.1344 over the 6 month period which is almost the cost of these LG handsets..

Latest Update... Got the 2000min r2r-cdma after raising a complaint with the webworld.. So the offer is very much open for all those who want to take a new rcdma connection with a lg handset. Cheers!!

faizone replied to raghugs's topic in Android

Except for the name, nothing is cool about this phone. My friend used this phone for a month and then the display simply went blank. WW guys told him to go to the service center and the SC guys said water had entered the phone and that the warranty had gone void. He had been using the phone carefully and vouched that there was no chance of water entering the phone. They simply stuck to their version of the problem. He finally dumped the phone for an LG 3600 and he lived happily ever after!! so live a fairy tale with LG/Samsung/ or any other phones on reliance.. stay away from Coolpad.. Get it if u want to live a nightmare.. Cheers!!

Oh.. thats news to me.. thanks Hitesh bhai for the enlightenment.. and for babies like me.. google search found this "The difference between CDMA and WCDMA in term of physical layer spreading is that in CDMA system signal is spread upto 1.25 MHz( I am not sure about actual value ) while in WCDMA signal is spread upto 5MHz band. Hence extra "W" meaning "wide" is used and hence called as WCDMA."

@Hitesh Think it supports WCDMA as well.. besides its got a Qualcomm chipset dude.. so i think cdma people wont feel left out.. Cheers!!

You are right amitabh.. Gnome Vs KDE is a very sensitive topic in the linux world. Visit any unix related forum and there would be a thread where people would be ready to kill each other over this debate. Now, we here at rimweb are totally against flaming. So lets drop this topic right here. Gnome works well for someone while KDE does well for someone else. But I will certainly play around with KDE as its been a long time since I did so. After all, being open to learning is part and parcel of the IT heartbeat!! As for my Linux journey its predominantly been Ubuntu.. Started with Feisty Fawn in 2007 > then Hardy Heron now running two machines, one with Jaunty Jackalope and the other with Karmic Koala. Waiting for the Maverick Meerkat due this October. Maybe its because I have used Ubuntu as my main course I have an attachment to Gnome. Even the RHEL i use at the datacenter is bent on Gnome Cheers!!

Update: The webworld guy was still not sure about the offer but the CC said the offer is valid. The sales guy made several calls to Rel officials and confirmed. Finally I got a 3540 with a new number. Then he sms'd my RSN to 52277. Then recharged my account with 75 bucks. Got a talktime of about 66. He said I will get the R2R Cdma free mins within 48 hours. In case I didn't I need to contact the webworld again. Will update once I have any progress on this. Cheers!!

Tata Indicom Shops Are Closing In Kerala
faizone replied to KAPILKDEV's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Tata indicom is simply not in sync with the dynamics of the industry. Except for a good website and the ichoose platform, tata did little to understand and retain customers. Reliance keeps sweeping with their flagship cdma offers and tata reacts but a little too late. Hope they stand up to the competition as Tata is the only company with enough resources to take on Reliance head-on. Else telecom market in India would be monopolized by the two behemoths Reliance and Airtel.. Cheers!!
